What an awesome interview with one of the biggest legends in Thrash Metal. Kreator are as relevant in the metal scene now as they were in the 80s, Mille’s songwriting hasn’t let up one bit, it is amazing. There’s some great advice here that any singer can learn from, having experienced loss of vocals during a show myself, I’ve definitely taken some notes from his experience!!!
Love this guy for about 20 years now. A real thrash metal God! He is active for 40 years now and still going strong, not stopping at all, what a legend! Every Kreator album is great more or less. And they are still amazing live. Years cant do nothing to him or his crew. Only love and respect for Mille.
Kreator is my musical drug. It's funny how I first learned of them. I was watching an interview with Jesse Michaels from Operation Ivy, another of my favorites. Jesse said, "Kreator is the best thrash band". I heard that and think to myself, " No, Destruction is the best". Then I had to check out this Kreator for myself. It wasn't very long before I agreed with Jesse's opinion about Kreator from that interview.
I've always loved Mille's vocals. It really struck me as a kid when I started listening to them. My first Kreator album was Endless Pain and I know he wasn't the only vocalist on that album, but something about the German accent just makes their vocals perfect for thrash IMO. To me Kreator has always had perfect vocals for thrash because the vocals are very clean, you can understand every word (well almost) and the vocals aren't over strained, like too much screaming or too distorted and trying to hard, like Cannibal Corpse or something. To me, Kreator vocals have just always had the exact right "flavor" for the music. For so many extreme metal band I'll listen to them and the music sounds great and then the vocals start and ruin it all. But with Kreator, the moment I heard their vocals I just loved it and I remember being like 15 and hearing them the first time and really the vocals just blew me away and I loved the music largely because of the vocals, which was very unusual for me with extreme metals bands. So my complements Mille, be seeing you soon (4th time to see Kreator live!)
so, it was Kiss huh ? I hadnt listen to them in about 40 years, but recently I rediscovered my old faves, and rather enjoyed them- understanding them better than before. It would be interesting to learn what he thinks of them now. Interesting interview. thx
The two most complete thrash metal artists live in the 80's were Petrozza and Mustaine:both composers , singers ,rythm guitarist and excellent LEAD guitarist too....no other band's member could show those abilities.
Even though they were not better vocalists than Hetfield ..im the 80s my true heroes were Petroza and Mustaine ..these two could besides singing ,play rythm guitar and lead guitar.Real Skillful thrash metal guitarists ..Helfield was mostly a power chord guitar player ( yes i was a punk once said indeed !) ..he even didnt record any guitar in Metallica first recording ..Lloyd Grant did it.
I disagree. To me, Petrozza and Mustaine are FAR better vocalists than Hetfield. Especially Mustaine. Hetfield's vocals, like his guitar work....are so one dimensional and even boring. Mille & Dave have more unique vocal styles, and are better guitarists, especially Mustaine, whos skills easily rivals Kirk Hammets
@mikekeith2029 recent stuff is more melodic, over produced, too sterile, has no grit to it and completely lacks how insanely aggressive they were from Endless Pain up to Coma of Souls. Pleasure to Kill is still the best Kreator album.
A guy in school brought in a copy of a tape in late 86 or early 87, it had 3 songs on one side and a few on the other, the ones on Side A turned out to be Flag of Hate single, I've no idea where he got it as I doubt it was in shops here at that time, we were all singing "It's Alive" for song 2 as we didn't know what Millie was singing at the time, he made us a few copies (sorry Millie) so when Terrible Certainty came out we bought it (on record) when it was in shops here, still my favourite album and in 2023 Kreator is still my number one most listened to on new fangled LastFM
Kreator is my favorite Thrash band. Mille is legend! 🤘
Pleasure to kill was Kreator's Reign In Blood.
I’ve listened to Kreator since they started and still loving it age 55. Cool band !
I love talking to Mille and Ventor about songwriting because people don't that often and it's we musicians' favorite thing to talk about usually.
Mille has always been one of my favorite thrash vocalists.

I have been looooving Kreator. I didn't know much about them until a few years ago, but what a treasure trove of great music!
Mille such a cool and nice dude!
I think What Mille says about being 100% sure to do music applies to everything. Always good to listen to this Man
Its so cool to hear his parents were suportive for his music career.

I am Always impressed by how good his English is
Germans generally have excellent English skills. Especially the younger generation.
by far the best thrash metal band
Kreator was always on the top of the heap to me in the thrash genre especially in the 80's.
What a nice guy.
20:53 Absolutely the right words!

Terrible Certainty is my Reign in Blood. Absolute perfection to me.
Cool comparison 🤘!
I love kreator ❤❤❤❤

the man who thought Status Quo was scary wrote 'pleasure to kill' 🤣

I'll take Mille's vocals over Hetfield any day
@@joenickell6323 oh me too. I cant stand Hetfields boring vocals
YEAH YEAH!!@@steverobertson1729
I don't like their recent stuff that much, but I respect him nonetheless, he is an icon
I love their recent stuff. 🤘
They never went commercial like Metallica, what’s wrong with their recent stuff?
@mikekeith2029 recent stuff is more melodic, over produced, too sterile, has no grit to it and completely lacks how insanely aggressive they were from Endless Pain up to Coma of Souls.
Pleasure to Kill is still the best Kreator album.
I think they keep getting better
Kreator, Sodom, and Destruction
The Big Three of Teutonic Thrash
