My Grandpa was born in Jerome, AZ in 1909. Before AZ was even a state. Worked in the mines working heavy equipment, and later as a trucker down in the Verde Valley, our little piece of Yavapai County. My father and I have lived here our whole lives. As a kid growing up in the 1980s in Virginia City Nevada I would go and watch my grandfather sing and play his guitar at a saloon called the bucket of blood and he would play this song. It is one of my favorite songs he did along with a song called Strawberry Roan and another song called Utah Carl.
This brought back a good memory of an old cowboy singin this song many years ago when I was in my late teens helpin push cows in Colorado. Thanks for the flashback, hell of a job singin it!
