I proudly own a pair of PLX-1000 turntables, after owning 1210s for many years. I have been DJing on them constantly for months now and can honestly say they are the best thing I have bought since buying new decks all those years ago...pitch control is very accurate, the wow and flutter, due to a typo in the spec sheet, is actually 0.01, which is the same as Technics. The torque, platter and tonearm are excellent to use, one tonearm on one turntable, slightly and I mean slightly rattles with bearings, but it is no bother, as the sound is still really excellent, as is the tracking, as they say, better a tad loose than too tight...you can scratch at any point of a record and nothing phases it, and no vibration either, i love them, only thing i would have maybe waited for is the new Denon VL12 prime, which also looks excellent...i can't fault them
I would like to listen to your mixtape or set using them compared to your older technics DJ mixes , I've had these plx1000 and they are complete crap for mixing vinyl on, not even close to old technics turntable
Same as you in respect to having Technics for the most part of 20 years, I’ve never been afraid to try new turntables, and having had PLX 1000’s for three years now I can safely say they are far superior to any pair of techs I owned. They hold a mix perfectly and just as importantly they are aesthetically pleasing to look at. No complaints from me.
I've bought a PLX 1000 and I've compared them to my old SL 1200 MK2. While aesthetic and torque of the former are unvaluable, I must say that the precision of PLX 1000 is lower than that of my old MK2. With the term "precision" I mean two things: 1) Wow & Flutter of PLX 1000 lies between 50 and 100 percent more than that of MK2, based on comparable measurements (whose absolute value might be debatable, but the relative on is undoubtedly fair); 2) Pitch granularity is finer on MK2 than on PLX based on the ability to match a precise beat sampled using a digital metronome. Conclusion: I am up to sell my PLX 1000.
well, i'm sold then, i sold my 1200's 15 years ago, and after a relapse of life, i'm back in the djing game (all be it the digital world at mo) i'm craving to get back on vinyl, but the cost of some technics 1210 or 1200 MK2's is frightning!! especially when the parts are getting so expensive too. think i'll give these pioneers a go, i love these reviews because they are so to the point and true, between you and jamie hartley at crossfader, i haven't made a bad purchase yet!!!!! TOP WORK!!
What I don't understand is if all these other turntable companies are still producing turntables and even bringing out new models, why hasn't Technics responded by bringing back into production the 1210 Mk2, which was the best selling turntable they produced..!!
I don't know. Have a Technics SL-1210-MK7. Got it 2 weeks ago but have no Cartridge yet. Vinyl sounds better than CD or USB for that matter or any digital shit. Have 250 Vinyls.
I also have a pair of PLX1000's, they are an excellent turntable and I can't say anything bad about them. I think the main problem is Technics(Panasonic) made such a good turntable, it was difficult to surpass the experience of using one. The problem being the new Technics are very expensive and parts for second hand 1210's are also expensive. My only problem was I bought Reloop Concorde needles which were rubbish, these have been replaced with Shure M44G Carts which are excellent.
My view is that year 2010 when Pioneer gained the blueprints for the Technics there was a jump in quality. The 2014 PLX 1000 doesn't follow these Technics blueprints other than outside appearance. Pioneer completely redesigned the turntable. It has nothing extra. All that matters is functionality and high quality sound in a pretty appearance. Power, silence, sound quality. No gimmicks. Only PHONO out for the best quality sound. There are teardowns videos that can be compared and the PLX 1000 is a very simple and rugged construction making it an easy and cost effective to service. Compared to Technics that is claimed to be a technicians nightmare and very cheaply made ( go figure total U turn what you usually hear). For some reason all of these being Hanpin TT's the Technics sell by the name and what I can see the Pioneer is better quality yet so much cheaper. Technics seems to follow the old concept even that they are different from model to model but there are lot of Frankenstein TT's put together using whatever was available and yet you could mix and match different models. That makes buying second hand a bit risky. To me it also tells that whatever changes were done to the TT's it wasn't a day and night change that makes me question the pricing. The point I'm trying to make the Technics from 40-50 years ago were a Rolls Royce. The same table today is Audio Technica. Today there are so many new and improved TT's on the market that cost lot less.
2014 the TT was sold as 13.1 kg. 2022 the manual gives 14.6 kg but I just bought the PLX 1000 year 2023 at 15.5 kg (dust cover and rubber mat on). No tonearm loose bearings and platter wobble is hardly noticeable fraction of 1 mm. So in reality perfect. The weight does puzzle me. Seems that there has been improvements as lot of reviews always point to the rubber matting of the Technics even that the power and electrics are not shielded by this matting. Pioneer does have a heavy matting inside under the tonearm that has a function considering the placement of the power/electronics but maybe the Pioneer has improved this to add more weight (or the weight was measured different with or without the platter, dust cover, rubber mat). I don't know and won't pull it apart to see either. But the TT is in very high quality. I would get the PLX 1000 before the Technics SL-1200GR for example. I think you get a better TT plus you save a crazy amount of coin.
Great review! I had sold my M3Ds back in early 2000 to help pay for some text books I needed for college. I am looking to get back into spinning and these look pretty damn cool (and don't cost as much as trying to get back the M3Ds).
I've been djing for over years,Technics 1200's are the best but the Pioneer PLX 1000's are a very close second I own a pair of both the 1200's are retired, but I bang the hell out of the PLX's I just love them
Placebo effect towards Technics. Nothing new. I get it it is what you are use to. But in all seriousness the PLX 1000 has been improved in every way compared and yet lot cheaper. Technics sells with name only and you are a living proof of that. Once you had the Pioneer a bit go back to the Technics. That's where you can find the difference and you would just have the sentimental value left.
Thanks for a informative and detailed review, after 25 years of mixing house music ive hung up my white gloves and im planning to get some vinyl turntables to mix hip hop and master the art of scratching. Do you think they would be as good for that as the Technics? I like that they are heavier for even better stability but i think when it finally comes down to it i will end up on eBay buying old MK2's but this has deffinately made me consider going and testing the pioneers before buying, but i had this battle 20+ years ago with the amazing turntables vestax used to sell but i still always chose technics back then!
First off I own a technics. Yes I am a lucky girl. It needs a friend and suffice it to say I cannot find any bad PR on the PLX with any substance to back it up. Yet instead find 40+ years of workmanship cum loyal ownership of pioneer decks of all grades. I'm buying the PLX for just around $630 thru an authorized dealer and feel way smarter than dropping coin on another technics.
hi mojack, pitch control are harder to handle compare with 1200, same thing with the rpm, the rpm jump and down when turning. please give a review regarding pitch control and the rpm stability.
I had the 1200 mk2 and 1210 mk2 and 1210s m5g and I bought a pair of the plx1000 and OMG the best TT I have ever own all around built like a tank , I'm not hating on tech
D J Bodhi So do you Recommend i get them,Ihave a pair of mk3 i bought used in Japan but its fucking up,Got them repaired and still fucking up so i said fuck it,Im looking into something new,
Anthony Vega I have them ,and there built Solid ,the Pitch Fader gets a little getting use to ,but when you do ,its a Good turntable.I have a Technics Mk3D next to the Plx1000 and have been doing Good sets
How would you describe the surface noise of this turntable when playing back? Thinking of buying one with a nice cart as an audiophile turntable, rather than for DJ use. Is it nice and quiet?
You should do an update video on this - Technics 1200 MK7 cost $999 and the Pioneer PLX-1000 is now $599 - would you spend an extra $400 per table for the Technics name?
The Mk7 has the better motor and a somewhat more robust tonearm. Super OEM tonearms tend to bend quite easily during DJing. But that's about it. If I had the cash to spend, I'd get the Technics. If I were on a tight budget, I'd get myself a Reloop 7000 Mk2. If I were looking for something to integrate into a home HiFi setup, I'd get the Pioneer mostly for its looks 🤷🏼♂️
@@high_fidelity_stuff you should ask all the DJs playing super clubs…. Andy C @ XOXO for example; how’s that feedback working out. You believe what some guy on youtube says, and disregard what is actually happening.
The March 2015 issue of Stereophile gave a glowing review of the PLX-1000. But even the Stereophile reviewer felt compelled to have his tech buddy tighten what the reviewer called the "way loose" tonearm bearings. Pioneer, I charge for servicing and repairs. If you want me to fix your turntable for you, I expect you to deduct my labor costs from the asking price for your product.
I unfortunately sold my 1200s years ago. If any of you have these.. would recommend them or pick up a used pair of 1200s? I’ve been really wanting to get back to vinyl. DDJ-SX2 isn’t fun anymore.
I wonder is the newer made technics are as good as the ones they made before they stopped production? My stanton t92 has had issues with the rca ourputs ever since i got it couple years ago.
Needed to sell my mk2s (as we call them rather than 1200 here) 10 years ago.. now I am not willing to pay 1 grand for technics looks like an amazing alternative so far
Great review!! I was thinking of buying the Audio Technica AT120Lp but now im considering buying the pioneer plx 500. Any thoughts? I read many reviews of the AT with many issues. I'm not a Dj i just listen to records.
Laz kang this is exactly what I want as well,as I enjoy listening to my records and my current turntable is old and don’t want to invest in shit, then piss around finding a decent stylus!
But don't the Pioneer's have added pitch ranges unlike the original Technics 1200's or any Technics model below the M5G's. Would of been helpful to mention. Great review otherwise :)
I have had one for about 4 years now and other than the pitch lock they seem comparable to my 1210's with one exception the finish has started to wear off the edges of the top face plate. I have had my 1210.s for well over 3 decades and they look like new.
The Reloop RP7000/RP8000 MK2 are is the closest your going to get to Technic SL1210's. The RP range have higher torque and morw feathers so even better and the best thing about is a pair will cost just over £1000 for the 7000's or £1200 for the 8000's. Its a no brainer.
Has anyone mentioned that these are heavy as hell! I messed with one in the store and it was like a cinder block! I can't imagine 2 of these and a mixer in a flight case, it'd be a 2-man lift for sure!
I like the pioneer 1000 plx they are great turntables it feel like the 1200 technic i felt like home is good for tuurntablelist too for any DJ i like them very good truntable n the price it's not bad at all all battle DJ use it n they like it too like qbert mix master mike n other
I can not honestly see one of these Pioneer turntables out living the LEGENDARY! standard, main reason is Pioneer is a mere shadow of what it once was, ever since the script style changed on Pioneer they have been nothing like the old stuff and let's be frank about this hardly anything made these days lasts as it's made to a price and not to a standard like things used to be and there is no way on this earth that a Pioneer made now is gonna still be spinning in 20-30 years time like some of these Technics are
You can't drag Super OEM to after parties and expect them to last like the early Technics, tone arm and gimble quality let's them down , fine for leaving them in one place. Ime running a pair of AudioTechnica LP1240s, after owning Technics MK2 and M3Ds they do the BUSINESS !!
I'm seeing videos, where only the turntables have been described but, not thoroughly demonstrated. Especially on the mixing aspect, and those two second - so called "quick mixing/track dropping", doesn't count. I would like to see any of those turntables be demonstrated, and tested to the fullest. So that way people can get a better understanding of the way each turntable works.
What about feedback from plx1000 I saw review where guy actually open one and ok its not best Pionner can do but the biggest problem was a massive feedback.... Any opinion on that please ?
I have seen the same post on TH-cam and it put me off for a while, in the end I bought a pair and I do not encounter feedback and the metallic finish on the Pioneer PLX1000 is excellent.
The difference, if not in the performance, is that many technics have been battered at raves for the last 30 years and still work. Until pioneer can prove the same durability, the clear choice if you want a long lasting deck is the Technics. You'd have to have some seriously impressive new features to persuade most technics owners to switch.
The feedback from pioneer Plx turntable is just unreal. Terrible that pioneer would release it. Yet again flooding the market with sub standard over price junk. £1000+ for a pair. I'll never get rid of my technics 1210.
Great video many thanks! Does anyone know if the Pioneer PLX-1000 have a reverse function? Maybe via internal settings or something? Seems to be the only thing missing... Thanks!
TRUE WHAT HE SAYS WHY WOULD YOU GET RID OF YOUR TECHNICS AND GET THESE PIONEERS BUT IF YOU NEVER HAD TURNTABLES AND CANT GET A PAIR OF TECHNICS AND ARE LOOKING TO GET INTO TURNTABLES THEN THESE WILL BE THE WAY TO GO.
The best DJ Tables in my opinion are the Technics SL 1200 MK2 & Gemini PT 2410 They both have low Wow and Flutter 0.01. They both have good Torque Techs 1.5 and the Gemini PT 2.2. The are both very quiet Turntables at a Rumble of -75 db. The thing I dont like about the Stantons and the Pioneer is that 4.5 Torque in my opinion that is too much Torque and in my opinion they are not as smooth for mixing like the Technics SL 1200' series and the Gemini PT 2100 to 2410 series. I also will say that the Gemini PT 2410 is the best looking Turntable in my opinion as well. Many have not tried the Gemini PT 2410 but if they did they would know it actually is the best DJ Turntable. Slightly edging the Technics SL 1200 by looks but both perform with 5 stars. But hey any very good DJ can rock a party with any Turntable that is Direct Drive and has a good pitch control. I just feel 4.5 Torque is too much.
I really want the new techs but i'm not dishing out $8000 for a pair. that's a lot of money that could be used for music or maybe a nice vacation lol. I love my 1200's and the new plx's I got.
That dude is full of shit and lied about the reverb feedback Mojaxx did the same test and that didn't happen so please, not to mention I looked into it, Tech repairs is all soldering, where as the Pioneer is unplug and swap out the part, please do research on an item before throwing it under a buss, these were used in the Red Bull #3 style 2016 and preformed outstandingly!
Over priced but of course is Pioneer. If there were $499.99 I might go for it. But no, thanks...A good solid turntable at a good solid expensive price. Bah!!!
There's is a plx -1000 by me for a $100 that seems way low on the price it needs a needle cartridge does anyone make knockoffs of these tables it looks exactly like the one your showing is there anything I should look for The guy said he can let me here it play with another cartridge but I will have to buy my own
The Technics took a lot of R&D to come to its eventual state in its day, the Pioneer is unfortunately a very poor modern copy, come on Pioneer, you must be kidding yourself to think you can just come up with a cheap plastic unit to match up to a legendary turntable, after all you were one of the top manufacturers, making your own top quality turntables, CD players, cassette decks, tuners, amplifiers in your heyday, so you must know how much R&D you had to invest, just because today's kids don't listen to the qualities of yesteryears, doesn't mean you can drop your standards and get away with it, after all we "oldies of the yesteryears" are still around, it wasn't that long ago, and we don't forget good quality reproduction just because the world is awash with MP3s and iphones
i feel you, im 17 in high school, i do use traktor for djing, but nothing beat playing some vinyl on good technics speakers and a Rock solid technics amp, its a shame how nobody cares about quality these days.
It's not plastic it's aluminium die cast and the same as a tech and of course it's cheaper in a sense it's a mass produced Hanpin design, I love the Tech lovers who refuse to give credit to other products on the market the TT will do just fine and you kinda have to make a TT and have out for 20 years to see if it will last 20 years, the Staton ST150 is 10 years strong and is an awesome heavy duty TT, I think in all fairness for the design and price and the 4 times more torque it is worth it, it comes with replacement warranty where as a Tech is not, they are no longer in production, yes you can get parts and yes you can send it out to have some one replace parts with knock offs but fuck that I want assurance that my money was well spent on an item that is covered for 10 years to come!
+Vaping Fanatic it won't do fine, because it's digital pitchfader is a fatal flaw. Look into it yourself, other reviewers are more upfront about this glaring issue. Close but no cigar unfortunately. On a sidenote, I get what you're saying about dj elitism and brand loyalty, however, technics are actually that good *despite* any bias or brand loyalty. They have undeniably earned that reputation and trust.
I must say, having used The Stanton, The Audio Technica, The Pioneer and The old Technics......I actually prefer the build and performance of The Reloop RP7000 and RP8000 machines. In my opinion, the best value for money of the lot. As for The brand new Technics......have not actually used it. But the price is a joke. If it was built like a professional broadcast turntable....fair enough.....but it ain't, so in my opinion, its going to be way overpriced.
Hi ya.......do not understand why you could not read the remainder of my comments........will try again, I cannot understand why the new Technics turntable has been placed at such a very high price point. Its not built to anywhere near the standard of a Professional Broadcast Turntable......but the price is very close to that. Technics need to be realistic with their price...how many Club DJ's will be able to afford it? Also, it ain't a product of Audiophile quality ( especially the Pickup Arm ) , so it is no good aiming it at this market........because there a better machines around.
Sound is amazing! I got the low end of the Concorde carts and the dynamics are just to die for. Of course, if you have a crappy receiver, speakers and speaker wire any high quality turntable is gonna sound lousy. Good test albums for sound are West Side Story soundtrack and anything by Henry mancini. :)
inthe7thhouse How does this thing track? I have to do archiving, and sometimes the records have pretty bad warps in them. I'm not real confident about the ability of these heavy, S-shaped tonearms to stay in the groove under adverse conditions.
Aintry1 This is a Dj table, designed to be put through lots of punishment at clubs. If you use the Concorde carts, this TT will ride those grooves like a pro surfer. I can't guarantee that with a regular box-shaped cart.
I really dislike haters! They bring nothing to the discussion except their warped ideas of facts (or lack of them). Marantz, Denon, Pioneer, Onkyo, Monitor Audio, Paradigm, etc. etc. etc. Have plants in China because they can hire a workforce that has a technical background. The Pioneer has really found a home with Audiophiles for being able to whip VPI and some others for a third of the price. Some prat buys a cheap turntable made in China and makes a giant leap that all turntables made there are bad. Wake up fool, the Chinese are moving past some of the so called technically advanced nations. I don't bash the Technics, and I hope every street urchin will buy their new three pound anniversary model. I made a cock up buying a Rega RP1, and I'm waiting for replacement tonearm wires to do it properly. Yeah those Chinese really make bad stuff, yeah really!!
So that's the point? Why did we have things made in Japan 1960's - Because the labor was cheap, or the work ethic of the people. Anyone who doubts the power of the Chinese will be awakened to a new world. Yes the labor is less now, but the education of the people is very high, just like in Japan.
don't buy these. Unless for casual listening or scratching, the digital pitchfader is NOT good for mixing. This reviewer either didn't actually try proper long mixes on it, or is withholding this tidbit, but that digital pitchfader behaves nothing like the all analog technics.
I call BS. As a 20 year plus Technics DJ, I’ve had a set of these for over three years and they haven’t missed a beat, and yes I mix (they hold a mix perfectly,) better than a 1210/1210.
Glad you guys got this guy. I know he's a veteran by even mentioning the "dead spot" on the 1200 pitch adjustment around 0. Pro!
***** which 1200 had the dead spot?

D J Bodhi So do you Recommend i get them,Ihave a pair of mk3 i bought used in Japan but its fucking up,Got them repaired and still fucking up so i said fuck it,Im looking into something new,
@@alexsanchez3635 did you get the plx 1000s ?
Anthony Vega Yeah
@@alexsanchez3635 I'm getting them for mixing ,I heard they are as good as the old 12mk5..is that true
Anthony Vega I have them ,and there built Solid ,the Pitch Fader gets a little getting use to ,but when you do ,its a Good turntable.I have a Technics Mk3D next to the Plx1000 and have been doing Good sets
Great review, buddy is very honest,he explained exactly what i was looking for :)
How would you describe the surface noise of this turntable when playing back? Thinking of buying one with a nice cart as an audiophile turntable, rather than for DJ use. Is it nice and quiet?
so would you get the plx1000 or st150 or reloop rp7000
Beautiful Turntable
@DJTechTools Cool video thanks! How would you compare this turntable to Technics MK7??
You believe what some guy on youtube says, and disregard what is actually happening.

do the dots stay absolutely steady? ive had problems on previous turntables where the dots would wander back and forth.
What about sound quality? I heard theres a lot of feedback...
would rather buy a pair of Turntable Pioneer PLX-1000
I owned MK5 but now I am getting to buy new turntables between SL1200MK7 and PLX-1000. which one should I purchase between these 2 nice turntables?
I have the same doubts 😅
PLX1000 is solid than mk7. mk7 sounds like a empty pot and feel cheap
@@djwisesound
Hi Cris do you know how good is the Roland TT 909 turntable is I am Linzy for Trinidad
But don't the Pioneer's have added pitch ranges unlike the original Technics 1200's or any Technics model below the M5G's. Would of been helpful to mention. Great review otherwise :)
Technics for life!!!!
Pioneer Plx1000 rules
Can I connect directly into a receiver if I just use it at home?
I have had one for about 4 years now and other than the pitch lock they seem comparable to my 1210's with one exception the finish has started to wear off the edges of the top face plate. I have had my 1210.s for well over 3 decades and they look like new.
The Reloop RP7000/RP8000 MK2 are is the closest your going to get to Technic SL1210's. The RP range have higher torque and morw feathers so even better and the best thing about is a pair will cost just over £1000 for the 7000's or £1200 for the 8000's. Its a no brainer.
Reloop rp7000 has ground issues and its hums on the external preamp what a shame
@@6Rhyme PLX 1000 refined from Reloop and step up. Only PHONO out so no problems.
@@paulboyce8537 True thats why i have the Plx1000 👍🏼
Has anyone mentioned that these are heavy as hell! I messed with one in the store and it was like a cinder block! I can't imagine 2 of these and a mixer in a flight case, it'd be a 2-man lift for sure!
+analher what vid is that, I'd like to see it? I'm still rocking the same 1210's I've had since '97!
I like the pioneer 1000 plx they are great turntables it feel like the 1200 technic i felt like home is good for tuurntablelist too for any DJ i like them very good truntable n the price it's not bad at all all battle DJ use it n they like it too like qbert mix master mike n other
out of the 3 what one do you like better?
Those would look great next to your Pioneer CDJ. You'd also look like a sponser.
Curious- if you compare the new Technics 1200s MK7 to the PLX-1000. I would think the PLX would come out on top. The MK7 feels a little cheap.
Do you think a 2000 technics is as godas 1200?
How heavy is it? - anything like the old Technics 1210's Mk2
A bit heavier actually
Would you recommend the 500 as well?
nope. 500 is so cheap.
The différence between Technics SL 1200 and 1210 please?
The SL1210 is the black version and the SL1200 is silver
Do you know if the plx1000 has an inbuilt phono amplifier ?
No
@@6Rhyme do you know who does know ?
What about the sound quality?
I can not honestly see one of these Pioneer turntables out living the LEGENDARY! standard, main reason is Pioneer is a mere shadow of what it once was, ever since the script style changed on Pioneer they have been nothing like the old stuff and let's be frank about this hardly anything made these days lasts as it's made to a price and not to a standard like things used to be and there is no way on this earth that a Pioneer made now is gonna still be spinning in 20-30 years time like some of these Technics are
whats the weight ? is the pioneer like the technics like the old days. you could through a 1210 off a building and it'll still work
Iirc the plx1000 weighs more than the 1200
Review: Pioneer PLX-1000 Turntable, Comparison to Technics 1200
You can't drag Super OEM to after parties and expect them to last like the early Technics, tone arm and gimble quality let's them down , fine for leaving them in one place.
Ime running a pair of AudioTechnica LP1240s, after owning Technics MK2 and M3Ds they do the BUSINESS !!
I heard it has a serious feedback.
Oscar Northington who said that ? where you hear it?
I would match the PLX 1000 against SL 1200GR even that the Technics is 3 times more coin. Pioneer has an excellent sound quality for the audiophile.
I want to ask. Finally Which is better pioneer plx 1000 or technics?
Technics SL-12x0 mk2 is better. Although PLX-1000 looks more modern.
Is the face plate metal like the technics or are they plastic like the PLX - 500?
Its aluminium die cast
The difference, if not in the performance, is that many technics have been battered at raves for the last 30 years and still work. Until pioneer can prove the same durability, the clear choice if you want a long lasting deck is the Technics. You'd have to have some seriously impressive new features to persuade most technics owners to switch.
Hands down the Denon vl12 is the TRUE Winner.
The feedback from pioneer Plx turntable is just unreal.
Terrible that pioneer would release it. Yet again flooding the market with sub standard over price junk. £1000+ for a pair. I'll never get rid of my technics 1210.
+jakkin333 You cant really get a pair technics 1210 cheaper than 1000. (if can then without cartridges)
TECHNICS TILL I DIE LOL
Hey can you do a compartment with the Pioneer PLX-500-K with the 1000 and sl1200
I have gone through two PLX-500. Platter just stops spinnning. Looking for Tech but might consider Plx- 1000. Motor gives out quick on 500
how are you not even going to address the pitch fader in a review/comparison/contrast w/ the 1200?
Do not for get to ground them for also ground with a shielded ground wire also use Monster RCA Wires.
Hi, this Pioneer PLX-1000 is Made in China or original Made in Japan? ...nice turntable of course...
Background track ID? Someone..
Is this a good living room turntable?
Probably overkill for a living room, especially with respect to price.
hi friend, what stylus do you recommend me for the pioneer?, dj purpose, thx for posting !!!

Ortofon Is great
great review...as a 3rd deck for lounge chillin...is it made of hard plastic or the heavyweight material of the 1200t
Great video many thanks! Does anyone know if the Pioneer PLX-1000 have a reverse function? Maybe via internal settings or something? Seems to be the only thing missing... Thanks!
it doesn't
Where is this manufactured? Japan or China?
Japan
Have you started seeing this as the new standard when playing at the clubs over there in Europe?
I like the Pionner turntable. But i want it to have a line in.
If It don't have reverse, or braking adjust how can it be a super OEM turntable.
Way better product than the 1200. cheaper, better built and higher pitch range.
I really want the new techs but i'm not dishing out $8000 for a pair. that's a lot of money that could be used for music or maybe a nice vacation lol. I love my 1200's and the new plx's I got.
hangover2000 are the plx's any good ?
Made In Japan ? or China ?
The Bright Pixel does a great review on these, including disassembling and looking at the internals. These are nothing special.
Bah!!!
Glad I bought my 1200M3Ds over 10 years ago for $399 a pop.
+Night Elektron you sound really happy about it.
There's is a plx -1000 by me for a $100 that seems way low on the price it needs a needle cartridge does anyone make knockoffs of these tables it looks exactly like the one your showing is there anything I should look for The guy said he can let me here it play with another cartridge but I will have to buy my own
Any chance of a plx 500 review?
👍🏾
Dj Zelous Thank you Dj Zelous. Keep up with it and all the best.
+Tony Chang well said man!
These turntables suck to everybody, but dj grandmaster flash and jazzy jeff take these same turntables on tour.
If it was built like a .... ?? cant read the rest of your sentence
Also, it ain't a product of Audiophile quality ( especially the Pickup Arm ) , so it is no good aiming it at this market........because there a better machines around.
no word about the sound quality? what can you say?
Sound is amazing! I got the low end of the Concorde carts and the dynamics are just to die for. Of course, if you have a crappy receiver, speakers and speaker wire any high quality turntable is gonna sound lousy. Good test albums for sound are West Side Story soundtrack and anything by Henry mancini. :)
inthe7thhouse How does this thing track? I have to do archiving, and sometimes the records have pretty bad warps in them. I'm not real confident about the ability of these heavy, S-shaped tonearms to stay in the groove under adverse conditions.
Aintry1
This is a Dj table, designed to be put through lots of punishment at clubs. If you use the Concorde carts, this TT will ride those grooves like a pro surfer. I can't guarantee that with a regular box-shaped cart.
OK, thanks.

+D. Paul Riderman Most companies primary reason to manufacture in China is a workforce at a significantly reduced cost.
So that's the point? Why did we have things made in Japan 1960's - Because the labor was cheap, or the work ethic of the people. Anyone who doubts the power of the Chinese will be awakened to a new world. Yes the labor is less now, but the education of the people is very high, just like in Japan.
Technics is KING..I've had my 1200mk2 for 15 years brand spanking new! Would love to buy the Technics GAE but $4k???? Pfff shit marketing.
GTRMO34 ditto. got both my 1200MK2s brand new in ‘05 and i’m never getting rid of them. they’re still like brand new!

The requirement of ground connection and higher price compared to the competition was bit of a deal breaker for me.
don't buy these. Unless for casual listening or scratching, the digital pitchfader is NOT good for mixing. This reviewer either didn't actually try proper long mixes on it, or is withholding this tidbit, but that digital pitchfader behaves nothing like the all analog technics.
