      But apparently it’s only for rich disabled people. Poor disabled people should just go without makeup apparently. Which sucks, because disabled people are more likely to be poor than the General abled population. I just can’t justify $80 for a liquid eyeliner. Not when I live on a pension.
      Edit: it’s only $50 for the eyeliner. Which is still about $40 too much for me.

    Thank you for addressing the fact that not everyone can be vegan. I'm mostly vegan, occasionally eat eggs and dairy (dairy is extremely rare), but I've come across many a vegan who thinks everyone can be vegan. That's just not true, for a variety of reasons. I'm happy you're making this transition for your cosmetics :)

    • @ashley3461
      @ashley3461 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Well anyone can be vegan. That part is true. But not everyone is healthy being on a plant based diet. You can still apply the philosophy of veganism to other areas of your life by not buying fur, leather, feathers, etc and checking to see if your cosmetics and household items (they even test on and put animal ingredients in laundry detergent and softener). So there are many other ways to make a difference and ethical choices.

      As I understand, veganism is by definition "a way of living which SEEKS to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose".
      If you do what you can, then: Thank you!! Take care of yourself so you can help others!

    • @majabailey1233
      @majabailey1233 4 ปีที่แล้ว +52

      Blanca Moorgate exactly! People should only feel like they have to do what they are capable of and what is healthy for them and yet when I bring that up it almost always causes huge argument where people just assume that I’m lying or not trying hard enough which subsequently makes me an evil murderer.

    • @emmarose2385
      @emmarose2385 4 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      As someone who is vegan and follows the low fodmap diet so my diet is very restrictive I don't personally think that people are intentionally trying to emotionally blackmail people. Being vegan is about choosing to live the least harmful path for the environment and animals. If you can't follow a vegan diet perfectly no sane person would be blaming you. Not everyone can be vegan, but a lot of people can and just don't want to is the thing. Technically my medicine isn't vegan but there are just certain necessities I have to make exceptions for.

    • @jwb52z9

      To the vegans saying veganism is only about cutting out animal products where possible and safe to do so, I get that YOU see that, but sadly not all vegans do, and some have gone really crazy insisting that ANYONE can go vegan. It's also not just physical health. Money plays a factor, as does mental health. I have a lesser-known eating disorder and so many vegan staples are things I simply can't force myself to eat. Not "I just don't like it" - my brain will not allow me to swallow it and a panic attack is gonna happen if someone tries to force the issue. Sane vegans, thank you for understanding, but be aware that not every vegan is that rational and if we tense up around you when you first mention you're vegan, this is why.

    Cruelty free liquid lipsticks with good formulas (some with non cf parent companies):
    NYX (the liquid suedes in Kitten Heels and a shade called Cherry pie or Cherry Skies or something)
    CoverGirl (has a similar 2 step system to your beloved Maybelline one with MANY red shades)
    Flower beauty (I found the Scarlet shade a smidge uncomfortable, but might be the dry down you're looking for)
    Pixi (too drying for some people and not a lot of product)
    Persona (I own their red shade and love it even though it won't last through greasy food from the oils in it)
    Ofra (Atlantic City is popular)
    Stila (beso and fiery are cult favorites)
    TheBalm (doesn't dry down all the way)
    Smashbox (toes the line between comfortable and budge proof)
    Juvias Place (lasts well without the lip prune effect)
    Julep (more of a mousse, less budge proof formula)
    Red Apple Lipstick ("cleaner" product that actually works)
    HOPE THIS HELPS!

      I love nyx lip products for the most part, but I have had bad experience with the liquid suedes, they take so long to dry and are so thick and crusty. When I first got one it took nearly 5 minutes to dry 😬 I'm glad they work for other people though.

    I find it extremely hard to navigate this because the EU has made it illegal to sell or advertise “any cosmetic product whose final product and ingredients have been tested on animals” even if the testing has been done outside of EU territory.
    So in theory every lipstick available to me should be cruelty free. But then they somehow also sell in China which requires animal testing and I just honestly don't understand how that works.
    How do you sell a product that simultaneously has and hasn't been tested on animals?

    • @DiannaAngela
      @DiannaAngela 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Because post market testing in China doesn't directly involve the production process, they're allowed to call it cruelty free. Its a shitty loophole companies use/abuse.
      I don't use any brands that sells in China as I refuse to support any potential animal testing and brands who knows the possibility of their products being tested but goes ahead anyway, and still claim cf status.
