    Why isn't anyone talking about the perfect timing of the music and the clips? At times, it's almost like you can experience the music based on the setting that the character is in. Shifts in music accompany smooth transitions. Whoever is making these clips is doing a great job at visually conveying the emotion of the pieces they choose.

      Huh? What art style doesn't allow artists to draw ugly people? That statement makes no sense. Such a thing does not exist. It is the artist's choice to draw ugly people or not. It has nothing to do with artstyle lol.

    • @HarpoTheVillain
      @HarpoTheVillain 4 ปีที่แล้ว +494

      @@zack1140 Have you ever in your life watched anime? 90% of characters are written to be attractive and handsome, especially female characters. On the flip side, they all mostly look the same and they don't look like actual people. The artists here opted to vary the appearances of characters to make quite a few of them look less attractive, and I applaud that. It's an art style that blends realism with colorful expression, and it's great.

      It is THE ARTISTS CHOICE to draw ugly people. Meaning "90% of characters" are drawn to look attractive because obviously it's more pleasant to look at or whatever other reason they do it.
      The style has little influence over that. The fact that people are agreeing with you just shows that they have no idea how art works.

    • @hedgehog3180
      @hedgehog3180 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I mean that's because you're comparing a movie to TV series. TV series from this period also didn't animate hair that much and that's why poofy hair styles were so common (Gundam Zeta and Double Zeta, Ranma etc.). Meanwhile movies today do animate the hair. It's just that when you're making a movie you have the money and time to animate things like this but when you're making a TV series you generally don't. This is just a rule for all animation with very few exceptions (Legend of Korra being one of the few examples of a TV series where the animation quality was on the same level as a movie). So TV series today generally tend to opt for very elaborate hair styles which don't leave a lot of room for movement or at least make the movement very predictable and simple instead of what was done in the 80s where you had simple hair styles that left little room for movement.
