Really wish I could share your sentiments for Macmillan. They did absolutely nothing for my dad when he was diagnosed with and passed away from stomach cancer in 2012. Never turned up for visits when they said they would, failed in every way to help him financially and when we made initial contact the rep they sent out was more interested in securing monthly donations from us than discussing what help and support he may need.

Tesco does a great meal deal. They have choices of mains like sandwiches or sushi for example. With that you get a range of snack choices like crisps (not chips) or you can have a bag of prepared fruit or salad pieces for example. And with your choice of main & snack you get a drink. That can be water, fruit juice, a healthier drink or even a Starbucks cold coffee. So you get 3 things which would normally come to over £5 ($7) & you only pay £3 (around ($5.) So if you ever come here, I suggest you go to a Tesco and get a meal deal. You will be pleasantly surprised at the range of choices for it.

Two things you may not have known with the adverts:
    1. We usually have 3 mins of adverts between programmes and the same in the intervals during a programme. A 30 min programme would have one batch, a 60 min programme would have around three batches.
    2. In the UK all prices are inclusive of the VAT (what you call sales tax or goods and services tax) so when you see a price on an advert, that would be the full total price.
Something you might find interesting to check out is the postage/mail system in the UK and how postcodes (what you call zip codes) work here.

The reason its pronounced v(ih)tamin and not v(eye)tamin is because there is no modifying vowel, take the words sit and site the e modifies the i's normal sound from (ih) to (eye). Even in the UK the quality of English language teaching has nosedived over the last 30 years or so, so not many get taught how vowels, double vowels and modifying vowels work anymore.

A lot of those ads are international ones that get a local dub (like the car ones, Werthers and Jennifer Aniston in the Aveena one) rather than proper British ads.
(Also, laughing slightly that you didn't recognise Jennifer Aniston)

We pronounce so many things differently - Vitamins, Aluminium, Nuclear, Herbs - but we've become conditioned to hearing you lot mispronouncing them, more than you have to hearing us say them properly. ;)
Some Xmas commercials are a decent shout, or you could watch some older classic ads. Or if you wanted to go down a more challenging viewing experience, you could always watch some of our PSA's

Crisps are called that because they are thin slices of potato fried until they are CRISP! Chips are sticks of potato fried till they are cooked and golden to eat hot as part of a meal - or just on their town

Chips are what you have with fish, chunkier version of fries. Crisps are thin fried potatoes, they are crispy hence the name.

You might have missed something about the advert with with the boy who you didn't understand saying heart (it doesn't show up well on a smaller screen). He'd had heart problems as a baby and had an operation to fix it, the reason they have him take his top off is to show the scar.
