i put one of these under my sink. They last long, but NYC water is pretty hard.. has lots of sediment. it caused the water pressure to the faucet drop over time, in roughly less than a year. But the filter was still doing a good job. So in the end, I ended up putting a Tee Stop Valve and route water from it on separate lines to faucet and filter. Then I attached the filter to a hose for whenever i needed to refill a 5gallon for drinking water.

@@Gruntled2001we have to leave a means of disconnect for equipment. It's not allowed to be hard wired even for garbage disposal and dishwasher. All of it is required to have a plug. No issue there.
I always change any stops to quarter-turn valves if I'm already working on something under there, unless there's so much corrosion that it's better to shut off the whole house water supply than touch the supply stops.

That's just an extension cord so chances are it's plugged into a GFI receptacle somewhere close by. If it ever got wet it would just trip the relay on the GFI

Just dealt with a corner sink today total pain in the ass. I had to pull a ventriloquist act just to get access to the stupid faucet. Of course it was seized up so I had to cut it apart. Valves wouldn’t turn off so I had to crawl back in there And rebuild them absolute nightmare of course it was a double sink so all the plumbing was right in my way as well
bro there literally layers of dust on everything under that sink and possibly mold on the bottom of it. She definitely doesn't open that cabinet door except every year or two.
