300 Gallon Revamped!
มุมมอง 3.3Kปีที่แล้ว
300 Gallon Discus/Angelfish community tank update! We are loving this redesigned setup. Planning to add a handful more Discus and Rainbow fish in a variety of bright colors. Roller filters were removed due to being more hassle than they were worth. They are not capable of handling much water flow unfortunately, and was tired of hearing paper jamming alarms going off for the paper rolls getting ...
300G- Something New
มุมมอง 2Kปีที่แล้ว
Looking forward to a fresh new start on the 300 gallon tank as I move my African cichlids to the new 750 this week. I was very happy to remove the 3D background from this tank as I was just simply tired of it. After having it on the tank for the last four years I decided it was time for a change. I re-siliconed the tank and it is now up and running with the new aqua scaping and couldn't be happ...

Some basics of this plywood build. I will break it down in separate videos such as lighting, filtration, aquascaping, etc etc.
BIG Tanks- Floor Support!
มุมมอง 1.7Kปีที่แล้ว
Showing the floor support for my 300G tank. No sag here. Tank has been running for 4 years now and hopefully many more to come!
The 300 had to be drained!
มุมมอง 1.9Kปีที่แล้ว
Had to replace the silicone on the front panel. This will be the last Marineland tank I will ever buy for many reasons. Substrate change back to black sand! Had white aragonite sand in for a few months and never loved the look….back to black!
Plywood Aquarium- Finishing Process

Just a quick time lapse video showing some of the steps in this build process. Coming out nicely, more to come!

NEW 750 Gallon Dream Aquarium Build!
มุมมอง 1.9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
#Aquarium # Plywood #Fish #DIY Join me on my journey as I build my dream tank, a 750 gallon plywood aquarium! This will be my first plywood build, after extensive research it is now time to take the plunge. The aquarium will measure 96”L x 48”W x 40”T. It will have a front and side viewing panel, made of 3/4” Starfire glass. Undecided at this time as to what I will stock it with.
I'm Back, What's Coming!
มุมมอง 1.9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
After a 6 month hiatus I am back, couple updates on the 300 but more importantly....what's to come. Separate videos will follow on the massive plywood tank build in progress and new fish room! More to follow!
Massive Custom Tank Build!!
มุมมอง 1.2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Finally!!! The time has come to build a massive custom tank! As I am in the process of framing out and finishing my basement and I have finally reached the point where I start work on a custom in the wall tank! Since the tank will be an in the wall, I decided to go with a plywood build. I have been intrigued with large plywood aquarium builds and this is the perfect opportunity to build a fully...
New Tanks Coming! Fish Room Update!
มุมมอง 1.6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Exciting things coming this week! I will be taking a trip to the LFS to pick up some new big tanks as we finish off the basement! Tanks have been very difficult to come by in my area, seems to be a shortage of just about everything with the pandemic. It seems to be almost impossible to get larger tanks right now, especially reef ready tanks like I prefer. Luckily my LFS was able to get a 150 De...

A Must Have Piece of Equipment Everyone Should Try!
Just got a hold of your content and im going to need you to make another comeback. You got some of the nicest fish and set ups ive seen plus
@@Whyzer00 thanks! I will be making some new updated videos as many have asked me to do the same. Life got in the way so I will certainly make a comeback and put out a video this week for sure
Can you list the fish that you have?
thanks great explanantion
Thank you for being one of the best on TH-cam that has both fresh and salt water tanks! I am putting all of my eggs into one basket in terms of having one big built in tank in my next home instead of having 4 medium sized tanks for multiple reasons. I am torn between salt and fresh water as I have two of both now. If you could only have one tank long term. In your experience would you choose to have a fresh water 300 gallon tank or a FOWLR salt water 300 gallon tank? Thanks!
@@jaxonallredmusic thank you very much. That is a very tough question to answer and of course I’m going to say it is all a matter of personal preference. For me, I have always had both fresh and saltwater tanks because I could never make up my mind which I liked better. The colors and diversity of the saltwater world is incredible, but the saltwater does have some drawbacks. One of the biggest drawbacks for for me with salt water is salt creek all over the place, and being able to control algae effectively and efficiently. At the moment, I am actually just running freshwater tanks as I broke down my 210 salt about a month ago due to the frustration with the above issues I had mentioned. I wanted to do a complete re-scape anyways so I’m sure I will probably end up putting saltwater back into this tank , and set it up again with all new rock, etc.
@@Jetblink619Thank you for the quick response I really appreciate it! I understand what you’re saying as salt water is so amazing but fresh water is just so much easier to maintain and keep looking good. And as this will be a centerpiece in the home I always want it to look clean. So I think that I will go with fresh water as hard as it is to give up salt. Thank you again!
This is a sweet setup!
Question …The baking soda doesn’t kill the beneficial bacteria?
Looking awesome! Any update videos coming? Would love to see the mechanical side of it
@@JMCichlids I will try to get a new video out in the next few days
What is the biggest reason not to use a flowmaker or water pump in the K1 section of your sump?
Love this! I’m in the uk, might try find something!
Please make a tutorial video so we can make ourselves.
What sand do used? I am looking for some black sand.
@@1234Sevek Black Diamond Blasting sand

Mann😮 amazing. I'm super new to the tank filtration scene and struggling with a 20g with a young aquatic turtle, but seeing this boy I tell if I had that enginuity💯🔥👑
Fantastic work!!! Great job
Waw work very nice Appreciated sharing this information Well done sir 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
So beautiful ❤️
Whats that box in between the sump and the algae scrubber?
Excellent!!
Great looking fish collection.. very colorful

My favorite set-up ❤
Wow❤
did you build the tank stand?
@@yellowbridgesoftware yes
Do you have a link for the return pump?
Dude great job man. new the the channel watched the vid where you where leak testing the tank then jumped to the end. gonna say you one hell of a job on the basement and tank! I have a small basement that I want to do the same, but with salt water fish.
What silicon did you use cause I just bought a marine Land 300 and I got a reseal the whole Aquarium
Do most Ciclids eat plants? I rarely see any in most tanks.
Question for you. Do you have any of the blue lights from that website or just 3 of the white 30watt 12k?
@@dakaraiallen1325 just the three 30W 12k
Grab yourself a couple of long air stones that fit across the sump, add them in instead of the disc air stones and place one at each end of this section. This will give a better overall circular flow and keep all the media moving including the corners.
The background music is unnecessary it just adds noise.
Do have the link for the lights?

@@Jetblink619 thanks always washing your videos can’t wait for a update on the 700
What is the brand and type of sand that you have?
What size air pump are you using for your K-1 and how much K-1 do you have in there?
What do you feed them?
Looks like they don't make these lights anymore? Link didn't work😢
Awesome video. As a lifelong carpenter one piece of advice for anyone wanting to build something like this...a wet rag wiping off excess glue saves a lot of time with a chisel later.
bro its too much effort really
Sir why used two glass in every partition to add water from top side if I use one glass then water can also move to next part. I mean 1st glass has 2 inch gap from bottom and 2nd down 2 inch from top then water can go zig zag plz tell me reason to use 2 glass before every partition. Very beautiful cichlid
To make the water absorb more oxygen. Its like a waterfall effect
@@thinhtran3424 ok
what size is the tank/sump and glass panels insideof it??
Do i need a floor support if i want to have a 45 gallons tank on the 2nd floor ?
No
Nice rainbow fish community tank ....scarlets and some turquoise also. There's some beautiful rainbow's setup in Jarvis tank which you can mimic. Did you remove those marine pure blocks from your sump and what are you feeding your discus...heart mix foods?
Tank size in feet
6ft long, 3ft front to back, 28” tall
Glass is so expensive
More of this content please! Did you make a vid of how you did this custom build? Would love to see your process!
Amazing build, bro!! Do you make custom build tanks for clients also? I would pay good money for this exact set up in my house!
nice set up
Pls tell me which color subtrate is best for malawi cichleds
It’s all personal preference
Great set up only thing I'm unsure of it looks like the fresh water from the ro looking filter is going straight into the same chamber as the basement waste drain ? @jetblink619
Please Let me know what should be the correct WRGB settings of light to get the best colours out of my African Cichlid??
It is personal preference and all lights that are full spectrum adjustable are different. I would suggest adjusting it to your liking. The red light tones will make the yellow/orange/red in the fish pop. The actinic…or blue tones will make blues be more vibrant
@@Jetblink619 Thank You so Much
I want to make a sump with 3 or 4 spaces, but do the baffles where the water goes over be lower after every chamber or is the same height ok?
Each chamber is slightly lower
@@Jetblink619 tnx!
