I actually really loved that game. I played the crap out of it, it's a ton of fun even to this day. Sure, it looks like crap. But it's surprisingly fun with great level design, gameplay and the dialogue system is pretty good. It actually does play a big role, and can actually open up different ways to beat a level. It's great. There's surprisingly much freedom in the game. You can beat a crap ton of level in many different ways. It's a very surprising game. There's actually a lot of freedom in the game. But it's actually a decent time.
+Kolsyrad Mcluvin i play it on pc, much more decent graphics but also the super great amazing possibility to place the camera on shoulder of the characters (almost first person view)
I never ever understood why this game was so poorly reviewed by so many, it was fun as fuck and that's what a game's fucking supposed to be; fun. Also, graphics do not make a game. You can have a lovely-looking HD game, but if the gameplay is utter shite like so many modern games today that horribly focus on looks and graphics specifically (because that's apparently what defines the quality of a game nowadays according to most 'gamers') and not as much on gameplay personally I get bored extremely quickly. P.S. good review mate (I also adored the Phantom Menace film when it came out - was also young when I saw it)
The killing Anakin thing kinda reminds me of the scene when Richtofen shoots his older self, messing up the timeline in Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Zombies.
This video deserves more views considering all the work you put into it. I played this game to death I didn't notice how horrible the graphics were until I saw this video :P But the atmosphere was great and I loved this game.
LOL I have painful memories of that game. It had it's moments but I could never get past the Coruscant level. It had the most infuriating platforming sections I've ever seen. I think I will review it, one day :)
Me, I was pretty much the other way around. When I was young, my mother bought the Special Editions of A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi on VHS, and I enjoyed all three movies. Though, the scene where Vader cuts off Luke's hand did give me recurring nightmares after seeing that scene. Fast forward to 1999, and my aunt invited my entire family to watch the Phantom Menace on my birthday. And I watched it, and nearly everyone attending my birthday present enjoyed the movie. Myself include. And yes, some of us actually like Jar Jar Binks. Hell, whenever I do a Star Wars Marathon, I always put on the Phantom Menace first, since I prefer watching a series in chronological order, instead of the order that they were made. And even to this day, I still enjoy all three movies in the Prequel Trilogy.
When you look back at this game it looks horrible... but I remember this game when it first came out, and it looked amazing... To me back then it looked as good as an xbox game... but obviously it's just because it was newer tech than sega, snes, and etc.
I like how on this channel you're reviews are hilarious! The spiderman 2 review is the best and I can't wait for you to review spiderman 3 it will be so funny I know it.
This was my first Star Wars game, so I cut it a lot of slack. I have a lot of fond memories of playing as Obi-Wan from Level 1, but always wanted to play as Qui-Gon as he was one of my favorites from the movies. When I reached the Tattooine level - the first one where you play as Qui-Gon - my 8-year-old self nearly thrown a party at home!
I LOVED this game. It was simple yet complex in its presentation and gameplay. I was sad that the other two movie games weren’t done by the same developer.
4:50 The reward is in the back room. The door opens after the boy is returned. As for the combat, try using the Force Push to knock shooting enemies down.
Got to admit, this is one of my favourite games (despite all of its flaws)! Loved it as a kid and still kind of love it to this day. Not so much the film though...
Well hey, I'm only a few years younger than you. I grew up watching 4, 5, and 6 (almost literally) and I still love The Phantom Menace movie and the Attack of the Clones, even more so.
All I can say is I love them all equally. Many people just differ in opinion because the original had more what they wanted in movies, rather than the prequels.

Great review. Me and my younger sister remember playing this game fondly but as you say it was mostly for the fact you could turn Qui Gon into a mass murderer and kill half of Mos Espa... and Padme would actually comment on it! Also the crazy homeless types in Corusant... "Mean people die pretty quick down here!" And on Theed there was a room where you'd find a woman hiding in her house and if you insulted her by saying she should really lock her doors, battle droids show up and attack you mid conversation! Out of interest will you be doing a review of Star Wars Demolition? Another quirky game I remember coming out at that time. Or Jedi Power Battles - which was way more fun than this game.

Hey Suspect, can you review one of the Lego Star Wars games? Also, I get what you mean with the fall from great height and die. AVGN even referenced it.
not necessarily about that hating TPM if you had watched the OT before thing. i was a fully fledged Star Wars fan long before i watched TPM even though i was only 8 years old when it hit the screens. i first watched the original, unmodified version somewhere in 1995 or 1996, then in 1998 my father's friend lent me his VHS copies of the Special Edition and i watched the living fuck out of those tapes, i mean there was a Star Wars movie popped into my family VHS on every single day all throughout the summer of 1998. it was also when i played my first Star Wars game, Shadows of the Empire, and even though it would take me years before i would actually beat it, i played it a lot. before i went to see TPM, i was hyped up beyond belief, i would read every single scrap of promo material that was available. i still remember that 1999 summer (the movie wouldn't land in my country until September that year and i had no broadband internet to know the reactions of people who had already seen it), it was just awesome, Star Wars looking out of every corner, the weather was great... eh, good old times. um, anyway, when i watched TPM... i liked it, even if i preferred the original. and till this day i seem to remember it much more fondly than i do the other two prequels. about that game, i think i wouldn't start playing it until some time after Attack of the Clones, didn't finish it though, got stuck somewhere on Coruscant. but i liked it a lot, even if i couldn't get most of the dialogue (my English was piss poor at that time). it was a pirated PC copy of course (very few people had a PSX back then in my country and those who had rarely had the money to buy the games for it)
"Why would you play a Star Wars game and not be a Jedi?" Shadows of the Empire, Bounty Hunter, Republic Commando...

Star Wars Rogue Squadron for the N64 had a little voice acting.
Actually, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron is the 1998 Game of the Year. as well as Ocarina of Time and Banjo-Kazooie.
not necessarily about that hating TPM if you had watched the OT before thing. i was a fully fledged Star Wars fan long before i watched TPM even though i was only 8 years old when it hit the screens. i first watched the original, unmodified version somewhere in 1995 or 1996, then in 1998 my father's friend lent me his VHS copies of the Special Edition and i watched the living fuck out of those tapes, i mean there was a Star Wars movie popped into my family VHS on every single day all throughout the summer of 1998. it was also when i played my first Star Wars game, Shadows of the Empire, and even though it would take me years before i would actually beat it, i played it a lot.
before i went to see TPM, i was hyped up beyond belief, i would read every single scrap of promo material that was available. i still remember that 1999 summer (the movie wouldn't land in my country until September that year and i had no broadband internet to know the reactions of people who had already seen it), it was just awesome, Star Wars looking out of every corner, the weather was great... eh, good old times. um, anyway, when i watched TPM... i liked it, even if i preferred the original. and till this day i seem to remember it much more fondly than i do the other two prequels.
about that game, i think i wouldn't start playing it until some time after Attack of the Clones, didn't finish it though, got stuck somewhere on Coruscant. but i liked it a lot, even if i couldn't get most of the dialogue (my English was piss poor at that time). it was a pirated PC copy of course (very few people had a PSX back then in my country and those who had rarely had the money to buy the games for it)
