Great drive Dave! Reminiscent of the PESC races at their best. Seb's slowdown wasn't pretty, but it was the advantage it gave to Govand that meant you shared the slowdown and lost advantage! Still, +59, top 5 in a field this competitive, being competitive - wonderful to watch!
great race Dave! was a shame to see you cop 8x in the first trip around from two whacks from the rear. iRacing's incident counter is a harsh and unforgiving mistress. A clean race and you picked up some freebies for the mistakes of others, that's how it's done in a high SoF field like that. Cheers fella!!
Solid drive that mate. Great pace 👌 Agree with the lack of sportsmanship from Sebastian with the slow down. Poor that. Loving that 'black on black' T-Shirt like 👌
Sebastian serving a slowdown in the middle of the chicane is one of the biggest rat moves in sim racing. I wouldn't have blamed anyone for ramming him out of the way 😂
As petty as it is I’d actually do the same if I really needed that position. If I was already like 10th or worse id let the guy behind go on ahead though.
@fermillo65 you're not supposed to be impeding on somebody else's lap when serving a slow down. You get out of the way, u don't slam the brakes in front of someone.
@@Dalaxilama he went slow but he didn't block, it just happens that the only line there. I think it's just strategic, you try to take the penalty at your best possible moment

I hate it when I go out for a drink, once per month, I end up loving every video I watch and want to subscribe to everything, and even consider joining! I end up going through all my joined subscriptions trying to work out which ones I need to drop 😀
hell of a race man... I learned a couple of things. I will try going through the chicanes in 3rd now since I always go down to 2nd to have a better exit. But you are way faster ... can only get a 4:01.3 there
I seem to remember that Mr "Something" from your previous video as well. I remember then thinking he was sending it on a lot of people. High Irating but low safety rating. I guess they are the ones to watch out for
Great video as always Dave👍 Now a question for you, is the screen view in your replays with regard to your overlays the same as what you see yourself in a race? If not, can you show us s what overlays you use when you race?
Great video, Dave! Personally i love this car/track combo. Could u please tell me your dobbleclutch setting? I cant figure it out, cause when i practice it, it works only the first time. Second and third time it only slips... does it overheat after one try, u think? Anyway, my setting is 45, works somewhat ok. ill be waiting for your next video, merry xmast, peace ☃️

@@davecamyt thanks for the response Dave, did you get any coaching? or just learned through playing the game? I am trying to get better and not having any luck.
@@ToulKorkManI personally got through 2k about 7 months after joining. My advice is obviously practice, know the pros and cons of each car you plan on using and what tracks they’re best at. Have the correct gear (I’m running VRS 20nm base and pedals with a proper rig) + if you want to actually be competitive outside of fixed series I highly recommend you find an iracing tuner site to use. Coaching and data to compare to yours will also help but I personally think proper tunes & the knowledge of TH-cam can get you over 2k within a few months time of dedication. I believe in ya. Once you get past that hump sky’s the limit.
It was actually buying some Heusinkveld pedals which was the turning point for me. Went from 1.5 ish to over 4k gradually over the next 12 months or so. Never had any coaching at all. 👍
Hi, Dave could you please answer my question next time you are doing a race? I used to be a sim racer about 9 years ago when wheel bases were over two thousand. I had a Fanatec Clubsport base back then with a cheap Omega rig. Things have changed now, watching your vlog wanted me to come back. Wife is a problem but then what can you do they are always a problem. Please tell me shell I come back and start racing or just watch you sitting on my sofa. I have 6 thousand in hand and they need to be spent. Please help me while racing on your next vlog thanks. O yes tripple and VR is must.
"He's no langer" - that one made me chuckle, Dave. Thanks for another exciting race.
I just now realized that Iracing is probably the world leader in cigarette advertising at this point........
Lol I was in an indy race: car in front and behind were both Marlboro😂
Idk why would anyone race those

“Holy sh£t balls” haha exactly what I would have said 😂 surprised you made it through that!

How on earth did you get through that cloud of smoke with the 2 cars either side LOL Of course it is pure skill 😀

Closing stages though I guess. In this split nobody is gonna roll over I suppose 🤣
Yeah I like the t shirt 😁
i mean 7k iRating he has.. nothing else was expected from him
Love that shot in the thumbnail Dave! So gritty! Great stuff bud!

Always going to happen in a super close race
Genius move that one. He didn't do anything outside the law, and used the track wisely

Great Race and nice Video, many Thanks Dave...
Your week 14 videos inspired me to buy a supercar. Now, since it's clearly Dave's fault I did this, he should do the whole season of them! ;)
100% agree! Dave should absolutely do Supercars regularly!
Me too. Do it Dave
Glad to see even a skilled driver like you can get 9 incident points despite trying to drive as safely as possible. Story of my iRacing life

How the hell do you even get a 10k irating, that's wild..did well to finish where you did.
“Chuck”! Another classic😂
That first run into Indy was crazy, I can’t believe everyone came out single file
Aliens like Pablo Araujo being running their default paintjob because Trading Paints is off and getting called "Aroohoo" is oddly humanising

I would've crashed at 7 different stages of that race... way to keep it on the track, Dave. That was tough!
Serving that slow down in the final chicane was smart and shallow at the same time.
The Malboro livery is breathtaking 😁
What an insane first lap!! 7 wide into Indy 😂😂
Look at the guy who starterd from 6th position, he did a great job!
That you? 😁
What a fine piece of driving!
cracker of a race, only topped by the dead pan delivery of 'he's no langer with us'

If not, can you show us s what overlays you use when you race?
Yes, when I'm recording you see what I see. Apart from my iRacing black box which is positioned behind my webcam 👍
is there a reason you stick it into first quickly and then straight to second in that hairpin?
A tiny bit of engine braking to prevent lock up going over the kerb and a little extra rotation. I shift to 2nd to prevent wheelspin 👍
@@davecamyt ill give it a go thanks!
Don't think Sebastian will mind your yellow card to much, looks like he was the car behind you when you served your slow down in the same corner. LOL.
I wasn't serving a slow down. I was 2 wide which just made me slower 😁
@@davecamyt You were 2 wide but you did had a slow down, have a look. You bailed at the chicane albeit cause cars were everywhere.
Dave, just asking for my own knowledge but why don't you downshift to 2nd out of the two mulsanne chicanes?
It prevents over rotation on entry and makes the exit a little smoother with less spin 👍
What a slugfest.

I think I'm around 45 also although it changes every session. It's a one shot deal so pretty much burnt out after one launch 😁
7:40 is alexander spetz allowed to cut that much? Looked like a slow down for sure
The debris is so bad in lower split lobbies. It’s very frustrating.
