Hi Mac and Sarah So good see another great video from you both! We did our first trip to France a few years ago and learnt a lot. It was the main reason we bought our caravan after 15 years of motoring through Europe! First things first… There are little clogs online about boarding a ferry and what to do! We were like rabbits in headlights when we did our first trip, had to read and ask a load of questions and now have a formula on what to do when setting the caravan on the deck If your first time with the caravan we would say book through the Caravan and Motorhome club, it means there is a UK customer service centre if you have any problems…! In terms of campsites and where to stay, you can go wild and all depends what you really like? We love rustic and country, we both said the first site we stayed at might interest you…? We stayed at Le Brevedant in Normandy. It was close to Calais and a straight route through to the site. The campsite is outstanding, based on a family owned Chateaux with a huge lake, the owner is part of a folk band and perms every Friday night with the locals. The onsite shop is a postcard picture of a traditional French store with local produce to include locally made ciders (yes Mac they have booze!). It’s part of a French network of campsites called Castels, they are served by the club! We did so much, a trip to Deauville was well worth it, the north part of France answer to Cannes! The local village for a drink in the Tabac or a meal at the local restaurants! A quick round up - Worth getting a tag for tolls - Book through the club for 1st trip, special deals on ferry and site - Crit’Air about £5 but it’s a badge for emissions to permit access to certain cities - Prefer ferry and pay the extra to upgrade to Club makes such a difference and it’s discounted to £12 per person with the club - Red Pennant worth getting - Boarding is easy, we unplug the electrics and put on the hand brake - Get a EU adaptor for sites, electric tends to be the same but some older sites may be different. This year we are doing two trips to France, going wild and not through the club. First trip is Loire valley staying on an owner gite with private swimming pool (25 euros a night!!!), next is CampingInature set in the mountains near Carcassone! Can not wait! We are in East Grinstead, we bumped in to you at Sussex caravans. If you guys want to learn more over coffee give us a shout..❤ Steve n Stu x
We know exactly how your feeling with your loss, It's been 6 Months since we lost our camping partner. Both myself and my partner have lost dogs before, and everyone has hurt. But this one has left a massive hole in our hearts. Keep up the Vlogs we love them 👍
Hi Mac & Sarah. Have you been to the West coast of France? If not, try la Rochelle, Rochefort and Royan. All excellent for sight and food. If you like a good theme park, try Puy du Fou, near Cholet on the way down. We've never seen anything like it. Worth a trip to France just for this. We will enjoy watching wherever you go. Keep having fun.
We feel your pain. We lost our cat of 19 yrs on xmas day 2023 😢. Time is a healer. Glad you are planning on going further as we are. We are spending a month in the south of Spain in June in our campervan (Yes we are using nearly all our hols in one hit but its gonna be something weve never been able to do before with having the responsibility of having a pet. Maybe Spain for a few yourselves
The Highlands of Scotland would be amazing, something totally different for you with wonderful scenery. Lots of places to visit in this country before venturing abroad.
Good afternoon Mac and Sarah. My wife and I travelled the NC500. We parked our caravan at Inverness and travelled everyday up and did around 100 miles per day over a week. The scenery is amazing and as we were travelling from Inverness and up through the centre we also saw the middle of the Highlands. As I said stunning. Safe journeys again Richard
Hi guys, love to you both from another dog dad. We took our caravan and kids down to the Loire valley in France and then down to the Dordogne (near Sarlat) for a 2 week holiday. Brilliant fun and had wonderful weather. Of your 3 options, I would love to see a trip to the Emerald Isle. Fantastic
Hey guys, lovely to see/hear you again!! I would love to see you visit Ireland!! It’s something we have thought of too so it would be great to get some ideas & places to visit!! We did Scotland last year which was absolutely stunning…. Well worth the trip!! Take care xx
Good to see you are back. We were very sorry to hear about the loss of you beloved Dozer. Only people who had to let go a fury friend can understand what you are going through. We do. There will always be moments when the feeling of the loss hits you. Dozer will be with you on your upcoming travels. Take care Mac and Sarah, you are so brave. xx
Hey both. Great to see you back after such a life-changing event. Not that we are stalking you but, being based on the south coast, we have followed in your footsteps to a lot of sites you have visited (I'm thinking BoB has to be in with a shout for one of your top sites video 😊). Not overly keen on the well trodden Southern Europe destinations but Ireland or Northern Europe/Scandinavia piques our interest. Whatever you decide on I am sure will be interesting and entertaining. Take care and thanks for your content 👍
Hey Thanks Tony, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Oh yes BoB certainly has a place in the top of our faves list 🙂 Thanks for your thoughts on Europe, stay tuned for our decisions 👍
Great to see you both back, and we are still appreciative of your loss. Tough times for you both. Give a thought to visiting the Champagne region of France. Reims is a beautiful city, with lovely architecture, and cathedral. The Reims museum of surrender, and Several champagne tours. Mumms is well worth a visit, as it runs beneath the city. Just a little further is the beautiful champagne region, where you with find Epernay and all the famous champagne houses. You can also visit the church where Dom Perignon is buried. It’s in a beautiful little village that also does champagne tasting. It’s an easy drive from the coast too. 😊
Good to see you Mac and Sarah......onwards and upwards eh. I reckon,,,,option D, ferry from Portsmouth to Santander, northern Spain. Great foody area around San Sebastian. Just a thought. Whatever you decide I'm sure you'll have fun and we'll enjoy coming along for the ride. 😊😊
You must get yourselves to the north east of England …Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnel etc! Go, go, go! Glad to see you’re back and looking forward to the future! Best wishes Tristan & Katie @twogoonsonanadventure
We did a mix of option a and b last year - we got the ferry to Amsterdam, stayed and camping zeburg which was a brilliant base for exploring via the metro, then to Antwerp (chocolate and beer heaven, then to champagne and finally DLP We did it in two weeks and it was fantastic
Ah, hi both. It’s so lovely to see you back on the screen again and hearing that you’re beginning to look at planning for this season. We have never towed abroad ourselves but experienced caravanning friends have said that The Netherlands is an easy place to tow whereas Ireland apparently has quite challenging roads and limited sites for touring caravans. Whatever you decide on you will be taking lovely Dozer bear along with you in your hearts and we will certainly enjoy watching and supporting you. Can’t wait to see your top sites video when it comes out too. Warmest regards from Amanda and Paul.❤
Hi Amanda and Paul, thanks so much for watching and leaving us a comment 🙂 the Netherlands sounds lovely but we'd need to do some research on where to visit. Take your point about Ireland, looks like a lot of sites only take motorhomes. So many choices. Stay tuned for our decision 👍
So wonderful to see you both again. Wherever you decide to explore I shall definitely be watching! I just love your channel & find everything you do such a joy & a comfort. Sending you both much love and my sincere support ❤
Good to see you both again. Regarding places to visit, Just an option to consider maybe for next years travels but have a look at Denmark. Decent campsites, nearly everyone speaks English, fantastic roads and not too busy and of course wonderful Copenhagen 😉 I’m a little biased as I lived there for 16 years and also had a caravan . Also you’re just over the bridge from southern Sweden Just a thought , but whatever you decide, we are looking forward to follow your travels in 2025, stay safe and all the best
Hi Philip, thanks for watching. Actually we would absolutely love to visit Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. They are all definitely on our list for one day in the future when we have enough time to do the trip justice. We would consider doing it in a motorhome instead of a caravan though. Thanks again, all the best
Hi Mac and Sarah, so lovely to see and hear you both…. You’re Still my favourites ❤. I would love to see you visiting Ireland, option C😊 Have you been to Cornwall in the caravan, I could 100% recommend Tretham Mill (tranquil parks). We have been twice and absolutely loved it. Big hugs to you both for being so brave 🥰🥰
Big hugs to you both for being so brave 🥰🥰Angie
Dear Mac and Sarah. Our hearts go out to you. I still grieve our 15 year old German short haired pointer we lost 5 years ago despite having 2 cockapoos now. We are so blessed to have owned and loved them. We’d love to watch you wherever you go - if we had to choose we would say option C as we have always dreamt of visiting Ireland!!! Never been :) looking forward to you vlogs and wherever your travels take you!!! Xxx
Hi there Helen. So sorry to hear of the loss of your lovely doggo, we hold them in our hearts no matter how long it's been ❤️ Ireland sure is a popular choice in this wee poll 🇮🇪 thanks so much for getting in touch
Lovely to see you back, we lost Beau just into the new year and we’re devastated 💔 I wondered how’d adapt your caravan adventures, looking into something different sounds like a plan (though I don’t think we’d be as brave) I’m not ready to go back to old haunts yet but will watch with eager anticipation and hope 🌈♥️♥️
Oh Diane, we're so sorry to hear about Beau. Our love and best wishes are with you and we'll hold you in our thoughts ❤️ thanks for watching and leaving us a comment. All our very best, Mac & Sarah
We're also thinking about Ireland for 2 weeks in the Summer school break. Our quandary is we fear it's too busy in the school hols....? We don't want to be those people "cluttering up the countryside" with our campervan 😂 We understand your continuing feelings of loss. We lost our moggie, Stripey, 4 years ago and we still miss him, even though we have 3 other furry wallies!! They never leave you and that's good. ❤
Absolutely, it IS good that they never leave us isn't it? Ireland in the summer would be awesome, but we do get your point about not wanting to clutter the place up, but then camper vans do make it an easier prospect to consider. We'd love to know what you choose too 👍🇮🇪
Just happy you’re back. Truly enjoy the sincerity of all your videos. Loved Dozer obviously but looking forward to your new adventure. Any glamping video with or without your caravan even just in the UK is so much fun n therapeutic. I totally enjoyed that church Airbnb n etc. God speed to both of you
Lovely to see you both again, of the choices you mentioned my choice would be Ireland and I think def better in a caravan as then you have your car to really explore while you are there . I'd love to go in our caravan x
Hi Mac and Sarah! It’s so good to see you back. We’ve been going to Europe on a motorbike and camping for a month, for the last 4 years. In September we bought a caravan that fits our more motorbike inside and in May we’ll be heading off to Europe for the first time with the caravan. We’ll be going to Portugal (France + Spain + Portugal) and from there we’ll head south and will end up in Sardinia. It will be an adventure! We can’t give you advice on going on the caravan, but as far as beautiful places go, all options are valid and I’d love to see your experience regardless of your choice. However, my advice would be to go for an adventure and check something new. In France we were pleasantly surprised when we last visited Rouen, Biarritz and Bordeaux. If you decide to go to Alsace again, then I’d suggest to cross to Germany and go through the Black Forrest or even check some castles (last year we went to Bavaria and Neuschwanstein Castle and loved it!). The worst decision is always not to decide. 😊 Thank you for all the inspiration. Since September, you’re our number 1 TH-cam channel for inspiration, as new us being to caravan adventures. Cris and Alex
Hi Chris and Alex! Thanks so much for watching and for such great tips and suggestions! We would dearly love to take much more time and tour around. Taking the adventure and visiting news places makes so much sense, thank you! Thanks so much for watching our other videos too, we're so happy they can bring some inspiration 🙂 All the best, Mac & Sarah
Hi guys, it’s so good to see you back as we’ve all missed you….however, I think you have absolutely done the right thing to take time out to adjust to this huge change in your lives. I was in tears with you watching the last video and you are now in that tricky ‘ year of firsts’ which can be very hard at times. Please know that even though many of us never met Dozer Bear in person, we all loved him loads too and truly feel for you. You have big plans and they sound very exciting! I am writing this from the depths of Suffolk, in the midst of Storm Eowyn, on my very first caravan trip in my very first caravan - you have been part of the inspiration for me to try this and get out and about more, for which I truly thank you!
Oh Jane, we're so pleased to hear you're away in your caravan!!! We really hope the weather isn't causing any problems. Suffolk is lovely, hope you're having a a good time. Thanks for your kind words, it means a lot to us, truly. Thanks so much, our very best wishes ❤️ Mac & Sarah
It is sooooo good to have you back! I'm going through chemotherapy at the moment and your videos really cheer me up. Thank you. With reference to your travels, I would go for option B. Happy caravanning for 2025 😊
Hi Chris, we wish you all the best through your treatment, we're thinking of you! Thanks for the vote, much appreciated and thanks for watching 👍 take care
So good to see you both again - we know just how much you have struggled without your beautiful Dozer and it will be strange for you on your 1st outing in your caravan but we are so happy you are getting back on it. Our hearts go out to you both ❤❤. We think option A sounds fab - we’ve been discussing the prospect of going to France - Alsace looks gorgeous and it would be great to see which caravan sites you choose to give us inspiration too. So lovely to have you back with your vlogs and we look forward to whichever option you choose - we will definitely be watching them. Take good care guys, much love, John & Debs xx
Hey John & Debs, thanks for watching 👍 and thanks for the vote for option A too. The Alsace region is absolutely beautiful and we've seen a couple of lovely looking sites that could be ideal. Stay tuned for our decision 🙂 All the best Mac & Sarah
Lovely video, thank you for sharing. The roads are much better for towing a caravan in mainland Europe rather than Ireland. Lots more caravan sites in mainland Europe. Have you considered the ile de re? It’s an island off the west coast of France. Brilliant for cycling. We enjoyed Normandy for our first ever trip towing a caravan. Switzerland is stunning also. Looking forward to seeing where you end up! Take care! ✨
Hi there, thanks for the input, no we've never heard of Ile de Re, we'll look it up. Oh yes Switzerland would be epic! Stay tuned to find out where we decide upon 👍
Glad you’re back planning for this year. We’ve just booked 2 weeks in Ireland first time with the caravan. It’s great for us Fishguard is not too far can’t wait xxx
Hi Mac and Sarah, Lovely to see you again. We would highly recommend France for you and your caravan. The roads are amazing and campsites excellent. We did an eight week tour in our Basecamp 2, we loved the Alsace, we stayed in Colmar. Get in touch if we can help further. Like you, we have family in Ireland, Derry, we would love to take our caravan there too. Therefore, we would love to see you visit Ireland with yours. Best wishes Shaun and Helen ❤
Hi Shaun and Helen, thanks for your message. Actually yes, we may we'll take you up on the offer of more info on Alsace and Colmar. And also, Ireland is getting lots of votes too 🙂
Would love to see you touring Ireland, been there a few times and it's a special place. I'm from Wales so it would be biased of me to say but there's some fantastic sites here. Maybe you could set yourself a challenge and do Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England in two weeks. Whatever you decide I'm sure it will be a good laugh. All the best Mally
Cornwall is lovely, we're off to Merrose farm again this year. All around that area is beautiful. My hubby won't go abroad in our caravan but plenty do and enjoy it.
Love you guys, always so authentic and just kind people ❤ having lost my grandad just before Christmas and then my mother in law just 8 weeks later I understand how grief affects you. Pets are so much a part of the family and it’s horrendous when they pass. The pain is unimaginable 💔 sending lots of healing your way. Your followers will all still be here when your ready x
Take as long as you need, it’s an incredible loss. I dread losing our girl and already know it’s going to be the hardest loss as she is so so special. I never expected her to make it to 17 but on March she will be an amazing 18. Edna is a grouchy old girl so doesn’t go in the van with us and is happy to stay home with her human and he spoiled
Mac & Sarah, great to see you and your bounce back! Sorry, can't help you with overseas touring. We only tour the UK. One place we would love to return to though (but with the caravan, this time), and that you might consider, is Jersey.
So lovely to see you both, I say option B for new adventures. Thinking of you both, healing takes time, such a big loss but lots of beautiful memories xx
Hi Guys, so great to hear from you both again. We absolutely know that you are a long way from recovering from the loss of your dear Dozer Bear. You are clearly both strong through and we can’t wait to see where you decide on your 2025 adventures. We loved your Wales videos so have booked a gorgeous little site with a couple of friends called Bryan Llys for mid August! All the very best. Love Graham and Suzi. xx
Lovely to see you back and planning your next adventures. We would love to see option A and how it could be done in a caravan. Option D....how about a trek to Scandinavia!?!
Great to see you both again, we are off to Scotland this year, but would love to see you tour southern island because we are looking to do that next year maybe, but what ever you decide we will be watching 👀 you 👍❤️.
Sorry for your loss, it's good to see you're booking places and getting back to what you love, dozer would want that, he may no longer be here but I'm sure he will always be with you. Best wishes guys ❤
Great to see you both. Before you even said the options, we both said Disneyland Paris. It where we first came across your vlogs! And it where you looked so happy without alcohol 😂 (meant in a nice way) Take care
So good to see you again! I'm a fan of option c. We've been to Ireland 3 years ago and it was magical. Lots of beautiful gardens as well. I have to say though that the roads can be tiny in places and I'm not sure how well we would have done with a motorhome/caravan (we had a tiny rental car and still had near death experiencs😂). Netherlands is pretty as well. Keukenhof is a famous place for watching the tulip flowering. We've been to camping de zeehoeve which is right on the beachfront and in walking distance to a nice brewery. Really enjoyed that site! Can I also suggest option D: Brittany? It's a great place for camping, food, walking, beaches, art, sport, you name it 🎉 our favourite site was Camping municipal du Fond de la Baie. It was very simple but in a beautiful location right on the beach and people went out at low tide each evening to collect mussels for dinner. Sending lots of love from Germany. We'll be watching, whatever place you end up this year 😊
Hey Michelle, nice to hear from you, thanks for watching 👍 And thanks for all the great tips, so helpful 🙂 there are so many options so it's great to have some recommendations. All the best
Hey guys - Great to see you back on our screens. Dozer will be forever in your hearts… never feel the need to justify your absence 😊.. Like you guys, we’ve transitioned from Florida holidays to mainly caravanning! So naturally we should be recommending Option A (DLP!!!)… however you’ve been to most of the places before. We can’t speak from experience, but an Option D could be getting an overnight ferry from Portsmouth down to Spain! I see Tim has recommended the same above. I personally would want the sun if i were to go abroad and this sounds like something we want to do someday. Currently towing with an electric… so it may be some time before we do it! That said, its not about us, we support what ever you guys choose 😊
Hey Will and Lelly, lovely to hear from you and thanks for your kind words! Yes the Spain suggestion was one we hadn't thought about it, but now that's two votes 🙂 it certainly would be nice to have some warm weather!! Oh boy we have a big decision to make lol Thanks again, all the best x
Good to see you are planning new trips and adventures, we would love to take 'Dinky' our caravan abroad one day! Look forward to watching whatever you decide and always up for a collaboration! 😉
Fabby video as always. Was excited to hear you are both looking at going abroad - we are too. We've never taken a caravan abroad and it sounds a little daunting... But as my daughter would say to me 'YOLO' 😂 We would be travelling from the highlands and are considering Holland and possibly on to Bruges. I used to live in Ireland and we have family from there...and it too would he stunning, but id be worried about the weather (daft i know) Looking forward to hearing your plans 😊
Hi Sharon! Ah fantastic, great to hear you're planning a similar trip too 🙂 totally agree too - YOLO 😂 The good old Irish weather is definitely something to bar in mind! Thanks for leaving a great comment, all the best
Definitely option b if you fancy a theme park the Efteling is meant to be amazing. Either way will definitely be watching. We have a motorhome but it's really interesting seeing things from a caravan point of view. Enjoy your travels
Ireland yeaaaa For sure I've never been, am thinking of going 🤔 I've got family over there, so no caravan for me lol I've never been abroad. Lovely to see you both again 😀
Where ever you choose to go you’ll have a great time. I like to go to different places which is why I have a camper. I would go option B or C. Take care Gill
Hey Gill, ah yes, we do acknowledge that a camper would be more suited to some of the trips we'd like to do. Thanks for watching and leaving us a comment 🙂 x
Going to Ireland, as there are three places to sale from ie, Liverpool, Wales and Scotland. There are differences in sailing times and the shortest is from Stranraer. It's a beautiful area to travel too. However, consideration is if you have a long sailing time you can sleep. If your like me I am always excited and would never sleep whilst on a boat. I have never been to Ireland but my Irish neighbours recommends Stranraer. Safe travels. Richard
Hi Richard, thanks for the vote for Ireland 🇮🇪 in terms of ferry, Fishguard - Rosslaire would be best for us as Wales is easier for us to access. Stay tuned to see what we decide soon. All the best 👍
Hi guys, lovely to see you back and actively planning 2025. Having had dogs in my life since age 6 and thus losing many over the years, the last one being last October, I know exactly how you feel and are grieving the loss of Dozer Bear 😔. He will always be with you and walking alongside in your future adventures, be assured of that. Regarding your dilemma. I think plan B would be great, some new and exciting destinations for you both, plus one of the benefits of Northern France is the variety of routes to cross the channel, whether by Ferry or the tunnel. Someone else suggested the Champagne region, perhaps start in Alsace and move on to “the bubbles” 😉. Wherever you choose I shall be keenly watching as always. Take care both.
Thanks for your kind words, we're so sorry to hear that you also lost a friend in October, our thoughts are with you. Thanks for the feedback on our dilemma too, there are so many possibilities. Alsace to Champagne sounds good, lots of lovely wine and bubbles!!! We really must make a decision 🙂
Lovely to see you back. I would love to see you in Ireland, you have the same caravan as us and we would love to go to the Emerald Isle, we are a lot older than you and a bit nervous, please can you try it out for us! Fingers crossed 😊x
Nice to see you back. We are going to the south coast in August ,and having a day trip tester to france without the caravan. Kids really want to disneyland. Chris
Hi Mac and Sarah. Great to see your smiley faces up and running again and ready to rumble out in your caravan in 2025. Hope you enjoy. Pam and I are sadly giving up caravanning in 2025 due to circumstances and reverting to UK cottage holidays and dog friendly pub and hotel breaks. We managed 103 away days in the last 2 years, so we've given it a good crack. We have heard from several that Ireland is a tough place to tow a caravan. It's also far from the most dog friendly country as well and despite you being Dozer free right now, we have a personal downer on it for this reason. We suggest the following option D: a 3 centre break in the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. The following sites are exceptional. CAMC Castleton or CAMC Chatsworth near Bakewell for the PD. CAMC Hawes in Wensleydale or Thornbrook Barn near Ingleton for the YD and CAMC West Ayton near Scarborough or Vale of Pickering Caravan Park near Pickering for the NYM. The Peak District is fairly compact, so all attractions easily accessible from either site by car. From Ingleton you can easily get to the 3 Peaks, Ribbleshead, Kirby Lonsdale, Grassington, Skipton, Wensleydale and Swaledale but beautiful fringe locations like Bolton Abbey, Harrogate, Knaresborough (outstanding), Ripon, Masham and Fountains Abbey are a bit further. From your bases in the NYM, you could access the beautiful N. Yorkshire coast and visit the likes of Scarborough, Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay, York, Castle Howard, Helmsley and go to Goathland (where Heartbeat and a bit of Harry Potter was filmed) from Pickering on the steam train. Stop off at Eye Kettleby Lakes again for a couple of nights on the way home to break your journey. Here's hoping we've given you some good ideas for consideration. As we live in North Yorkshire, we are a bit biased tbh. Wherever you end up. Enjoy your 2025. Love Pam, Graham and Xenna🐾 ❤ 💙
Hi Pam, Graham and Xena! Wow thanks for such a comprehensive and helpful comment, very much appreciated!! Sorry to hear you're giving up caravanning but there are certainly lots of great cottage options in the wonderful UK. We have no doubt that you'll continue to have great trips and make lasting memories 🙂 The information on sites in Yorkshire is very welcome indeed, we are planning a trip to the Dales early Autumn. We will look at every site you've mentioned, thanks so much 👍 Yes we've also seen mixed views on Ireland but think we've identified some good possibilities should we decide to choose that way 🇮🇪😉 Thanks again, we always appreciate your support. All the very best, Mac & Sarah
@MacSarah Thanks both. I would say that Thornbrook Barn just outside of Ingleton is among the 5 best sites we have ever stayed at. The facilities block is amazing and it's adjacent to an award winning farm shop, butchery and cafe. Great location too. CAMC Knaresborough is also a great site too but incredibly popular.
So lovely to see you back. Really excited to see wherever you choose, we really want to go to France, but like you are nervous. We have just gone over to the dark side as my husband fell out of love with towing etc so it will be a bit easier. We have done Normandy, Dordogne, Vendee and the Loire years ago all wonderful. I had never considered Alsace but it sounds amazing. I would love to see Ireland, am pretty sure someone on the TH-cam community did this last year. We really are spoilt for choice aren’t we.
Hi Sandra, we really are spoilt for choice!! Haha "the dark side" 😂 motorhomes provide so much flexibility for sure, we've had both and there are pros and cons to each. Thanks for watching and leaving us a comment 🙂
Hi both, so nice to have you back ❤. Just a thought…..notion 1 Loches in the Loire Valley, beautiful area full of magical castles and historic walks it is called Camping La Citadel Option 2. Normandy Brittany border a lovely site walkable to Mont St Michel which is like walking through Harry Potter world, lots of beautiful historic villages Dinan and St Malo. This is called Camping Seasonova Haliotis. Option 3. Drive down to Bordeaux and stay in the beautiful campsite in Yelloh Village St Emilion. 1.5 miles to St Emilion Town with its medieval cobbled streets and to top it off it is the heart of the St Emilion Grand Cru wine area with loads of free tasting vineyards. Highly recommend all of these
Wow Sharon, this is like a travel guide! Thanks so much, that's really insightful and very helpful! It's so great to hear some first hand experiences! Castles and historic villages are right up our street!! Thanks for the info, stay tuned to see what we decide upon. All the best Mac & Sarah
@ enjoy. Also bear in mind campsites in France are starred by amenities so bigger commercialised site have more stars as more amenities One without entertainment usually sit at 3 stars
We are very sorry to hear that Dozer, it must leave a big hole in your life. Love to you both. I didn’t catch when you intend to head off on your trip but if the dates are not fixed, then May June or September would be my suggestion. You can get some great bargains on campsites and it’s easier to book a trip. I like Ireland and the Irish people but the weather in the West has been very stormy over the last two years and it looks like it will be bad this year too - we live in the Brecon Beacons and the last 2 years have been very wet and Windy compared to the first 5 years we lived here. We spent 2 months in the South of France and North East Spain last Sept / Oct / Nov and didn’t book anywhere to stay before we left. That allowed us to follow the sun and use our ACSI card to book campsites - we stayed from 1 night to 14 days and had good rates using the card because it was out of season. My suggestion to try and maximise your chances of sunny weather would be to fly to the South of France (Provence is absolutely beautiful and there is a lot to see) and hire a campervan. We used the BBC weather app, which gives you a two week look ahead to decide where to go. If you use your caravan I would suggest Normandy and Brittany. They are both beautiful and there is a lot to do and see - ferry to Le Havre. The down side is the weather is unpredictable on the West side of France - it was pretty awful for our whole stay last year and there had been terrible flooding prior to our trip. I get an English paper online from France (Connexion) and looking at the year so far in France, it’s not started off well. It is a very useful website for all sorts of ex-pat information and advice. So, where would I recommend? The places you have visited in the past sound good but heading down to the French Alps and Lake Annecy would also be lovely. Whatever you choose to do, have a great time.
Hello Huw, thanks for the great message with so many thoughts! Yes we're thinking of June so that works well. We really want to do it in our caravan rather than rent a motorhome, so it would limit the distance a bit. We'll have a look on a map and plot out the suggestions. Totally take your point about Ireland. Thanks again, that's really helpful
Hey Mac and Sarah. I think Ireland sounds perfect to begin with. You’d be able to stay in Wales to break up the trip and it would help you get used to using ferries whilst still being able to drive on the left when you get to the other side. It also grants you more time to research parts of Europe which could be undertaken at another time. It’s just a thought but I can fully appreciate driving on the wrong side is daunting although you should try doing it in a 44 tonne artic like I’ve done. At the end of the day it’s your choice as it’s your trip and holiday so initially do what you feel comfortable with doing.
Hi James! Thanks for the message, absolutely great thought around getting used to a ferry but still being on the correct side of the road! 🙂 Yes, towing a caravan in a RHD car on the other side would definitely be something to get used to. We've driven a fair bit in Europe but never towing a caravan. Thanks for the thoughts, much appreciated 👍
I’d say probably say Ireland easier with a caravan? I’ve never thought people caravan that much in Europe … but who knows! I’d watch you even if you just explored cabins, farm stays and studios etc. especially in France. Regardless, whatever you chose it will be entertaining and down to earth. Love and hugs to you both from Kangaroo Island Down Under. Xx 🦘💕
Hey Carmen, thanks for watching. Actually France and nearby countries are popular for caravans but these days campervans and motorhomes are very popular choices. We'll share the news of our choices soon 🙂 thanks again ❤️
We haven't been abroad with our caravan yet, but if we did, I think we would try Brittany first.....very pretty and not too far for a first venture overseas. Good luck and we can't wait to see where you go.....oh.....we miss Dozer too, bless him. Steve n Jeanette
Hey Steve and Jeanette, lovely to hear from you. Hope all is well. Good point about a shorter distance for the first abroad trip. Oh so my decisions 🙂 Thanks for watching and leaving us a comment. All the best
Lovely to see you both and hope you are keeping well 😌 how about option D ferry to Zebbrugge travel to Luxembourg then Switzerland and then onto Italy, I did this trip 47 years ago but went onto the south of France St Tropez back through Paris and then back to the UK. Lots of beautiful scenery and sights to see.
That would be a fantastic trip!! If we had a little more time and could make to most of it, that would be a definite contender. But I guess we could do some of it. Thanks for the suggestions 👍
Great to see you both, just take time. Bruges, and agree it’s a lovely place, France and Disneyland sounds great for sure. Netherlands again sounds good, never been but looks nice. We’re going to be taking our caravan hopefully soon, maybe just Normandy or Brittany for start, but when we semi retire and fully retire plan to spend a few months over Europe for sure. Ireland ummm the crossing always worries me, always sounds like it’s a rough crossing scares me….France and beautiful Bruges sounds my option. Great to see you both, all the best Tris and Nikki 😀😀
Hi Nikki, thanks for watching and leaving and leaving a comment! A tester trip would be a good idea if your considering a trip to France. We have quite the choice to make 😂 Thanks again xx
Hi Paul, thanks for watching and your votes 🙂 we'd love to visit Italy, maybe when we have more time. We took our motorhome to Italy back in 2009 and absolutely loved it!! Thanks again and All the best 🙂
I'd love to see A or B, but I think you might end up with c. Clearly, I am no help 😜 It is so lovely to have you back. I have missed your videos. Dozer Bear will always be in your hearts, so take him with you x
Hi Mac in sarah just a thought if you fancy something a little bit different without the caravan you could go to Norway on a cruise from Tilbury just been in November it was fabulous and went all the way to the Arctic Circle give it a look ambassador, very affordable i know it’s not caravanning but it is like touring because you visit a port nearly every day option D
Hi Gary! That kind of trip is definitely in our future, it sounds wonderful 👍 we've always wanted to visit Scandinavia. We'll have a look into that, thanks for the tip
Hi Maxine, thanks for the votes! Much appreciated. We've been to the Loire before but years and years ago, we loved it though. Thanks for suggesting it. 🙂
Hi Mac and sarah nice to see you’re back thinking about doing things again. I know it’s hard back to Caravaning I think France is the best option. Why not tour down to Des 4 Vents 20 minutes from Disney beautiful site, then tour further down through France into Spain sounds a long way but it’s not that bad, at least you’ll be heading the right way for the weather touring in France is very good. Let me know your thoughts if not something different Scotland and Highland games at Braemar you could do Yorkshire on the way Edinburgh and onto Braemar gary
Hi Gary, thanks for the great suggestions! We'll definitely look up Des 4 Vents. Spain may be a bit far for us this time round but it's definitely something we'd be interested in at some point. Also, we adore Scotland and would love to take the caravan there! Thanks again, much food for thought 👍
ROI. Ferry to Rosslare from Fishguard or Pembroke. Loads of nice places along the southern coast ending up at Killarney and the Ring of Kerry a place to die for. Ferry Plymouth to Roscoff Brittany. Then anywhere down the west coast , La Rochelle, Biarritz all lovely with tons if great sites. Hope alls well with you two.
Hi Dave, thanks for watching and for the suggestions! We've had a few now for the West of France. So many options to choose from... Thanks again, all the best
As an alternative to Bruges in option A: Ghent, Antwerp or Brussels are also worth a visit. Or the smaller towns such as Ypres (large WO II memorial) or Mechelen (Malines). As for the Netherlands, Amsterdam is certainly worth a visit. There probably several other towns in NL that are worth, but I'm less familiar with them. I'm more for nature walks. If you want to do some nature walks as well, it is worth looking a the walking node networks in Belgium and Holland. Anyhow, I hope you will find a vacation destination that you love and I am looking forward to your upcoming videos Of course, we will think of Dozer anytime you upload a new video.
Hi Marc, wow thanks for all the tips, that's really helpful. We actually had a trip to Ghent booked that COVID put a stop to, so we'd love to finally get there! Thanks again and all the best Mac & Sarah
Hiya, great to see you both back and looking towards a positive future. I’ve done A LOT of travel and have loads or places you could try. I wouldn’t do option A - life is too short to repeat. Netherlands is great especially with a caravan although I would stay at DELFT and then use your car to visit to Tulips, windmills, Amsterdam the wailing walls, Anne Frank’s house etc - soo much to do and see - you’ll love it. Easy Tow especially via the tunnel too. Option D if you want a real adventure - head down through France and stay in Annecy, through Italy for a few nights in Garda - down into Croatia for a visit to split, Dubrovnik etc then head home via Slovenia staying at lake bled … Whatever you decide we will all be watching, have a great time if you need any advice just shout - Ps my thumbnail image on profile is us in Annecy. Take care - and FAB to see you back again.
Hey, thanks so much for your great comment. So many tips, we just wish we had lots more time haha. But this has definitely given us food for thought! Many thanks 👍
Hi guys if its France or Spain watch Caravan Logger or Caravan Escapades as they go every year and make the videos in depth, also Beyond the Blue Door they do it too you'll learn a lot from those guys👍
Hi Mac and Sarah, this is not a suggestion, purely food for thought and this is a VERY potted retelling. Some might call it a mid life crisis, but I was only 28 at the time, I got it in my head I wanted to learn to ride a motorbike, passed my test and within three months had bought a brand new Triumph Trophy 900. Finding my best mate and myself newly single we booked a ferry to Oostend and set off. We had light weight camping gear from our mountaineering so we chucked it all on the Bike and buggered off. Other than the Ferry we had nothing booked - at all. We literally just took a chance we could pitch our tent when we were tired and see what we found. Yes we had a couple of dodgy nights, but generally we had an absolute blast. 30 years later I still reckon it was one of the best things I ever did and have memories that will last for the rest of my days. In rough order we went to Belgium, France, Italy, France, Switzerland, France, Germany, France, Belgium and back home to the UK, I think we went to Luxembourg too, but I'm not sure as it only takes 10 minutes to cross on a Bike 🤣. Roughly 2800 miles on a Bike in two weeks and yes we were speeding on the Autoroutes. That Bike did 52000 miles in 22 months - loved it! So my suggestion is just GO, my tally so far is 37 different countries, some flying, some driving, some Biking, just get on with it. You really will not regret it.
Wow! Oh how we would dearly love to hear off for such a magnificent trip!! We've been lucky enough to travel for a couple of months, but a long time ago! In truth, we have very itchy feet, but work holds us back at the moment. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, we really appreciate it. Thanks again and all the best 👍
Hello you two wonderful humans. I would say C but like you we wanted to drive the Wild Atlantic Way towing our Bailey Cabrara but not sure if the roads are wide enough on that route? We looked at hiring a campervan from this side. Be interested to read your comments. 😊 Howard x
Thanks Howard! There's lots of love for Ireland in the comments 🇮🇪 We wouldn't attempt the Wild Atlantic Way in a Caravan but it would could find a nice site or two in the South, that would be great. Thanks for watching and getting in touch All the best, Mac & Sarah
Greetings from N.I. , been to all the EU places you have named but Normandy and Brittany are superb. You would love ROI and N.Ireland but as a resident of N.I. you will not have the choice of great sites you have in GB or France . You have the D-Day sites ,Mont Saint-Michel, etc, etc, You can even leave your van for the day and go to Guernsey for a day trip. Kind Regards Robert & Carolyn, Ellie.
Hi there, thanks for the insight, really appreciate it 👍 A day trip to Guernsey sounds fantastic, didn't know that could be done! Thanks again, all the best
glad that you are back and sorry for the loss of Dozer................ the fact is do you think getting another dog is good for now or maybe later?.............. I remember when I lost my Meg rotti.... I think it took 2 years for me before I got another pet...... but alsas my hubby went and get a golden labrador behine my back was probable the best thing..... he got a pure bred goldern Labrador.... so it;'s up to you guys when it is ready for a new pet.... I would love you to go travel the south of england, I spent a few years living in the uk, and found that Weymouth was a beaustiful place to live............. I did stay at a place in a named Tronvone... it has a great Blowholw....
Hey Lyn, thanks for watching and for leaving us a comment. Sorry to hear about your doggo but so happy to hear about your new fur baby, Golden Retrievers are such lovely dogs!! Thanks for letting us know your preference, we do have quite a few videos of Southern England as that's where we live. Well of course stay at more places here too 🙂
Hi Mac and Sarah
So good see another great video from you both!
We did our first trip to France a few years ago and learnt a lot. It was the main reason we bought our caravan after 15 years of motoring through Europe!
First things first…
There are little clogs online about boarding a ferry and what to do! We were like rabbits in headlights when we did our first trip, had to read and ask a load of questions and now have a formula on what to do when setting the caravan on the deck
If your first time with the caravan we would say book through the Caravan and Motorhome club, it means there is a UK customer service centre if you have any problems…!
A quick round up
- Worth getting a tag for tolls
- Book through the club for 1st trip, special deals on ferry and site
- Crit’Air about £5 but it’s a badge for emissions to permit access to certain cities
- Prefer ferry and pay the extra to upgrade to Club makes such a difference and it’s discounted to £12 per person with the club
- Red Pennant worth getting
- Boarding is easy, we unplug the electrics and put on the hand brake
- Get a EU adaptor for sites, electric tends to be the same but some older sites may be different.
If you guys want to learn more over coffee give us a shout..❤
Steve n Stu x
We know exactly how your feeling with your loss,
It's been 6 Months since we lost our camping partner.
We agree, the west coast is great. We have been to Puy du Fou four times now, it's amazing.
Hey Dave, thanks for this, we hadn't considered the West Coast but some friends of ours suggested it too. Thanks for adding something new to the mix 👍
Oh wow the Highlands would be amazing, we've been there in a motorhome years ago and a car in 2021, we'd love to go back
Thanks for watching
Good afternoon Mac and Sarah.
My wife and I travelled the NC500. We parked our caravan at Inverness and travelled everyday up and did around 100 miles per day over a week. The scenery is amazing and as we were travelling from Inverness and up through the centre we also saw the middle of the Highlands. As I said stunning.
Safe journeys again
Richard
Hi guys, love to you both from another dog dad. We took our caravan and kids down to the Loire valley in France and then down to the Dordogne (near Sarlat) for a 2 week holiday. Brilliant fun and had wonderful weather. Of your 3 options, I would love to see a trip to the Emerald Isle. Fantastic
Hey there, thanks for watching and for your vote 🙂 maybe we'll choose both if we can! Stay tuned and thanks again
Hey guys, lovely to see/hear you again!! I would love to see you visit Ireland!! It’s something we have thought of too so it would be great to get some ideas & places to visit!! We did Scotland last year which was absolutely stunning…. Well worth the trip!! Take care xx
Thanks Sarah, that's a tick in the box for Ireland 🇮🇪 We'll reveal our choice soon 🙂
Good to see you are back. We were very sorry to hear about the loss of you beloved Dozer. Only people who had to let go a fury friend can understand what you are going through. We do. There will always be moments when the feeling of the loss hits you.
Dozer will be with you on your upcoming travels.
Take care Mac and Sarah, you are so brave.
xx
Thanks so much for your kind words, we truly appreciate it. Absolutely, Dozer will always be with us, we'll take him with us in our hearts. ❤️❤️
Oh yes BoB certainly has a place in the top of our faves list 🙂
Thanks for your thoughts on Europe, stay tuned for our decisions 👍
Great to see you back, looking forward to watching you in 2025, and hopefully see you somewhere along the way!!
Thanks guys, hope you're both keeping well
@@MacSarah we are thank you! maybe see you at the show!
Hi Alex, thanks for that! We hadn't considered that area, but definitely one to put on the list of options 👍 thanks again
Hi Tim, thanks for watching and for the suggestion, that's a good one that we hadn't considered!! Its in the ballot box 🙂
You must get yourselves to the north east of England …Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnel etc! Go, go, go!
Glad to see you’re back and looking forward to the future!
Best wishes Tristan & Katie
@twogoonsonanadventure
We had a couple of nights in this area last year when travelling down to Norfolk from Scotland - it was absolutely beautiful 😊
@ I’ve been going there my entire life, my wife and I got married in Bamburgh Castle 18 months ago so the area means a lot to me. Glad you liked it. 😃
We did a mix of option a and b last year - we got the ferry to Amsterdam, stayed and camping zeburg which was a brilliant base for exploring via the metro, then to Antwerp (chocolate and beer heaven, then to champagne and finally DLP
We did it in two weeks and it was fantastic
Hey Catherine! That sounds fantastic!! If we go for that option, maybe we could pick your brains at little?
@@MacSarah of course! We had the best time on our euro road trip and can’t wait to do another one
Great to see you guys again. Love your videos. What ever you decide will be an adventure we would all love to follow. Happy caravanning for 2025
Thanks very much Simon, we really appreciate it! All the best 🙂
So wonderful to see you both again. Wherever you decide to explore I shall definitely be watching! I just love your channel & find everything you do such a joy & a comfort. Sending you both much love and my sincere support ❤
Anna thank you, that's so lovely of you! Thanks for watching and leaving us a lovely comment ❤️
Good to see you both again. Regarding places to visit, Just an option to consider maybe for next years travels but have a look at Denmark. Decent campsites, nearly everyone speaks English, fantastic roads and not too busy and of course wonderful Copenhagen 😉
I’m a little biased as I lived there for 16 years and also had a caravan .
I would love to see you visiting Ireland, option C😊
Have you been to Cornwall in the caravan, I could 100% recommend Tretham Mill (tranquil parks). We have been twice and absolutely loved it. Big hugs to you both for being so brave 🥰🥰
Hey! Thanks for watching and helping us out! Yes we will be visiting Cornwall sometime soon 🙂 thanks so much for your kind words ❤️
Hi Mac and Sarah, so lovely to see and hear you both…. You’re Still my favourites ❤. I would love to see you visiting Ireland, option C😊
Have you been to Cornwall in the caravan, I could 100% recommend Tretham Mill (tranquil parks). We have been twice and absolutely loved it. Big hugs to you both for being so brave 🥰🥰Angie
Glad your back. Sending my love over the waves.
Thanks so much Richard
Dear Mac and Sarah. Our hearts go out to you. I still grieve our 15 year old German short haired pointer we lost 5 years ago despite having 2 cockapoos now. We are so blessed to have owned and loved them. We’d love to watch you wherever you go - if we had to choose we would say option C as we have always dreamt of visiting Ireland!!! Never been :) looking forward to you vlogs and wherever your travels take you!!! Xxx
Hi there Helen. So sorry to hear of the loss of your lovely doggo, we hold them in our hearts no matter how long it's been ❤️
Ireland sure is a popular choice in this wee poll 🇮🇪 thanks so much for getting in touch
Good to see you back looking forward to seeing your adventures
Thanks Martin, much appreciated
We don't want to be those people "cluttering up the countryside" with our campervan 😂
We understand your continuing feelings of loss.
We'd love to know what you choose too 👍🇮🇪
I’d love to see you go to France and document taking your caravan over there, but I’d also love to see Ireland!
I’m planning both in the near future.
Ah thanks for the comment, that's a tick in two boxes. 👍
God speed to both of you
Aww that's lovely of you to say, thank you so much!!! ❤️
Lovely to see you both again, of the choices you mentioned my choice would be Ireland and I think def better in a caravan as then you have your car to really explore while you are there .
I'd love to go in our caravan x
Hi Vic, that's great! Thanks for the vote 🙂
Hi Mac and Sarah,
Lovely to see you back. Disneyland all the way. I would love to see how that could be done in a caravan. 😊
Oooh ok, thanks for the vote 🙂 could be a really interesting one to tackle 👍
Thank you for all the inspiration.
Thanks so much for watching our other videos too, we're so happy they can bring some inspiration 🙂
All the best, Mac & Sarah
Nice to have you both back....... got to be ireland some beautiful places to visit and the black stuff taste so much better 🍀😂
Haha reason enough!! Thanks for the vote David! 🇮🇪
Thanks so much, our very best wishes ❤️
Mac & Sarah
Hi Mac and Sarah, It's so lovely to see and hear from you both.
Looking forward to your new adventures x
Thanks so much Karen 🙂
Stay tuned for our decision 🙂
All the best
Mac & Sarah
Ah that's fantastic, we'd choose that route too. Bet you're looking forward to it 🙂
Hi Mac and Sarah,
Lovely to see you again.
Best wishes
Shaun and Helen ❤
Hi Shaun and Helen, thanks for your message. Actually yes, we may we'll take you up on the offer of more info on Alsace and Colmar. And also, Ireland is getting lots of votes too 🙂
Would love to see you touring Ireland, been there a few times and it's a special place. I'm from Wales so it would be biased of me to say but there's some fantastic sites here. Maybe you could set yourself a challenge and do Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England in two weeks. Whatever you decide I'm sure it will be a good laugh. All the best Mally
How Mally, thanks for watching 👍 wow 4 nations is two weeks would be epic!!! That's a great thought! Thanks again, all the best
Cornwall is lovely, we're off to Merrose farm again this year. All around that area is beautiful. My hubby won't go abroad in our caravan but plenty do and enjoy it.
Hi Claire, Cornwall is definitely on our list of possibilities for other UK trips this year 👍
The Lake District would also be a great destination!
Oh yes it absolutely would! We do have some time later in the year too, so could be a possibility. Thanks for the comment
Thanks so much for your kind words. We're so sorry for your losses, our thoughts are with you at this difficult time ❤️ with our very best wishes xxx
Hi Mac and Sarah.
We would love to see you travel to Alsace or Northern France, since we also consider goung with our caravan🚙.
Thanks Kim, we'll register your vote for Alsace 🙂 all the best
Great to see you back. Don't mind where you go ,i'm sure you will do a great video. All the best 👍
Cheers Andy, much appreciated 👍
Take as long as you need, it’s an incredible loss. I dread losing our girl and already know it’s going to be the hardest loss as she is so so special. I never expected her to make it to 17 but on March she will be an amazing 18. Edna is a grouchy old girl so doesn’t go in the van with us and is happy to stay home with her human and he spoiled
Awww bless Edna, wow 18 is an incredible age!!! Please give her a big kiss from us!!
Mac & Sarah, great to see you and your bounce back! Sorry, can't help you with overseas touring. We only tour the UK. One place we would love to return to though (but with the caravan, this time), and that you might consider, is Jersey.
Hi Barry, thanks for watching 👍 oh Jersey is a place we'd like to visit one day!
I'd love to see you take an Ireland trip! It's someplace I want to visit someday. So nice to see your lovely faces again! ❤❤
Ah thank you so much ❤️ that's a vote in the box for Ireland 🙂 all the best x
@MacSarah my ancestry is primarily Irish and Welsh, so I'm determined to get over there someday!
So lovely to see you both, I say option B for new adventures. Thinking of you both, healing takes time, such a big loss but lots of beautiful memories xx
Thanks so much Hannah ❤️
Hi Guys, so great to hear from you both again. We absolutely know that you are a long way from recovering from the loss of your dear Dozer Bear. You are clearly both strong through and we can’t wait to see where you decide on your 2025 adventures. We loved your Wales videos so have booked a gorgeous little site with a couple of friends called Bryan Llys for mid August! All the very best. Love Graham and Suzi. xx
Hi Graham and Suzi, thanks for watching and leaving us a comment, much appreciated 👍 all the best 🙂
Lovely to see you back and planning your next adventures. We would love to see option A and how it could be done in a caravan. Option D....how about a trek to Scandinavia!?!
Oh wow we would absolutely love to take the caravan to Scandinavia one day, we've thought about it a lot!!! One day, definitely!
Good to have you back 👍
Thanks, much appreciated 🙂
Would love to see you go to Ireland. Take care guys. xx
Thanks for the vote Mandy 🇮🇪👍
Hi guys great to see you back opp A and Ireland sounds good x
Thanks Keith, appreciate the feedback 🙂
Great to see you both again, we are off to Scotland this year, but would love to see you tour southern island because we are looking to do that next year maybe, but what ever you decide we will be watching 👀 you 👍❤️.
Thanks very much, really appreciate that!! Thanks for watching 👍
Sorry for your loss, it's good to see you're booking places and getting back to what you love, dozer would want that, he may no longer be here but I'm sure he will always be with you. Best wishes guys ❤
Thanks so much, we really appreciate it ❤️ He's always with us and we'll keep traveling and hold him in our hearts
@MacSarah thats the spirit ❤️
Great to see you both.
Before you even said the options, we both said Disneyland Paris. It where we first came across your vlogs! And it where you looked so happy without alcohol 😂 (meant in a nice way)
Take care
Haha great, another tick in the DLP box then 👍 thanks for the comment
Oh boy we have a big decision to make lol
Thanks again, all the best x
Bonjour Mac and Sarah.
Of course for me will be France 😂.
Britany is beautiful also Alsace. Option B🇨🇵
Have a nice day ☀️
Ah of course ❤️🇨🇵 thanks for the vote!! We'd dearly love to come to France
Good to see you are planning new trips and adventures, we would love to take 'Dinky' our caravan abroad one day! Look forward to watching whatever you decide and always up for a collaboration! 😉
Ah thanks very much Chris, we've so many options to choose from! Thanks for watching 👍
Fabby video as always. Was excited to hear you are both looking at going abroad - we are too. We've never taken a caravan abroad and it sounds a little daunting... But as my daughter would say to me 'YOLO' 😂
We would be travelling from the highlands and are considering Holland and possibly on to Bruges.
I used to live in Ireland and we have family from there...and it too would he stunning, but id be worried about the weather (daft i know)
Looking forward to hearing your plans 😊
Thanks very much 👍 oh we'll look up the theme park!! Thanks for leaving us a comment
Ireland yeaaaa
For sure
I've never been, am thinking of going 🤔 I've got family over there, so no caravan for me lol
I've never been abroad.
Lovely to see you both again 😀
Hey Karen, thanks for the vote for Ireland 🇮🇪 We'll reveal our choice soon 🙂
Crazy idea.....Come to New Zealand and hire a camper. You will have the time of your life here :) I'm excited for your next video
Oh my goodness we would LOVE to!! One day, for sure!!! Thanks so much for watching 👍🙂
@@MacSarah I thought you might like the idea of “wine & bubbles” 😉. Thanks for your kind words too ❤
Lovely to see you back. I would love to see you in Ireland, you have the same caravan as us and we would love to go to the Emerald Isle, we are a lot older than you and a bit nervous, please can you try it out for us! Fingers crossed 😊x
Hey Claire, thanks for watching! We'd love to, that's a vote in the box for Ireland 🇮🇪
Cant go wrong with any of your choices. Thinking option B would be nice but either way we are excited for you to get back on the road
Ah that's very kind, thank you 🙂
Nice to see you back.
We are going to the south coast in August ,and having a day trip tester to france without the caravan.
Kids really want to disneyland.
Chris
Thanks Chris. Oh a day trip tester sounds like a good idea, get an idea of how the crossing works etc 👍
@@MacSarah indeed
We have no doubt that you'll continue to have great trips and make lasting memories 🙂
The information on sites in Yorkshire is very welcome indeed, we are planning a trip to the Dales early Autumn. We will look at every site you've mentioned, thanks so much 👍
Yes we've also seen mixed views on Ireland but think we've identified some good possibilities should we decide to choose that way 🇮🇪😉
Thanks again, we always appreciate your support.
Ireland is beautiful but can be very wet. B sounds the best option, some where you haven’t been before x
Haha yes, Ireland does have its fair share of rain, that's for sure! Guess we'd have to take our chances 😂
Aaawww so sorry to hear about your dog he was a lovely boy 😢
Thanks Charles, much appreciated 👍
@MacSarah it's charlie please lol ..I don't like Charles 😃
Hi both, so nice to have you back ❤. Just a thought…..notion 1 Loches in the Loire Valley, beautiful area full of magical castles and historic walks it is called Camping La Citadel
Option 2.
All the best
Mac & Sarah
@ enjoy. Also bear in mind campsites in France are starred by amenities so bigger commercialised site have more stars as more amenities One without entertainment usually sit at 3 stars
@@sharronspence7418 ah that's something we didn't know, thank you!!
South of France gets my vote 👍
Oooh South of France huh? I wonder if we'd have the time for all the travel 🤔 interesting, thanks for the suggestion 👍
@MacSarah we will be stopping halfway for one night to make the journey easier
I’d go B. Maybe get a sneaky little side trip to Bruges on the way! So many nice places in both countries.
Oh so my decisions 🙂
Thanks for watching and leaving us a comment. All the best
Option D guys🐾join us down in the New Forest and do some off grid camping 😬 Looking forward to your content in 2025 🐾👍
Actually we'd love a little trip to the New Forest, it's not too far from us and such a lovely place! Thanks for watching 👍
We have quite the choice to make 😂
Thanks again xx
Hi! I would like to see option B, Holland or C, Ireland please although an alternative option if you’re brave enough is Italy
Clearly, I am no help 😜
It is so lovely to have you back. I have missed your videos.
Dozer Bear will always be in your hearts, so take him with you x
Haha that's ok, it's all to play for at the moment 🙂 thanks for watching and your kind words about Dozer xx
France - Loire valley or option B. Lots of Ireland vlogs at present, something different would be good.
Hi Maxine, thanks for the votes! Much appreciated. We've been to the Loire before but years and years ago, we loved it though. Thanks for suggesting it. 🙂
Tour of France for me 😁
Vote registered 👍 thanks for watching
Please go to Ireland . I want to visit next year and would love some vlogs of your trip if you decide to go to the Emerald Isle
Hey Samantha, thanks for the vote for Ireland 🇮🇪 We'll reveal our choices soon x
Anyhow, I hope you will find a vacation destination that you love and I am looking forward to your upcoming videos
Of course, we will think of Dozer anytime you upload a new video.
Hi Marc, wow thanks for all the tips, that's really helpful. We actually had a trip to Ghent booked that COVID put a stop to, so we'd love to finally get there!
Thanks again and all the best
Mac & Sarah
Excellent advice, thanks 👍 we do watch Caravan Vlogger and Caravan Escapades so will look up their France videos. Thanks for watching
I'd rank the options 1) B 2) A 3) C
Love the way you think, thanks for the clear ranking 👍🙂
Thanks for watching and getting in touch
All the best, Mac & Sarah
Done St Malo to St Hellier in Jersey on Condor fast ferry. Only takes one hour twenty minutes each way. A nice day trip from North Brittany.
glad that you are back and sorry for the loss of Dozer................ the fact is do you think getting another dog is good for now or maybe later?..............
