I remember my first company I worked for where they performed thermovision scans on large turbine generators stator iron laminations to detect hot spots. The equipment was expensive and not as portable as yours. That is a sweet device. Good luck with it.
It’s amazing. Shows my mini split, and other AC equipment and venting temps a lot better. Can see low and high point along with a center user pointed temp all’s t the same time. I can also see the 2x4s in the wall for exterior walls. Etc. So you can easily see the temp differences. While the topdon requires more power it doesn’t need to be charged and can run for far longer.
Beware if it's anything like Flir's phone attachment, the connectors are a weak point and are not replaceable; If it breaks, you've got yourself an expensive paper weight. Consider a standalone unit like the UNI-T UTI260B, they seem pretty good bang for buck.

I got a FLIR version. It helped me show a client he didnt have a huge leak, and it helped me diagnose a no hot water issue also. Water heater was fine but no hot water anywhere… it showed me where the water was going.

They auctioned off everything on the ship, including the metric system kit the US had ordered, and the guy who was supposed to teach us how to use the metric system died before we could ransom him back. So the government said “F!ck it, we’re sticking with the imperial system”😂
