- The newer the car, the more surprises it has during repair. In this tesla the quarter panel and all steel elements are made of metal which is very difficult to fix. It didn't work out the way I wanted, but judge for yourself after watching the video.
Чем новее машина, тем больше сюрпризов она преподнесет при ремонте. В этой Tesla заднее крыло и все элементы из стали сделаны из металла, который очень трудно исправить. Получилось не так, как я хотел, но судите сами, после просмотра видео.

I really admire your skills with any type of metal, specially on this particular vehicle you manage to repair a totaled Tesla doing the gaps of body panels better than what they come from factory (they are notorious to have flaws or wrongly assembled by robots).. he he ! Maybe boron steel? Thin but very hard and almost impossible to repair when damaged. But as usual, Arthur made an excellent job of the repair 👍👍

Boron steel alloy cutting, welding, and bending is difficult considering the 3500F temp required. I'm not sure after seeing this repair video if this car has the Boron metal alloy. Thin metal heats quickly and a close eye may not be enough to work with this metal. There may be several other metals of high strength that Tesla is using that is in the scope of repair
as we see here. The speed of the metal working in a Boron alloy is very slow due to the temperatures involved and control methods needed. I have doubts that Tesla has this metal.
@@vincentrolfe1384 Maybe not boron steel, but clearly some kind of high strength steel. Many cars have such steel now which makes repairs difficult. 👍👍

After this video, I would say that Tesla s are a PITA to repair ... the amount of craftsmanship put in repairing that quarter panel is mindboggling for me. I would like to see a video about yourself, how you learned to do this kind of work.

Yes definitely so much skills in the metal.. sad that are not too many independent skilled workers left around on Europe countries.. very few crafters are left and most of those are working now in the big dealers services charging extra because the dealer-service-shop policy that gain most % from the overall body repairs / +parts costs that way customers will have to pay higher bills for each hour the car is repaired..

Very good. I would never heat HSS though you can cold work it all day long but once heated the molecules revert back to regular steel. Other than that excellent job. Pick and file work clearly a challenge if you got to save part. But it worked. Also I didn’t see you video any measuring. Would have loved to see you measure. If you don’t have any specs I can get you under hood specs or underbody specs. In America so not all models you may come across.

You did a great job Arthur, saving the 1/4 panel , your skill levels fantastic, the front end is very strong on chassis , but they bend in accident like others , hope you save a little from this to your next holiday 😉👍👍💸💸💰💰
Amazing! Arthur you are a true artist. I do wonder though if they can afford a Model Y, a €100k+ car, why didn't the own just take the car to a Tesla authorised bodyshop who would have had access to all the correct repair panels?
