Since they normally play live in Eb I feel that the vocals would transfer better using a live version rather than the studio only because it's just a half step than the full step. I understand the want for the studio version though
The pitch of the music and the vocals are pitched down identically here. When they play in Eb James is also singing flat compared to the original which is why it also sounds good there. Using Eb vocals with D music would not sound as good as you think as the vocals and the music would be 1/2 step off from each other creating a slight dissonance.
@@AhYesIndeedItsFunTime I was trying to get at pitching a live version of the music down a half step, as the vocals would also shift down a half step rather than shifting a studio version down a full step, I feel like the vocals would warp as much. I get the wording of my comment could have been better, it did make it seem like I was wording it as using live vocals not pitched down on top of pitched down backing. But I was just getting at how like you said James is already singing flat along with flat instruments, if you pitched it down a half step the vocals wouldn’t sound as modified as they do in this because it sounds like vocals that have been tuned to the “correct key”

Yeah I retract that, D is a whole step down. But for the song to be played in drop tuning you'd have to tune to D standard. Dropping the low E to D does nothing for the song unless you move every note in the song down, in which case just drop the whole guitar to D standard tuning, and play it the same as if in E standard...
@@devildriveride6278 You can play the song in drop D same as D standard but you must rearrange the notes on the guitar and that is pretty much difficult
@@jovemickovski2846 if you play the song in drop D, you just fret the open low E notes on the second fret. Which now the D becomes E in that case the tuning of the guitar doesn't drop the tone of the song and would defeat the purpose. That's why I said drop the whole guitar to standard D tuning and play the song as normal, it's now dropped the sound of the song entirely. And you don't change how it's played.

D sharp and D standard are simply the best tunings!
Not too high not too low.
Perfection at its finest!
couldn’t agree more bro
Drop D is pretty good too. My tunings range from B standard to Drop D, but never higher than that.
Try c# standard dawg it’s changed my opinions on songs specifically from death and other bands like protector, napalm death, etc
drop c is the best
C# ON TOP!

the sweet sounds of a guitar tuned down to d
now that the intro guitar is in d tuned i can’t stop tearing up from hearing it
