Totally agree with all the comments here. Other bass added versions of one sound really out of whack and a bit jarring. This version is bang on the money and powerful. Nice work!!🙏
The bass provides a perfect undercurrent to hold the track together. Without the bass line, it sounds choppy and loose. I’m just now noticing that with the bass properly mixed.
@@mosquitoinmagicjohnsonshouse The snark is unnecessary. This is common knowledge. Lars absolutely killed the bass, the stories from the recording sessions are out there.
It is beyond a joke how much better this is with bass. I have been listening to this song for 30 years and now it sounds like I am hearing it for the first time again. Metallica need to stop pissing about and release a remixed version of this album.
Agree although I made the Bass too loud here. Since then I've studied sound engineering, got better equipment, and got better in mixing. Maybe I'll give it another shot today.
Such a good song. I'm outside in the CT winter looking at the stars with a pair of Blue Ella Headphones and a Subpac on, this is just musical bliss- you can pretty much just lay me to rest now, just make sure everyone driving in my funeral procession has this cranked to 11!
Funny, I listened to the isolated bass track was like, cool, but nothing stood out to me. Listening to the whole song with it, and holy crap it’s a full mix now!
Man this is just awesome. Yours is the first remaster in which you can hear THE mix, and not the overdone bass. It just adds power to everything, and I'm gonna listen to your version everyday. Well done mate!
Wow, thank you! Honestly, today I would've done some things different I think. Back then I only knew how to operate a daw and use effects, but today I know so much more about mixing But hey, if people like this version of one I was imagining as a teen, that matters. I'm glad you liked it!
You may wanna turn down the reverb down a little. I like reverb, but I always try to work with as little reverb as I can for some sort of subtle effect. If the reverb was just turned down just a little on the guitars and vocals, you'll have an awesome mix
Well I made this mix using only two tracks: the bass track which I found online, and a high quality mp3 of the original song, nothing much I could do ;) But I agree with you, if I had all the tracks I would probably turn it down a little
I was out gardening yesterday and heard this exact version of the song on some car's stereo at the stoplight by my house. I thought, "Takes me back to 1989. Someone copied 'One' by Metallica pretty darn close. I go online trying to find what song that was, and if other people thought it sounded close to Metallica. I was surprised to find this video! So strange! :o
Wow, i'm actually flattered to know that someone played this in his car, and that made me discover that the video has over 8,000 views! Thank you everyone!
I appreciate it. Obviously the original mix grew to a thing of its own. I made this when I was 16 and I didn't know anything about proper mixing. Thank you!
The original one had great bass in my opinion, this remaster while nice and loud, has messed up equalizer settings. The treble sounds high and the discrepancy of the equalizing is making the music sound sometimes too sharp and sometimes distant at points where the treble and bass are both loud.
Hello there fellow buddy. If you look closely, I made this in august 2011. I was 16 back then and all I had was knowing how to use a DAW. Today i'm in my 2nd year studying sound engineering, so be sure that if I was doing it today, it would sound much better :)
Man that extra bass at the machine gun part is like hitting a fucking wall of metal. A lot more balls to it
One with bass, holy shit!
Sad but true
Totally agree with all the comments here. Other bass added versions of one sound really out of whack and a bit jarring. This version is bang on the money and powerful. Nice work!!🙏
so much better love the reverb during the double bass part
I love the reverb at 4:36

I played this song with a few friends at my highschool talent show. When I started the guitar solo, the whole auditorium went ape shit 😍😍😍
No bass wtf
High School? High school people know Metallica? Dayum!
@@michaeldover if so, then there is still hope
@@michaeldover go look at the Asian Continent, in here Rock Family still big even metal can winning a talent show
I still believe in youth!!!
Love the bass of course, but the reverb is a nice touch, too.
I agree
Sounds like the "Ride The Lightning Era"
the added bass has gotten me back into this track... i love it
And justice for all is a great album, but the production isn't the best. Bass is the thing it needs to be a masterpiece.
Yeah that's Lars' doing. He had to have it HIS way or the highway, and unfortunately his way sounded like shit.
@@Pauly421 somehow, Lars’s way always sounds shit. St Anger was also mostly “his way”. Don’t know wtf happened to Death Magnetic
Because you’re a sound engineer and know so much

Best remix of One of youtube.
I wish it was like this on the actual album D;
Me too. I have the actual album. But, this version just sounds better.

Lmao there's no proper way to mix or master. It's all personal preference. Sounds great just like the original
Yeah the reverb ruined this song it's crap
Música clásica moderna 👌
Mi tema favorito de toda la vida, nada pero nada lo supera
Ok. Now this is how this track is should sound. Thanks for uploading this!

Holy fuck. I saw you on the comment section of an asmr video a while ago. What a coincidence.

4:36 one of the most memorable breakdowns in metal history...
This is the best version with bass
Sounds awesome dude!
One >battery
Why are you even comparing?
you're just telling us what song to listen to next right ?
Just wouldlike was Clifford Lee Burton finish.
'Metallica, One [ With Bass ] Holy Shit"!!!!
This just makes the original sound like it's being played through a tin can, if I'm honest. This sounds great.
Great Job remastering THIS song yo!!
This song should be our national anthem
WOW! This sounds great thanks :D
Masterpiece....
Damn good touch to it.
sounds like the band is playing in a large empty room
pedzé 4:40-7:23 Yeah, this part has an echo, I don’t mind it though.
It's the reverb effect
Awesome remaster, love it !

Holy shit, that reverb
Gotta feel for Jason here, the producers did him dirty.
I think it's actually mostly Lars's fault
Awesome song, good job it sounds very good.
lol thankes :) but however i made the bass too loud, now on my computer i lowed it a bit so it won't take over the song but still audible.
... And justice for all the best album! Metallica ever🤘💀🤘
esta geniaaaaaaal!
THE BEST !!!!!!!
This mix is the best in YT... But the 10k and up is too saturated IMHO... But everything from 20 Hz up to 4k Hz is PERFECT!!!
Adjusted for all
Much better than the album
you are an artist...
this is just the sex :D
Gago!
If you kick the speed up to 1.25 at the more ramped up part of the song it sounds like how they would do it live
It needs a little bit of Cowbell
...And reverb for all
Jason has his justice!
muy buena pero te recomiendo trabajar la bateria por separado tambien , ya que se pierde entre los agudos reverb
good to know this is how it would sound if they let jason play on this album
Honestly maybe I should give it another go. Today I can do a better job than I did 10 years ago.
@@ethai1 still did an awesome job
I play this without bass player and so many ask me why,me:thats original
sounds like a beast at 0.95 speed
Sounds like it has some reverb added as well
Yes there is - you can actually read in the description exactly what was added/changed
Imagine Tomas Haake (from Meshuggah) drumming for this song
GREAT JOB!!!
LMAOOOOO FINALLY SOME BASS
A little to much bass. But the reverb sounds amazing
Agreed. Back then I was so excited hearing bass, I didn't notice it was a little too loud. Glad you liked it!
Lol 😆 I haven’t seen anyone mention that this whole remastered started in Guitar Hero 3.
Yeah, but only gamers would understand😂

is it bad if i cant notice the bass?
Bob The Builder i'd say its weird because I made the bass super loud because of lack of knowledge about remastering
It's means your an absolute idiot. It is quite obvious. It comes in at about 1:11
