I think it's good value. It looks as if it will last for years and you can fill the containers with what
you like once they are empty. The sharpie pen might be useful for writing on the cutting board. Or it could be replaced with a cigar tube and filled with Demerara sugar or whatever.
That’s a good idea.....or if Andy’s into it, just the cigar for after dinner!! 😄

Nice wee bit of kit, the multi tool makes for a nice addition. Not sure about the pen, as you say replace the pen for the spatula, many thanks.
I’ve had a clamshell zippy box like that lying around for years and I finally know what I’m going to use it for,I’m off to the shop for some packets of tic tacs as well 😉

thats great :) i actually use mine quite a lot, i added a small opinel knife and peeler :)
@@kentsurvivalgearreview586 still unsure what the sharpie is for myself lol...unless it's to rename the spice jars...but I'd do that at home. Got a retractable spatula to add, cut a square of green scourer to add to the cloth and added a couple of old glitter viles filled with saffron and nutmeg. Sorry I've babbled on. I've added an openil knife, small wooden spatula, wooden knife and fork, mustard and ketchup sachets, and a few of the expanding wipes when put in water 😁👌

Dapper little kit Andy, but, a bit expensive i think, probably due to that lovely case.
I bought one an absolute must for the cooking camper but mine came with a fire starter rod not a lighter but it’s a brilliant pice of kit
I need to stop watching food videos near to bed time. Loved the kit and loved the video.

My cooking kit already contains a knife and a lighter, so I'd swap those out for soy sauce and vinegar in a petling.
I have no need for a sharpie, so swap it out for sugar in some kind of container..
The cutting board is smaller than the one I own, it could stay!

Thanks for this review. I really appreciate that you didn't automatically refer to that multitool as a "Swiss Army Knife" since it's clearly not a legitimate Victorinox product. Aside from that and the pen and folding spork, this kit is pretty decent. I too, would change out those 3 things for better quality items if I was to get this kit...

Nice review video Andy 👍. Can't go wrong with stake, egg & Chips 😋😋😋. The pen is, probably for writin on the spice containers. When you refill them, with different herbs. I pre-roll my HERB 😉👍, be4 setting out into the wilderness.
The food makes the kit look better. I would make a kit with an Opinel knife. THAT Spork is about useless. They could fit a larger cutting surface with no problem. The case and the small containers are the selling point.
Absolutely right. I was thinking the same thing. I would replace the spork, the knife, the cutting board, lose the sharpie and also use my own spices, so I would need the case and the small containers. :) Basically the case only and I would start buying Tic-Tac's. :)))
Good looking set, and of course, could be tailored once the spices are used etc. Good to see these kind of people getting some recognition as well 👍
I agree and once tweaked or if they end up adding to it I think £25/30 is fair considering it’s not yet another poor quality cheap item from Shenzhen 😉
A good price and a good piece of kit it's not to big just the right size for camping for beginners .

@@MHarenArt Andy’s review of the product was great as usual. It’s not even the product itself really. It’s the price. Like Andy said most of it is probably already in your kit. Really it’s the spices that may not be. Which isn’t that hard to make a holder for. Plus it’s only going to be the ones you want.

seems like a nice kit. other than a better spork, the one change that would be nice would be dish soap (to go with the wash cloth) in place of the pen.
Enjoyed the video, as good as always. The kit does seem a little pricey, considering you/we carry the the kit anyway...so you would just be buying the case??...but I guess if you are starting out, it might be worth a look.

Pen to mark marinate bags of meat (like date, ingredients, spices used) maybe a chiller or chill in a stream, very handy kit.

Hey Andy, I think you could use the chopping board as a spatula, it even has the hole for your thumb ... but I might be mistaken.
It might melt if using in a hot pan.
But he said it's plastic so won't it melt?
Probably poltpropylene. Which will melt in a pan.
Plastics are melted to get them into the shape of a spatula or a chopping board for example, and the type of plastic will determine the temperature required to melt it.
To be honest I like the spice pouch Simon, a Bloke in the woods has.
maybe the marker is for making new labels for that kit
I have the smaller version, cracking little set. Swap the herbs and spices to the ones you need and it's all at hand.
I like the idea for lightweight backpacking, but I would prefer the ability to customize it. I wonder if you can only buy the case itself.

Should have been one elastic band in the center of each object, rather than one on each end. Would make it easier to get items out. Andy was clearly struggling the whole video with that, and it was enough to convince me not to buy this product. I think the company otherwise has the right idea, so I hope they make an updated version.
Looked like a cute little kit Andy but maybe some cheaper quality items in it obviously to control costs. I think I would want to include fuel cubes or something. As you say good for a beginner and a nice wee case either way.
Not bad for the price, would I buy it? no, would I be happy to get it for a Christmas gift?, yep. Great for backpackers and walk in campers. For vehicle camping like 99% of Aussie camping its not necessary as we have Esky's and proper cooking setups.

My idea: Turn the knife 90 degrees. Get rid of the foldable spork and the Sharpie, then place spoon, fork and knife there. And why not a bigger and foldable cutting board?
At the moment I am satisfied with my Victorinox - Swiss Army 5.4923 24 Piece Executive Culinary Knife Set w/ Black Case - even if it is a little heavy to carry and lacks a cutting board. ;-)
The spork won't fold if used as a "spoon" as it'll lock when used in the left hand. Almost a good idea. I'd swap the Sharpie (is the cutting board meant to be used as a "whiteboard?") for a suitably sized fork.

Another good review Andy but I'm not impressed with the product, it's price or its quality. You could make your own, better thought out and better quality for less than half the price I think.

They should ditch the pen and put the pen knife in that slot, then you've got room for Tobasco sauce! No cooking kit is complete without some kind of hot saws!

I've been watching your videos and I really want to go camping now but I'm absolutely overloaded with options.
Maybe even a tier pack such as beginner/novice, intermediate/casual, expert/frequent?

Nice set but I must say I hate those folding sporks. You can't beat a proper knife and fork. You could probably fit them into that set too :)
The case is really the only good part. Like you said most would already be in your kit. The spices you could do yourself for less money probably.

For £30 I’m not so sure about the Nomad kit but I would like to know where you got the blue plate from?
The blue plate was either decathlon or go outdoors a while back, pretty sure it was decathlon and only a pound
I like that, but its a bit pricey in AUD$. Sometimes these small companies get a bit enthusiastic with their pricing!

Obviously nit picking here, but replace the pen with a cheap meat thermometer. Obviously, you can add that to the kit yourself, but that would take it to the next level for me.

As for the kit way overpriced
This is not the worst camping accessory kit on the market. But its not far off. Needs an Opinel sharp knife, folding chopping board and they could have put two proper KFS instead of the pen. Fail.

Sorry, just a fancy gimmick...You can buy small size empty food grade containers of various sizes on eBay...Fill them with the herbs you like, and one the in a tupperwear box for a fraction of the price...
£29.99 is wayyyyyy to expensive, I wouldn't trust how fresh the spices are in there and the quality of the other products looks suspect. I don't think this will sell at that price.

That Nomad Kitchen set sucks! The cutting broad is to small, unless it’s for the fairies. One napkin, not enough oil, The Spork is dumb, and I think the spices are good!
But I like your own Spatula, it’s great!

Actually I don’t like the kit. Only salt and pepper are always needed. Otherwise for a short trip (less than a week) you only want exactly what you need. Spices already portioned and mixed for each meal.
I go camping to get away from crap like this. I mean, why not take the kitchen sink?
The folding spork would get thrown away as for the knife supplied with a dull blade ! Useless.
I like the concept but the execution lacks quality, many cheap mass produced items. OK, for a novice I guess but definitely not worth the price tag. Sorry old chap , fair review though :), I can't see how the case would remain hygienic in the long term. If it was a cordura nylon pouch you could wash it easily :)
