@LamboLighting i still remember the day. got a cd from my uncle with a bunch of different metal songs on it. listened to this song and got completely blown away
I can just see a young Jason Newsted in the studio playing the bass and it’s so refreshing to hear a song that I listened to so many times change up with boosted bass… it’s good taking what’s old and polishing it
Now the bass is louder than everything else. That's not how it should be either. It should be somewhere in between. But yeah, it's cool to hear what the bass actually does. The bass is definitely not the main instrument in this song so it shouldn't be this loud. But of course it should be louder than on the album. If you have heard their cover of "The Prince", it's basically AJFA sounds but the bass just a bit louder (though it could still be a bit louder).
ZackerTheScar If someone could add the bass back into the normal version of One and sync it up correctly, then they can lower the bass enough so it's not overpowering.
You should at least be able to hear the bass and hear when it's playing or not. Thanks to the lack of bass AJFA ended up with quite terrible sound, despite having some kickass songs.
It was not a decision by the producer, Fleming Rasmussen. It's his biggest regret, and he even said he had a dream of the fans listening to the same version he originally produced, with bass. It was a decision of Lars.
I dont like the bass lines on this one. Jason plays a B and a E on the metalhead riff instead of going E and F like both guitars. Maybe is correct in a theorical way, but kills the "metal feeling" of the riff.
on the upside, AJFA is pretty much a free backing track for all you bass players out there

Holy moly, the song is literally like 5x better
I agree, this version sounds complete, kind of like a symphony if you think about it. The bass helps carry the song better, especially before the solo. Gives it more of a dark and twisted vibe.
3:53 It sounds full and perfect!
4:35 YES!!! This song needs a bass!!!
Metallica- best band on earth
Jason...and justice for all Jason!
Finally one without sounding empty
Sounds so good with bass 🤤
My childhood song!!
if the actual album had bass like this it would no question be my favorite metallica album
The ending always was mad and frantically, but the bass add EVIL.. real, creeping evil over the madness.
Bass gives a lot of power
Jason did not replace Cliff. But Jason gives a different J'e ne c'est pas to Metallica that James and Lars didn't ready for.
@LamboLighting i still remember the day. got a cd from my uncle with a bunch of different metal songs on it. listened to this song and got completely blown away
Imagina q loko ia ficar esse álbum se n fizessem essa putaria com o Jason
...And Justice For Jason!!!
Wow wow wow
I feel 30 yrs younger...
Tq bro...
Belantara Selama!
damn what a difference from the original song.i loved cliff on bass...never really got to hear jasons offerings
wow. chills when the bass comes in. unreal
The Bass makes it sound complete (IMO)
Holly crap , different dimension and power to the song.
Uno de los mejores discos de todos los tiempos incluso con la producción tan penosa que tuvo.
The reason the bass sounds so loud is because this was not a 'remix', just the master AJFA bass track on the CD version of AJFA.
ZackerTheScar If someone could add the bass back into the normal version of One and sync it up correctly, then they can lower the bass enough so it's not overpowering.
there was no bass on the album this is the perfect mix
You should at least be able to hear the bass and hear when it's playing or not. Thanks to the lack of bass AJFA ended up with quite terrible sound, despite having some kickass songs.
www.metalinjection.net/latest-news/lars-ulrich-is-to-blame-for-lack-of-bass-on-and-justice-for-all-says-mixing-engineer ...of course it was Lars.
Man the bass adds another dimension! Mix is really good :)
I remember when this album first came out me and my friends used to joke that the bass sounded like bee farts because it was so low in the mix.
Bass should be noticeable in metal imo and this is pretty much perfect 🤘🏻
Now fix Lar's drums so it doesn't sound like he's beating a plastic bucket
Ese bajo es simplemente orgasmico.
Lars, if you see this comment, *THIS* is how the album should have sounded.
Old age is old age man. Please don't hate on Lars for it, without him we would be without some of the greatest songs to ever bless this planet.
Somehow after hearing this, I can't unhear the bass in some parts of the original
0:56 - always loved that tiny thing Kirk does
At least Bob Rock knew to keep the bass audible in the production!
It was not a decision by the producer, Fleming Rasmussen. It's his biggest regret, and he even said he had a dream of the fans listening to the same version he originally produced, with bass. It was a decision of Lars.
Sweet amazing music to my ears. The bass is what the whole album is missing
I dont like the bass lines on this one. Jason plays a B and a E on the metalhead riff instead of going E and F like both guitars. Maybe is correct in a theorical way, but kills the "metal feeling" of the riff.
Hi which part do you mean?
This is amazing

well I mean I kinda wish the bass was even louder so...
