Colin O'Donague is one of the most talented actors I have ever seen!! He's absolutely perfect in the role of Hook and I love how different he is in real life!! It's just amazing how he can go from being so shy and modest to bold and sexy (not that he's not sexy off screen)!! He's officially raised my standards for men to an unreachable level.

Turns out... Hook was right. Rumple has AGAIN betrayed Belle to hold on to his power. And Belle was wrong: the one with a rotten heart was Rumple; as it turned out, Killian's heard was big, red and pretty.
Belle is right on Hook stealing Rumpel's wife and taunting him. To be fair though, Hook is rightfully mad at Rumpel for cutting his hand and killing her Both Hook and Rumpel are right and wrong in their own way so neither can take the high ground.
Fallen Rain To be honest, Milah was a bit of a bitch to Rumpel and Bae. She left him simply because he didn't want to fight in a war. That is not an usual thing. He wanted to be with her and his son, but she left them both. To me, she was very rude.
Jessie Carter I can't argue against that. I'm just saying it wasn't all of Killian's fault. It was also Milah's for being impulsive. She made the final decision and acted upon that decision on her own accord without any prodding from Killian. Did that immediately make him a good guy at the time? Of course not. We all know he, out of all people, was far from pure. He wasn't perfect, and still isn't, but he's come a long way from where he started. Unlike theonewhoshallnobenamedbecauseheisnotworthyofsuchanacknowledgement.
a horrible friendship that came out of no where, Hook never apologizing for shouting Belle and giving her amnesia and still keep saying that all of this is only to hurt Rumple, and he was never right about Rumple. he was the real villain in Rumple's story to begin with.

I love that one eyebrow that shoots up when Hook hear's Belle's 'Because his heart is true line.' Of course, I love everything about Gillian but that little subtle bit of acting was hilarious.

Well, what about looking at where Rumple is coming from? He was afraid to leave his child fatherless and became the town coward for it. His dad left him. Everyone looked down on him. He took the power to constantly wanting to prove he was Strong. Also since Milah left him and Cora rejected him, he thought that No one was able to love him. That why he have been in disbelief that Belle actually loved him. He was so afraid to be a Coward. That doesn't make it Better that he killed so many. Its not an excuse, but its an explanation

While Hook may not have had darkness in him, he spent the same amount of time thinking of nothing but vengeance for his wife, and yet there is not a speck of black on his heart when Rumplestiltskin tears it out. Even Mary Margaret has a piece of black on her heart and she's always preaching hope and kindness. Rumple's heart isn't true at all nor is Killian's rotten.

To be fair to Belle, it took her some time to see that Rumple had good in him - we see that in "Lacey". The only encounters she had with Hook up to this point had all involved him threatening her or using her in some way - it's logical that she would doubt/mistrust him. I knew there was a reason Rumpelstiltskin was my favorite character (right behind Hook of course)... underneath the monster that took him over... I've never claimed that Hook stole Milah, I'm just annoyed that he let her leave Bae the way she did, without a word. She didn't even leave any kind of message for him. What makes it even worse is that Hook told Bae he was abandonded too, so he knows how it feels (unless he was just lying). Being in love is not good enough explanation. I think they were both just cowards.
Belle mentions the time how Rumple was BEFORE he became the Dark One, by saying that she sees that his heart is true. Before becoming corrupted that was the time he was a good man. THAT is what she still sees in him; that good, loving man whose heart is as pure as gold. As long as he's bound to that dagger, you must see him as the Dark One, and know that as long he is the Dark One he'll do bad things. BUT his intentions are good. I like this character alot. Like Belle, I also see him as true.
I like how Rumple and Hook's story causes so much interesting discussion in the comments. I personally think it is odd that Belle looks past Rumple murdering his wife. Milah may not have been very nice to Rumple but that does not excuse him killing her. It was evil. Although Hook wasn't really in any position to talk. He murdered charming's father and his own. He knowingly left his little brother an orphan though I can't quite remember if he knew charming's dad had a son. Haven't seen that death scene in ages. I also don't think the fact he weirdly gets into Belle's personal space in this scene and erases her memories at the end of the episode should be overlooked. At this point both are horrible villains. Hook and Rumple both became decent people in the end though it took the latter much longer.
Judging from season 5, episode 14 (from their only scene together), I think he saw the spirit of adventure in her and someone who was passionate about traveling like he was. She saw an opportunity to have a better life and even though it was despicable of her to leave her own child, she had all the right in the world to make that decision.
Yes, but you have to remember that her husband messed with her reproductive rights and decide the "rest of [her] short, narrow life". That she was also depressed and wanted a life different than what her husband wanted. You can't really blame her. It's irresponsible, yes, but she had all the right in the world to do it.
As much as Hook can be a jerk I still love him! Peter Pan was is my fav story and he plays Captain Hook wonderfully! I really really really hope that he and Emma get together!!!

I think Hook's more of the anti-villian. He is technically a good man, but when he is hurt or someone he loves is hurt, then he'll fly off the handle. makes me wonder what will happen if anything ever happened to emma...
the whole belle speech befrore she clocks him over the head just annoys the shit out of me. it could have been so much better with different words, different reasoning, but its so simple to the point of being childish... oy "His heart is true " sounds like something a 4 year old says.
i think you are right. They could have written a better speech for her here. Also i found the way she clocks him a bit silly and too easy.. or maybe it acting was wrong, i don't know. But the previous part, with Hook telling her the truth about Milah and Rumple, and she trying to denied it, it was a really great moment
Maybe there just was nothing to ask. Belle got to know all about Milah's death, and she already knew what The Dark One is capable of. But she also knows that it's not true him, it's a curse. I think that's what she meant when she said she believes that Rumple's heart is true.
No I agree with you. He WANTS to be seen as rotten because he truly believes that he is. I just think it is rather hypocritical of Belle to say his heart is rotten but can so easily forgive Rumple for what he did. Besides, he doesn't actually say it to her, she is gone at this point. She says it to him, and like I said, it is rather hypocritical of her.
I can't believe how sexy Hook is, and I do mean Hook. I looked up the actor and he's very cute, but the guyliner and leather and that swagger are what makes him sexy to me.
Milah's choice was not Hook's fault. But he was in the same plot with her. What I'm trying to say is that their way to run away was nasty. When Milah asked Hook to take her away, he should have to tell her to sort things out with her family first, or at least leave them a message, instead of humiliating Rumple and ignoring Bae.
gotta say, i applaud belle for remaining so cool. i would have been a breathless mess and lost track of what he was saying within seconds of that little interrogation :L phew.
I don't think anyone felt sorry for Milah when Rumple killed her, a seer spooked him which made him injure himself so he didn't have to fight in the ogre war...not to mention after becoming the dark one he then stopped the ogre war saving all those kids and brought them home! And he never would have killed her if she hadn't been cruel and rubbed it in his face that she never loved him, she was a horrible mother and wife who used Rumple's 'cowardice' as an excuse to run away and Rumple was led to believe she was dead...of course he would be even more heartbroken and angry when he found out she basically left him and abandoned their son. However I also understand that Hook loved her and it broke his heart when she was killed. But Its not Rumples fault that Milah pretended to love him, she should have told him the truth..only a coward would pretend to die just to get out of being honest. She ran away from her husband and son while Rumple was forced to give up the good in him just to save their son... Rumple was a very timid man, and his love for his son drove him to kill the Dark One and become the dark one. Rumple is the only character who went through so much to get his happy ending, he made a lot of things happen for other people so that he could find his son and in the end he had to watch his son die. The one thing he fought so hard for, losing a child is the worst thing that can happen to a parent.
I was never sympathetic to Hook in this situation. It annoyed me how Hook took Rumple's Wife and acted like Rumple was more wrong for taking Milah from him. That is like when someone wrongs you and you get them back and they act like you were more wrong for retaliating against them.

I think you have free will, but the curse makes you chose the wrong path. I don't know, i'va always thought in that way since the chapter when Rumepel kills Zoso and becames the Dark One

I think Gold's son, Bae/Neil, is Peter Pan. Because in the episode were Emma finds Bae/Neil in he talks about how he's had run ins with Hook in the past. And then when Belle said, "He just wants to find his son" and Hook said, "What makes you think he wants to be found?" I'm convinced that Bae/Neil is Peter Pan. And either Hook and he were good friends because of the bitterness against gold; or, bitter enemies because Bae/Neil was Gold's son.

I personally think it is odd that Belle looks past Rumple murdering his wife. Milah may not have been very nice to Rumple but that does not excuse him killing her. It was evil.
Although Hook wasn't really in any position to talk. He murdered charming's father and his own. He knowingly left his little brother an orphan though I can't quite remember if he knew charming's dad had a son. Haven't seen that death scene in ages. I also don't think the fact he weirdly gets into Belle's personal space in this scene and erases her memories at the end of the episode should be overlooked. At this point both are horrible villains.
Hook and Rumple both became decent people in the end though it took the latter much longer.
All right, Belle, that was a pretty badass move, but that exit line? You need to work on those, dearie.

Judging from season 5, episode 14 (from their only scene together), I think he saw the spirit of adventure in her and someone who was passionate about traveling like he was. She saw an opportunity to have a better life and even though it was despicable of her to leave her own child, she had all the right in the world to make that decision.

Yes, but you have to remember that her husband messed with her reproductive rights and decide the "rest of [her] short, narrow life".
That she was also depressed and wanted a life different than what her husband wanted. You can't really blame her. It's irresponsible, yes, but she had all the right in the world to do it.

As much as Hook can be a jerk I still love him! Peter Pan was is my fav story and he plays Captain Hook wonderfully! I really really really hope that he and Emma get together!!!

I think Hook's more of the anti-villian. He is technically a good man, but when he is hurt or someone he loves is hurt, then he'll fly off the handle. makes me wonder what will happen if anything ever happened to emma...
the whole belle speech befrore she clocks him over the head just annoys the shit out of me. it could have been so much better with different words, different reasoning, but its so simple to the point of being childish... oy "His heart is true " sounds like something a 4 year old says.
i think you are right. They could have written a better speech for her here. Also i found the way she clocks him a bit silly and too easy.. or maybe it acting was wrong, i don't know.
But the previous part, with Hook telling her the truth about Milah and Rumple, and she trying to denied it, it was a really great moment
Maybe there just was nothing to ask. Belle got to know all about Milah's death, and she already knew what The Dark One is capable of. But she also knows that it's not true him, it's a curse. I think that's what she meant when she said she believes that Rumple's heart is true.
No I agree with you. He WANTS to be seen as rotten because he truly believes that he is. I just think it is rather hypocritical of Belle to say his heart is rotten but can so easily forgive Rumple for what he did. Besides, he doesn't actually say it to her, she is gone at this point. She says it to him, and like I said, it is rather hypocritical of her.
I can't believe how sexy Hook is, and I do mean Hook. I looked up the actor and he's very cute, but the guyliner and leather and that swagger are what makes him sexy to me.
Milah's choice was not Hook's fault. But he was in the same plot with her.
What I'm trying to say is that their way to run away was nasty. When Milah asked Hook to take her away, he should have to tell her to sort things out with her family first, or at least leave them a message, instead of humiliating Rumple and ignoring Bae.

I've been struggling with this idea too. If Belle can see past all the bad Rumple's done, why can't she see that Hook can have a good side to him?
I don't think anyone felt sorry for Milah when Rumple killed her, a seer spooked him which made him injure himself so he didn't have to fight in the ogre war...not to mention after becoming the dark one he then stopped the ogre war saving all those kids and brought them home! And he never would have killed her if she hadn't been cruel and rubbed it in his face that she never loved him, she was a horrible mother and wife who used Rumple's 'cowardice' as an excuse to run away and Rumple was led to believe she was dead...of course he would be even more heartbroken and angry when he found out she basically left him and abandoned their son. However I also understand that Hook loved her and it broke his heart when she was killed. But Its not Rumples fault that Milah pretended to love him, she should have told him the truth..only a coward would pretend to die just to get out of being honest. She ran away from her husband and son while Rumple was forced to give up the good in him just to save their son... Rumple was a very timid man, and his love for his son drove him to kill the Dark One and become the dark one. Rumple is the only character who went through so much to get his happy ending, he made a lot of things happen for other people so that he could find his son and in the end he had to watch his son die. The one thing he fought so hard for, losing a child is the worst thing that can happen to a parent.
I was never sympathetic to Hook in this situation. It annoyed me how Hook took Rumple's Wife and acted like Rumple was more wrong for taking Milah from him. That is like when someone wrongs you and you get them back and they act like you were more wrong for retaliating against them.
Belle, we're being a little judgy today, aren't we? I mean after EVERYTHING Rumple done, and how you have defended him, I'm not sure you are the right person to call anyone irredeemable.
To the people who say Rumple is anything but pure and good. That is not true, we all have our demons, and by the way he suffered, I don't blame him for the way he is. He's just like Erik from The Phantom of the Opera. Sure, he killed and it's a moral sin, but people change because they want to be strong. Even a monster was a gentle person until someone did them wrong. That's what Beauty & the Beast is about. Not just 'don't judge a book by it's cover'.
he has, but i think that Dark One curse makes your heart dark. (after all it's dark magic). The previous Dark One Zoso explained to him that the curse was a burden. I think you have free will, but the curse makes you chose the wrong path. I don't know, i'va always thought in that way since the chapter when Rumepel kills Zoso and becames the Dark One

I think Gold's son, Bae/Neil, is Peter Pan. Because in the episode were Emma finds Bae/Neil in he talks about how he's had run ins with Hook in the past. And then when Belle said, "He just wants to find his son" and Hook said, "What makes you think he wants to be found?" I'm convinced that Bae/Neil is Peter Pan. And either Hook and he were good friends because of the bitterness against gold; or, bitter enemies because Bae/Neil was Gold's son.
Hook has a tendency to get in everyone's faces...
