Good comprehensive video. I have tried both methods but not yet planted the water propagated in soil. I will try the Coco Peet: perlite and sand method. What about fertilizing or providing nutrition to the plant? Please make a video on that too.
Very helpful. I have had no luck in propagation of my chinese evergreen, I've tried 5 times. Accidentally broke a piece off this morning, so I have to try again(I hate to just throw pieces away). Hope luck is with me.🤞
Excellent 👌. I may try to grow some cuttings from my aglaonema in soil Thank you for sharing the complete guide of growing aglaonema plants from cuttings
Great video and loved the step-by-step and comparative form. Would love to see something like this for Rubber Tree Plants and plants that require division!
Hello, thanks for the video. I put aglaonema in water in march and it hasn’t roots, but has new growing leaves. Could you tell me why it hasn’t roots? It has root spots, but they were on the stem from the beginning, they have grown a little.
Madam thank you so much for such a good infermative video. For my aglonima plant there was root rot so i cut the rotted part and placed it in the water to develop roots. But since 2months no roots to be seen. Yesterday i shifted into soil. Will it grow madam and develop roots. I am very much worried. In the beginning of the video you said we should be very patient which is very much correct. Thankyou once again.
I have 2 pieces rooting in soil and I used rooting medium but while the stem stays green and healthy looking, the leaves on both cuttings eventually started to fold in on themselves. Not yellowed or spotting, just look like they are dying. I am not sure what is going on so moved the pot to a slightly sunnier location and they just are not getting better.
It's fine, as long as the stem and roots are healthy. They will eventually grow new leaves. It's not uncommon for newly propagated plants to have its intact leaves die out.
They curl up because of too much dryness/sunlight to minimise transpiration. Keep it indoors and check for any mealy bugs (white web-like infestations)
I got a stam cutting of Silver Bay from the guy that looks after the plants in a building that I'm in and out of fairly regularly! I've had it in water for two weeks! It is sending out a new leaf, but there are no signs of root growth? How long does it take for the roots to form? I very rarely see the guy that gave me the cutting!
I had two so far. Both turned yellow within a month or so. Chucked them out. Couldn’t be bothered with them. Your big plant looks very yellow too. Is that normal then?!
I had 2 parts cut and putting them in water waiting for roots to put them in soil but its ben about a month and they are not rooting.. I didn’t know that i can plant in soil without roots !
@@smallthingswithmoumita9444 thank you for the reply. İ didn't give up on it because interestingly after 2 month it grew one leaf but there was no rooting at all no single one at all, i was changing the water every couple days hoping it will grow roots, i also cut the stem 3 times because there was browning in the cut after weeks and weeks of waiting so i thought maybe a clean cut might help growing a root and so i wait 2 month after that i saw a new leaf i kept waiting and one day i saw a root sprouting after 3-4 month i was literally thinking of throwing it in the trash just couple days before i notice that small root, thankfully i was lazy to throw it away in trash :D and now it has a lot of root growth so i will keep changing the water every 3 days and wait one more month for it to release more roots before i plant it in soil. İt was a long waiting but worth it. Never give up, patience and love is worth everything
Hi. I'm propagating my agleonema into water for about a week now and I notice the leaves seem to become a little droopy. Is there anythinf wrong with it??
This method of propagating aglaonema is very good. I would like to share another very effective method of propagating aglaonema with FLORAL FOAM in 25 days. Aglaonema trees have a very high survival rate and are healthy trees..you can watch here: th-cam.com/video/G4DrE1aJNYM/w-d-xo.html
For me water is the best media for propagating any plant
I have been trying to salvage a 10 year old Chinese evergreen whose roots had become rotten and this was just perfect!
Where you able to save it?
love this. direct and insightful.. My cutting just started growing roots so I wasnt sure what size pot to put her in but that was answered here to
Best 5 minute video ever. It answered all of my questions, thank you so much!!!
You're so welcome! I'm so glad that it was helpful!😊

This video helped me a lot! Thank you! 😀
Wonderful video. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just dropped mine when moving it and I broke a big steam and I hope it doesn’t die.

The same happened to me as well...

I have had no luck in propagating these plants. I've tried both methods. I have 3 I'm working on now.
Sorry to hear that. Try water propagation. Good luck👍

Can you do this with cacti soil and a mix of perlite? Great video! Thanks so much!
Yes you can!
How long did it take to root in water and did you let cutting callous over before putting in water ?

My plant stem cutting turning black and leaf going yellowish in water. is it possible root or not i have very small stem after root rot....
Yes, you can root the stem cutting. But make sure to remove the rotten part.
Thanks for such a informative video, could you please share the name of 2nd(one propogated in soil) variety of aglaonema?
Hi, the second one is Aglaonema commutatum 'Pseudobracteatum'.
Mine didn't grow any roots it's been inside the water for 3 month now:( i don't know what's the problem
Hi...rooting time may vary depending on the environmental conditions. Don't worry, If your cutting looks healthy, it will soon develop roots.

Did the soil less medium work as well? Cocopeat + perlite ?
yeah, the cuttings root well in soilless medium.
How frequently do we need to change the water...kindly answer...
You can change the water once or twice a week.
Hi. I'm propagating my agleonema into water for about a week now and I notice the leaves seem to become a little droopy. Is there anythinf wrong with it??
I think it’s just needs sun light Bc mine was also droopy and when I put it in the window it looks happy now
@@tamakibear178 I see. I'm going to try that. Thanks for replying 🙂

This method of propagation for this plant or any other method never works for me
Please suggest write time to grow stem cutting
Hi...spring and early summer months best for propagation. You can also propagate during monsoon (the moisture in air helps in rooting).
