Wahoo, mahi, and tuna are my 3 favorite fish to catch trolling. Bottom fishing would be swordfish (really deep bottom fishing 😃) triggers, and red snapper, black drum, haven’t caught much more than that to attest to eating. Inshore flounder, speckled or grey trout, cobia. Surf fishing sea mullet, flounder, snook, sheepshead, redfish, and pompano. But any fish that my wife catches that brings a smile to her face is my favorite fish!

Great Day Fishing & Cooking. Today is Sept. 19th and I went fishing Offshore in Dana Point, CA for Bluefin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, etc. Water was 67°F, 15 miles out at the 277. We saw some Dolphin's jumping. We saw a few Kelp patties, etc. Trolled, have LIVE bait - sardines, ...a few other boats trolling rigs. No hook-ups today. I LOVE watching you because of all the Hook-Ups. What's the water temp. where you caught the Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, etc.

Nice! We did some deep sea fishing in the Sea of Cortez back in the day, caught 21 Mahi Mahi. End of July, HOT weather ugh.. but lots of tacos that evening! Tasty!

Yes you should. Clean it, season it, pack it, freeze it, thaw it, cook it, eat it (enjoy). Awesome catch. I used to fish with my Dad and catch these. Make memories and have fun.

I love it!! Call you congressman if you don’t like it lmao. GOLDEN. Folks get after me for keeping my limit of crappies when I fish em but what they don’t know is my in-laws don’t fish but they sure enjoy eating them with us and that takes two limits+ every time they come to a fish fry. I take care of my crappies where I fish and throw back a lot more than I keep and I’m always dropping more habitats in the waters I fish for the crappies.

Very Comfortable running any Boat
Then I hit a 1/2 submerged Log
Put a dent in Bow, and caused our 60HP Evinrude to kick straight up
Scared the crap out of us
However, no damage, no Problem, limited out on King Salmon for the day, but htting logs is no fun

Keep em they're one of the fastest growing fish in the ocean ,can get to 40lbs in a year
In South Africa we can only keep 10 fish at any time (freezer+ boat) we can't give them away, but we can eat them with friends.
I tent to keep 3 max 4, you can always catch more and fresh is best.
Technically speaking it’s the same in the states. However, enforcement of what’s in the freezer is problematic. Knowing what 10 fish steaked out in a freezer is to subjective to opinion. Or one could just say the fish was bought at market and the receipt was lost… But like you I prefer to keep a few and release the rest.
Brian is a genius, if you mess up shopping then you don't have to go shopping very often. 🤣

how many trips do you get 1 or 2 fish. as long as you are in the limit , and don't waist them, take them

Why do they not slow down the boat to get the fish in? Because of tangling lines as never trolled for fish in the ocean, bottom fishing experience only...

I would keep them for sure, can make up for the days you don't catch and considering the growth rate on mahi they are not threatened at all not in our Waters at least

He’s keep them all. That is why we fish for consumption as well as the enjoyment of the catch... Catch clean and cook. Now if you already have more than you need at home then that might be a different matter.

Hell yes I would keep every legal fish. I'd share with those unable to go out fishing and I'd vacuum pack and freeze a few for a rainy day.

Use way better tortillas. Flour , water lime , salt is all there should be . Maybe you could support a local fresh tortilla maker. Giant flavor difference

You are not greedy, if i could go catch a boat full of Mahi i would keep all i could and stock up and share with friends that will never have the chance to go get fresh Mahi or other saltwater fish. There is a limit for a reason and if you aren't going over the limit then there is no issue.
It's good you guys respect and try to explain the circle of life to the (politely) idiots.
