I finally got League Pass this year just so I could watch more Denver games. Cause like, you can talk endlessly about his stats - and you should, they're totally bonkers - but watching him actually play makes the case even more forcefully. The guy is just unreal. Floating in these silly 15 foot high arcing hook shots out of double teams and you just watch and think "no way that's going in" and it does almost every time. Slinging no look passes between guys' legs or those baseball throws from one baseline to another with pinpoint accuracy. Watching Jokic play is a real joy, and unless something dramatic changes over the rest of the season, I can't imagine him not winning MVP.
You already know - Serbian Basketball Fan base (a few millions of us😁) will subscribe, sooner or later! If anyone can understand Serbian passion for this Sport - it would most definitely be some of You guys. Anyway - Joker you ask? You already said - it's NOT EVEN CLOSE! This should've been 5th MVP in a row, and everyone with a functional brain admit it! You should start GOAT discussion already... Great vid - Respect!
If u watch him last night < 3am for me lol> he back him self back and give his team m8s to ball. It was awesome, he took i think 9 shoots for all game.. Thats my MVP, let ur friends ball if they r good :) Sory for my English . . . Red Star 😇
Who knows maybe Embiid will cry for another MVP and Perk's gonna call everyone a racist again...i mean thats how he got his only MVP i wouldnt be surprised if he tries it again
You’re right, I said Wilt Chamberlain, but had Kareem in mind 🤦

I don't think that vote fatigue is a thing, they just sometimes give it to guy who did not really deserve to make big fuss, so fans get insane and they are all over the net fight against injustice in great numbers, while those corporations that year get extra money for people activity. But they can't do it offten, cos they will lose all integrity.
Not at all (disagreeing). I think they really should just give it to him now because Jokic will never have a bad game and will definitely break boundaries yet again. Despite a mediocre showing last game vs the Clips, he still remain efficient and he never really have to exert much effort in that game because his teammates already took over but we can pretty much assume that the Nuggets' second unit will not always have a good showing every night and Jokic will remain the heart that will pump life into his team. So yeah, I believe it's just all formality at this point. Jokic will get his fourth (or should be fifth) MVP, guaranteed.
Nah. If you include both regular season and play offs, yeah, Tim Duncan is right there, but looking only the regular season, 2003 wasn't even his best regular season of his career, it was 2002, that was his best MVP season. And Jokic in 2023 had better regular season than Duncan in 2003 and had literally as impressive play off run as Duncan so I yeah, 2003 is right there with Jokic's 2023 season, but Jokic's season is still better. As far as you mentioned 2016 season of Curry, Curry was incredible in regular season just like Jokic was in 2023, but Curry didn't win a title that season while Jokic won title and finals MVP soo Jokic's 2023 season is baove both 2003 and 2016 seasons od Duncan and Curry. But right now if you onpy talk about regular season, Duncan's 2003 regular season isn't on same stratosphere with Jokic's season this year😂😂😂😂 Jokic is miles better in regular season this year than Duncan in 2003 and that's not hyperbolic because Jokic is playing the greatest statistical season of all time right now whike like I said, Duncan's best MVP season was 2002. Same story about Steph, only unanimous MVP winner ever, but Jokic is even more insanee this regular season than Steph was.
The MVP race was “over” in favor of Jokic the year Embiid won it at this point in the season. The truth is, the last few weeks of the regular season matter waaay more than any other metric
SGA or Giannis should win the. MVP this time. Jokic is just a favorite because of his stats but SGA made his team rise to the top of the conference. MVP should also be considered if the team is winning if they are not playing. W/o SGA or Giannis their team will be at the bottom of the race,
As said in the video the nuggets are leading almost every stat when Jokic is on the court and at the very bottom when he isn't. So this isn't much of an argument since his team is just terrible and there is nothing he can do about it
The NBA killed the MVP award when they gave it to Westbrook. Before Westbrook , the MVP went to the best player on the top 3 seed team in the league. Now it's 100% narrative
"Best player on the best team" never made any damned sense for an individual award meant to measure a player's value to the team. Team record and seeding is NOT an individual achievement on a team packed with all-stars, like the Celtics. Without Jokic, the Nuggets are a terrible basketball team. With him, they are one of the best. When Shae turns in better numbers than Jokic does on a nightly basis, I'll likely consider him more worthy and valuable than Jokic. You may not like statistics, but they paint an accurate picture of court play that "narratives" (like the outright lie that Jokic is a poor defender) can never provide.
I think it became an award for the guy that deserved last yr award. I think shai should of got it last yr, and the yr before jokic should of got it, and then the yr before embiid should of got it. So if my calculations are right shai should get it this yr.
@@wyotriumphriderso if a guy from say the wizards had 38ppg, 30 rpg, and say 20apg, but the wizards were sitting at 10-72 by your sense that guy should get it right. To me he's really not that valuable if his team is losing. It's not the best stats award. It called the most valuable player award. So yes he should come from the top 4 teams. There's a reason the team is a top 4 team.
@OutsideTheNBAChannel no I just mean Shai is not like a lot of typical scoring guards. He plays within the team, plays both ends and is very efficient. Jokic is the best player in the league of course, I don't think anyone would argue that.
@@OutsideTheNBAChannelHow can jokic have the strongest case when he and KD both have 12 wins when they play Both their teams have 13 wins in total meaning without KD the sun's have won 1 game and without jokic the nuggets have won 1 game. But what really makes KD the MVP is that the suns are 1-9 without him and 12-2 with him vs the nuggets being 1-2 without jokic and 12-8 with him How can you argue that jokic is the MVP but then argue KD hasn't played enough or won enough to be the MVP but they still have the same amount of wins. Giannis, kd, and jokic have the same amount of wins when they play or just 1 game away from each other. KD has played 6-9 less games than both of them. So if kd can't be the MVP because 12 wins in 14 games played isn't enough why should Giannis or jokic be the MVPs with 12 wins in 16-19 games played

Very true, I should've emphasized he's a literal artist on a basketball court.
You gotta love when half of TH-cam nba can't stop talking about the mvp "race" while the main protagonist couldn't care less.
Facts
Thats race is OVER! Jokic is monster

Give a real team to this man!
Jokic!!!
Well put!
Don't underestimate how much the NBA and media doesn't want Jokic to be the face of the league.
Damn, it took me 2 months to find out that the guys from Basketnews have an NBA channel.
Welcome, welcome 🙌

Wait you that guy from sabonis land!
Yes indeed 🇱🇹
imagineImagine Jokic gets same treatment as LeBron, them numbers would skyrocket
Didn't Kareem win an MVP on the Lakers while they missed the playoffd, correct my i'm wrong.

if denver start to play beter it is not over he is going to play only 30 min to rest and he will get less stats

Removing KCP was the stupidest move ever.

Yeah but it wasn't even that bad cuz sometimes you just have worse teammates while others have better
Idemooo...
Jokic could equal Kareem with 6 mvp awards
This got you a Joker sub😅
Welcome to the club!
@@OutsideTheNBAChannel welcome to the machine
Giannis!!!!!!!
Too early to say. Nuggets are inconsistent. Shai and OKC are consistently good. He's a great team player too.
Because the team not NJ.
@allworksnew agree but you don't get to be MVP if you're on an average team
You said it as if Jokic isn’t 😄 Nah, but I get it. He definitely should have the strongest case… AFTER Jokic of course
@OutsideTheNBAChannel no I just mean Shai is not like a lot of typical scoring guards. He plays within the team, plays both ends and is very efficient. Jokic is the best player in the league of course, I don't think anyone would argue that.

so you are Lithuanian ?
Yup, hence the channel name 🇱🇹👀
He's the best but won't be mvp with a 50% team
Idk I think SGA will give him a run for his money in a year or 2
🤣
Don’t sleep on the Nuggets just yet.
Giannis is somewhere laughing??????? in what position hes team is???giannis is scoring 32 points 21 in paint with out even a three......
