    I have no problem doing long beat mixes with the digital pitch on the Pioneer that some people in these comments say sucks. I get it 1200's are nice but I often think people let there love for them blind them or make them biased.

    Great review and I'm glad to see that you picked up on the PLX-1000 arm! I'm looking for a turntable and I'm wanting to stay away from the Music Hall / Pro-ject / Rega offerings in that price range. Would you recommend the Pioneer PLX 1000 direct drive for home use or is there another direct drive TT that you prefer?

    You sold me on the Pioneer when you said the Stanton has a "plasticky" pitch slider. Nothing beats the feel of sturdy, heavy metal!

    • @mechanoid6152
      @mechanoid6152 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just used those in the club two days ago...turntables were set up on concrete blocks underneath and performed well without any feedback etc. So I think as long as they are isolated properly you will be just fine.

      The digital pitch they used is the most fatal flaw of the entire deck, along with the major lack of dampening mass, feedback issues and cheap internal electronics.

  • @paulboyce8537
    @paulboyce8537 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Reloop and Stanton mentioned have few extra functions. For DJ these would maybe give a slight advantage. The Pioneer is a bit different. Pioneer is a better sounding table for home audiophile that can compete against the best. Pioneer table is heavy and stable, very strong motor with optical speed control, no gimmicks and no extra functions, very good insulation to ensure a silent table, simplified and rugged build for easy cost effective maintenance. Biggest advantage is the sound quality.

    • @kareem_the_dream
      @kareem_the_dream ปีที่แล้ว

      I am sorry but you are mistaken... The Pioneer table is lighter than the Stanton and Reloop and it also has worse isolation and wow/flutter than those decks as well. It also does not have the rubber bottom base that the Stanton has which is much more superior for stability and audio quality. There are also other videos of this turntable on youtube where they show the issues with sound quality on this deck. It's not terrible but definitely NOT audiophile or anywhere near that quality. Go see for yourself...

    • @paulboyce8537
      @paulboyce8537 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kareem_the_dream The video in question is absolute BS. It wasn't even grounded and for sure it wasn't the first time out of the box. Happen to have the PLX 1000 and it has none of the problems. It was just a Technics fanboy creating bullshit. Pioneer has step further insulation for the tonearm and it is sunk.

      @@paulboyce8537 Thanks for the reply. The Stanton 150 that I am referring to is the 1.0 version. The 2.0 is a totally different turntable... The original 150's and the original Audio Technica decks are still the standard for me as they are the only ones with the heavy rubber base that truly has the best isolation. Too bad you can't find them brand new anymore...

    • @paulboyce8537
      @paulboyce8537 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kareem_the_dream Both models are discontinued. In any case the motor on both were lacking speed control and mkII would have been a fix in some short comings. Redesign where the rubber matting wasn't needed to save in cost is my guess. A bit like Technics where the circuit boards and power where directly under the platter. That's bad. New Technics I believe doesn't have the Rubber matting anymore instead there is just a plastic block for weight. Pioneer does have a rubber matting under the tonearm. In the end these are all Hanpin TT's. Not the same but all are made to budget these days. But because Pioneer gained the rights for the Technics at 2010 I believe it has an edge over the others even that the blue prints were never used. My guess because the classic Technics just was outdated. Technics made in Japan is a bit better but with very expensive labor cost the reality is the price doesn't match quality. There are some teardowns of these TT's and to be honest they have electrics galore and lot of cheap rubbish in them and very very expensive to repair and maintain. Plus the sound is not what you want for the money compared to similarly priced top TT's. In my opinion the TT market in as a whole is a ripoff. Pioneer included but maybe less than the others where the real people can still get a good TT to enjoy in a bit lower price.

    Don't bother buying the Technics MK7 you will be wasting your money. I have been mixing on Technics 1210's for Donkeys and never thought I would like another brand deck. Got rid of my decks couple of years back. Wanted to buy some more Technics but could not find them cheap enough as Technics stopped making them. I then heard about these Pioneers and took a chance on them. I was so impress when I tried them. They are superb for mixing on and I have made some awesome mix tapes. I actually find these just as good as the Technics for mixing if not better as the pitches have more range and more to play with. If you are thinking of buying new Technics do try these out first. There are some places which allow you to try before you buy.

      They are basically the same on the inside... If you are really going to use MIDI buttons to control software functions, then the 8000 might be the way to go. I personally wouldn't go with the 8000 because of the odd motor-off behavior...

    I'm also waiting for the Top 5 turntables !!!
    I don't know why nobody is talkin bout the built quality in all details. Like start/stop button. Plastic or metal and other parts which could break easily. I have seen the Synq X-TRM 1 which is cheap (350€) but the colour sucks. Audio Technica (430 €) nice design. Stanton T-150 but all of them hav plastic buttons. Even the all the Reloop Models hav crappy buttons. I was taking a look on the Audio Technica AT-LP120 Black edition. Which looks also good but has almost the same price like Synq X-TRM 1. I think the Pioneer look the best, but they r too expansive. I would love to have a good Turntable for home to train a bit and add to my Pioneer DDJ SX2. Also just to listin to nice vinyls. I would like to see a professional compare these Super OEMs

      White is the PLX 500 and the jump to PLX 1000 is a leap. And no it is nothing like Technics. The build quality and simplicity of PLX 1000 makes it lot better than the new Technics under $2000 and the classic well those are 25 plus year old tables and today's standards are lot higher. The sound quality in my opinion to get better you need to spend excess of $2000 to beat PLX 1000.

    Recently purchased some AT1240's. Considering the feature set, I am completely confused at the pricing for these decks. Super OEM's for a hell of a lot more money with less features than it's own counterparts. Wouldn't they sell more units if they lowered the prices to match their feature set? Or are they trying to go after the "1200" purist that believes this is a superior product over other super OEM's because they look like 1200's, have identical feature sets and cost and arm and a leg, because reasons?

    I'll take a pair of Technics SL1210mkII over any other dj turntable, a lot of them are still about that have been used in clubs for 30 years and still going regardless about beer and stuff being spilt on them. I highly doubt the Pioneer, Reloop and Denon dj turntables would last 30 years especially 30 years of club use. When you started pressing the start/stop button, the RPM speed buttons and popped up the light it all sounded horrendously cheap quality, the Technics SL1210 by comparison sounds lovely and high quality. By the way ther SL1210 is made by Technics not Techneecs, lol. I'm all for technology getting better as time moves along and the introduction of the phono sockets on the backs of the newer turntables is a good idea but Technics SL1210 cables usually last as long as the turntable if taken care of. But I do believe the newer dj turntables are cheap quality full of gimmicks turntables next to the still even now reigning god of dj turntables the Technics SL1210 mkII. That's why as far as i'm aware all clubs that have vinyl turntables as well as cd turntable STILL decide to have Technics SL1210mkII NOT Pioneer, Denon, Stanton or Reloop. To be honest if you want a proper review/road test put these turntables in hot nightclubs where dj's abuse them for 6 months and see how they get on compared to Technics.

      +DJbooth DJ's Thanks. I can't believe the records don't skip when you bang on the dicer pads...
      Seems like old technology but is definitely cool.

      +STACKTRACE It is pretty old now, they have been out for like 5+ years. The reason they don't skip is because Serato or Traktor has an absolute mode where the needle can skip but the music wont!

      +DJbooth DJ's ah so that's what absolute mode is. Thanks!

    The feedback that is sent back to these is unacceptable and if you want to do tricks it's going to be ok but when it comes to long bpm mixes stay away from digital pitch it does not have anywhere near as accurate pitch as an analogue one,to give an example think about a d pad on a game controller compared to the analogue stick,and that transferes to these decks as well digital definitely has it's place but digital pitch faders are to be avoided.
