The way they smile and playfully toy with each other somehow makes me envious of the friendship these characters have. It's cute. But the way they whip out their weapons, beat up the other girls and then strike a pose as a team looks badass. I'm just getting a wave of emotions from these little clips and it's amplified by the music. It's hard to look away and stop listening. Makes me long for what they have. This is shot on 16mm film. Although i can't confirm it, the general rule is that all Toei's TV production started in mid 70s including tokusatsu show use 16mm film. I would say that they shot this using Fuji stock as Fuji is much more cheaper than Kodak back then and Fuji stock is really popular for TV production. The reason you have hard time to describe because the aesthetics of the film itself, I guess. Low contrast, muted color and less clarity than Video Recorder in 80s.

This is shot on 16mm film. Although i can't confirm it, the general rule is that all Toei's TV production started in mid 70s including tokusatsu show use 16mm film. I would say that they shot this using Fuji stock as Fuji is much more cheaper than Kodak back then and Fuji stock is really popular for TV production. The reason you have hard time to describe because the aesthetics of the film itself, I guess. Low contrast, muted color and less clarity than Video Recorder in 80s.

Japan in the 80’s and early 90’s was the best place to be in the world.
Was a very happy time. And successful too. The 80’s has a special touch unlike the other decades. I do like the 90’s too.

It's Sukeban Deka, specifically the third season of the TV show. It was a manga that got a live action TV show, anime show and movies, and live action movies.

@@RandomAccessDreams it was not the third season; it was a mix of clips from all seasons (and possibly the two original movies of that era, I didn't pay close attention to that).
Edit: I take it back, it's a mix of clips from seasons 2 & 3. Didn't see season 1 in there.
