Great job Matt, this is where a lot of people struggle racking gates and getting the measurements for fabrication. Just like you had said use a stringline with line level and use on the top of your set fence and measure how many inches your out of level and be descriptive of if it’s a high left from the outside or high right. A drawing after you set your fence will help a lot with fabrication to make sure it’s correct, as well as accounting for the hardware your using and writing down your set opening. Hinge off the low side when you can so it opens best with the ground. Happy fencing 💪
I've got the fence in place already, but I want a gate there. Can I just reinforce a section of the fence, slap some hinges on the low side, and cut that section of fence out to make a gate? Or will that end in tears and rebuilding the fence? Hopefully that was clear enough. I'm going to look through your channel and see if you have tips on that bit, good video. Thanks for making it.
Line level, straight edge with a level, laser, all would work better than a chicken eye or the old eyecrometer. Yes you can use those words if you like. Lol!
I'd like to see the process in production... measure the area, then measuring out his gate frame and making it. how to do all that.
This is a really good demonstration! Very easy to follow
💯
I’m really enjoying my Mondays withMatt.

If the gate is square. We have to dig into the hill to have it open and close straight, correct?

Hey, did you do this, it’s what I was thinking to do too?
Clamp the gate verticals on hinge/post, single middle screw on each horizontal piece let them drop or rise to where it looks good. Clamp. Screw.
