@@Whyzer00 thanks! I will be making some new updated videos as many have asked me to do the same. Life got in the way so I will certainly make a comeback and put out a video this week for sure
@@Jetblink619 Nice, I look forward to seeing the videos . Since this 500 I'm done for , already plotting my next one. Be happy to send pics of this 500
Sorry for the disappearance, life has been on the go and busy busy since the spring. I will certainly be making many more videos coming up as I will be doing multiple projects, mainly a new 720 gallon build. Stay tuned!
@@Jetblink619 just glad to have you back. I’m fairly new to African Cichlids so I’m taking tips from all of you content creators so that my fish can thrive as yours do
Thanks! One of my issues with the k1 is how loud it is, which is one of the main reasons I don’t run it in the 300 anymore. I do have a ton of it sitting around and there is a chance I could use it on the new plywood build so we’ll see!
Your setup is awesome...so inspiring...I recently bought a 75g with a 40g sump, and it has a single durso(40mm) overflow. Do I need to also have an emergency drain as well? Kindly advise as I want to ensure that my setup is correct to avoid problems later on.
your tanks and sump setups look amazing. could you please tell me what is in the hefty container in your sump? What media do you use in it? In the video you mentioned a future summary on this which I have not found.
I will make an update vid on this setup/sump. The Hefty container is what I came up with to replace the automatic roller filters I had on this tank. It is a mechanical filtration, consisting of different sponges, and water polishing filter pads. Vid to follow later this week.
Honestly I can’t say that I noticed much of a difference whatsoever. That being said, I have had the scrubber off for the past few months. I may entertain the idea of trying it again in the future with the hope of better…..or some….results.
Thank you! I haven’t done water changes on this tank in almost two years. I have a constant drip system set up on this tank (automatic water changes). It changes out roughly 25 gallons per day. I have a video or two on my channel on it that shows how it’s all set up if interested.
Just got a hold of your content and im going to need you to make another comeback. You got some of the nicest fish and set ups ive seen plus

This fish tank inspired me to do a 500 gallon peacock tank after 20 yrs out of the hobby. Amazing how things have changed, I could've bought a Harley.
Sounds awesome, I would love to see the tank! I am in the process of building a 750 gallon tank right now in the basement. Videos to follow.

Yes!
welcome back bro! Surprised you didn't go back to the K1 media.
Thanks!

Happy to see you back, thanks for making vids again looking forward to it
Should be a fun ride ahead with the new build 👍
… and all my tanks are with white sand 😍😍
Glad your back. I was waiting for your vids. Can’t wait to see what you put out next!

Thanks! You should be fine with the single Durso drain. I have a 90 gallon that runs the same set up as you have.

Do you notice any difference in the fish switching fom the black sand to arognite sand?
Zero difference
What was the final review on the algae scrubber? Was it worth it?
Honestly I can’t say that I noticed much of a difference whatsoever. That being said, I have had the scrubber off for the past few months. I may entertain the idea of trying it again in the future with the hope of better…..or some….results.
wow... what do you feed them??
A large variety of pellet foods and also spiraling flake. I will make a separate video on that.
@@Jetblink619 Great can't wait to see that 1
What do you think is the algae scrubber worth it?
Beautiful tank! How often do you do water changes and how much water?

Also phosphate pads and algae fix will clear them bad boys right up speaking from experience 💪🏾💯
I will give that a shot! I’d love to get that green algae off the rocks….certainly isn’t coming off by scrubbing them so idk….
Hi…can u tell us whats the total turnover rate ur presently running in this 300G?
The 300 is running around 1700 GPH at the moment, so turnover rate is almost 6 times per hour.
What lights do you have by chance ?
These were 30w LED flood lights, 12000K in this video.
I have since changed them out to Aqua Ilumination lights.
@@Jetblink619Thanks for the quick reply. Im currently looking for new lights for my 180gal. NICE TANK BTW.
Why did you get rid of the K-1 media?
He said it was too loud
