Being surprised is not the right emotion that means they didn't know they loved each other that deeply, they were probably aware of it themselves. Personally I thought that was the lamest test, Emma and Neal loved each too she even said she would have come to the underworld to save him if she knew she could, if Neal was on fire I still think Emma would have helped him first before grabbing her heart that is not true love that is being noble.

I'm a Captain Swan shipper and this moment melted my heart, but this moment kind of reminds me of the scene where Emma rescues Marian/Zelena. Emma's just that noble. I wanted to hope that they were True Love before this, and they were proved to be, but I also feel like the writers basically just said ' True Love's Kiss is getting overused let's do this instead ' and didn't take into account just how noble of a person that Emma was.
Anybody else thought The thing with the hearts is somehow ridiculous? You can't actually live with the heart Outside your chest...? 🙈🤣 But well, it's a fairy tale so whatever but this was the only thing in the series that kind of disturbed me. Still love the show. ❤
