  • In Traditional Martial Arts we often push our punches. Why do we do this? At the base there are two important concepts, that of "simultaneity" and that of "acceleration".

@@DanteBasili this is true! Especially in the Chinese arts where so much is transmitted orally. You do important work many people where I live think Chinese arts are what they see in Kung fu movies. When I demonstrate authentic application they think I am doing Silat or something else, it is very sad particularly in Taiji. In the Chen Pan Ling family we have a saying,” work to put the tiger back in his skin.”

also Silat uses the concept of backup between the hands as a base concept. If one hand is in danger the other hand is close by to help the technique as support or defense or to move to another technique. FWIW.

I can tell you were listening to all your Masters.Teach us and not let it be forgotten thank you. We know those Masters who taught you can’t be everywhere to teach everyone. You and all the other students are their book keepers. Keep doing what you do best and try post all what you learn. The martial arts movement your teaching is more of a flow and more combinations combo hits. Than just a single or double movement. I see it like more rhythm onto combine into another more combination movements. I know as you would go higher in level of teaching. You use more combinations combo hit and later breaking it down to less only effective finishing movements is goal. Discipline is a balance to the goal. Your a legendary. You feel the mindset what most legendary already endure. Universal Mastery Thai S

    All the best.
    Greetings from Wien.
(I don't agree with everything Dante says, but I won't disagree with him either. He is a precious gem for those of us who know what value is. Dante, I say that power is generated by the Yi and the action dependent upon the combat situation. Furthermore, a teacher who is joyous in his teaching has reached a very high level of Self realization. ☺) Peace
