I totally agree with Nancy. These slight variations to her current style highlight her natural beauty. So many of us default to a Bob style as an “Oh well…” I also agree that the low lights are not coloring her hair. It’s like the hair cut tweaks: it’s simply putting focus on the beauty of her hair color. No maintenance is required. And it will help with the “hold factor” as she styles her hair. I love your videos, Justin!!
Ok, older lady with dark brown hair and grey hair. Lots of grey. I am starting school and am hoping to get a more youthful look. I don’t have the time or money to do massive work. All advice welcome! I don’t have any family to ask!⭕️❌❤️
I think Andrea would look more youthful and very pretty with the low lights and staying with more of the pixie look as opposed to the Bob. However, it is up to her and what makes her feel beautiful.
Justin please do a video on how to do lowlights on grey hair - what to tell stylist about the actual color (are they brown, black, dark grey..)? and placement of the lowlights etc…. Thanks!
This is amazing. She looks so much more youthful with the photoshopping you did to her hair. I love seeing how small changes make such a huge difference. I love the shorter look with low lights the most.
With the suggestions he gave her, the shorter style with highlights will look more lovely, younger. Another point, (this is a suggestion), she should work on her eyebrows. making them thinner will have the effect of "opening up more" this part of the face, the look.
I have been fortunate to find you on my IPad, you speak so clearly about a woman’s issues, but in a simple and precise way, I wish I could all your tutorials , I learn things I never thought of , and would love to have my hair done by someone who truly cares and helps me understand the best way to wear and change with the times, or the thinness of my aging hair. Thank-You for the common sense and year’s of experience you share.
Yes, Justin! Big thumbs up on the longer bob and low lights. More youthful and so many styling options. But I am biased. I am 64 and wore my hair short for years. Now almost at my above shoulder, no bang, all one length, blunt bob goal and embracing my natural wave (which I used to fight). Easy no fuss style, just twist and air dry, add a little product to emphasize wave. Options include tuck one or both sides or pull back off my face into a messy bun which gives illusion of short hair or blow straight. Not only am I enjoying it, getting compliments too! I think Audrea will find freedom with the long bob. Such a flexible length.
I too am 64 and I find that a longer Bob is so much softer and flattering as you get older. I am also growing my short cut out, can't wait to get back to my flattering shoulder-length blond hair. Low lights look absolutely amazing on grey hair!😁👍
Music lover 👌Lovely...looks soft because of the beautiful waves. You got it right. Isn't it weird how we fight our natural selves, and end up loving what we hated. Youth is wasted on the young..:) haha
I’ve been telling my mom (Audrea) that she should let her hair grow and wear a longer style because she’s so beautiful with long hair (and with short hair of course), but thank you so very much for showing her the best way to do it so she can still feel beautiful through the process. 🖤
She DOES have beautiful hair! I like the bob that Justin did on her, as well as the low lights. I have salt-and-pepper hair and I need a little color around my face.
It's fun watching the magic that you can do with someone's photos. I like the overall advice you gave to her but... I think it would be more flattering to shorten her face by taking a half an inch to an inch off the length. I love the low light idea.
She would look fantastic with longer hair. That bob makes her head look too big for her body. But long hair covering the dark place on her cheek would be amazing. With or without color. Plus her hair is thick and healthy. The opposite of mine.
Well, 11 months later...I love the shorter look! I think on many of us with gravity doing its thing, a bob can often bring everything in the face downward. I prefer the shorter style for most women over whatever age when this downward slope occurs. Also, often as we age, our hair thins and we have less bob to bob! Shorter hair if cut and styled well, can add the look of thickness in places. You illustrate this so often, but I find it so true in my own hair. Her face is the same in all the pictures, but to me, with shorter hair, she looks happy and fun. Thanks for you and your sound advice, Justin...
I don't know how difficult it is to do the photo alterations, but I would enjoy seeing a couple different curveballs that are completely different from what is asked for. ... color, length, shape. Sometimes seeing something different shows us something we didn't even know we wanted! Plus, it's fun to see dramatic changes on someone else 🙂
I totally hear you! It is pretty difficult doing the Photoshop, simply because I have to find the exact style I wanna show, as well as the right color, as well as on a person who’s looking in the same direction as our models and that the lighting is similar. There’s a lot of factors for sure. With that said I try to show things that fit the emails that the submission has, but I do agree showing more crazy styles would be fun!
This is such a helpful video! What a great tip, growing out the top layers and trimming the sides & back. It makes it look like a style instead of looking like you’re growing out a pixie!
Thanks for a video that shows what a growout process can look like, since that phase is so often dreaded. I'm going to applaud Audrea for embracing her grey. The low-lights do look good and an unseen growout process is ideal if she should chose that option. Fortunatly for Audrea, she can stick with the shorter (I think it looks good tucked behind her ear) or continue to let it grow into a bob.
Hi Justin. thanks so much! I really like the behind the ear look, it really makes a big difference and doesnt look like I am growing my hair out. I will definitely put your suggestions to use... (maybe not the lowlight one, but maybe). thank you everyone for the very nice comments.... and yes, Justin, you pronounced it correctly....that doesnt happen often :) Thanks again
Wow! After seeing the cut with the hair behind her ear I just had to comment! Audrey's (?) face looks so cute with that hairstyle! Very feminine and fun, but could also be very elegant in a black dress with pearls for example. So I guess you would say it has more possibilities or is more versatile. I like, no, love the lowlights! They appear to add depth giving the appearance of having more hair! I don't like the longer look. It might pull her face down and make her look older. Not sure if lowlights would change that. I would love to see if she follows your advice on this one!
Thank you so much Mary! I totally agree, I think Eileen to the side of the short cut with low lights as well! I really think that it makes a huge difference.
Thinking of letting my hair grow out.. your video was super interesting.. wish you lived close by... Thank you..🌻 I like the long Bob and the low lights..She looks great..Hope she feels as good as she looks!
OH OMG! Audrea has my current haircut & gray. I'm growing out from a pixie as well. Thank you Audrea for sending in your pictures. Thank you Justin for this video, I'm taking it to my hair stylist to watch. She is always open to suggestions. I like the trim shorter look with it tucked behind the ears. The longer style is very pretty as well, but the shorter one is my favorite. I'm going to see about lowlights as my hair is growing out.
A problem with urging people to grow longer bangs is that lots of us wear glasses and the redirect the long bangs in an unattractive way. For those of us with thin hair who wear glasses wearing shorter bangs is often the only practical solution.
I love the bob on Audria! I think it is youthful and compliments her face. As a woman of a certain age myself I have also quit coloring my hair and am embracing my natural silver and get so many more compliments on it now! She looks fantastic in her natural silver hair!
I do like Andrea a little better in the short hair behind her ears and with lowlights. The Bob may be a bit long and severe. My gray hair is pretty but lacking depth. I may have to do a onetime lowlight myself. The growing out process you describe is very interesting. I would love to see style solutions for thinning hair, receding hairlines and hair loss in patches, as this is an issue with some of us of a certain age or medical condition.
Love all your stuff 67 now... Been waist length and short. Super thick.. top to bottom. It's got its problems just like thin straight hair.. first one drying time !!!! Thank g00D Ness I live in Az.. Sharing you with my pals. Love LL
The longer bob gives Audrea a totally different look and I love it. Her face looks slimmer and more like a 50-year-old. And I'd say yes to the lowlights. The make the gray sparkle! And "it happened" could mean so many things. Did you win an award? Did you buy a houseboat/studio?
It amazes me what a good haircut can do. I didn't realize how beautiful this woman was until you started to fix her hair. She looks good in both long and short. I prefer short personaly. I would'nt bother with the low lights. Not enough change to be worth it. Thanks for a great video Justin. You are really inspiring
Her hair looks great with the lowlights and, like many others have said, the "tuck behind the ear" is really cute too. One suggestion I would make is that , whatever the length, Audrea could maybe style the bangs a bit more straight and "swept across" . It may be just a personal thing, but I always think wispy, light bangs that are wavy / fluffy look less stylish ! 🤷🏻
I think the combo of the longer bob with lowlights would look great and also be very versatile. She can still put it behind her ears but also do some beach waves if she was in the mood!
Both the Bob and the in-between grow out style you suggested are very flattering for her. She’s fortunate to look great with both styles. I’m a white hair purist (mostly because my hair grows out grey, not white and I’m jealous LOL) so I prefer that but I can understand your reasoning for low lights. She’s lovely and has a great shape for many lengths with the right style.
Ladies, do as Justin says. Justin, I went through the process described very recently. I grew out the top and have just had the nape trimmed and the sides slightly layered. I frequently style my hair behind my ears. It really lifted my features.
Personally love the look of the longer bob. Elegant and feminine! Goals myself. SO...Thank you, Justin, for this video... am in similiar boat, but am curly. :-( And now that my hair is healthy (olaplex & less freq washes etc...silk pillowcase, no heat) it is even Curlier!! It "jumps up" from tip of my nose to an inch over my eyebrows, so growing it out is going to take FOREVER. So this was a WONDERFUL video. I still feel slightly 1950s grandma ish... but all good. Am keeping nape trimmed up and sweeping sides behind my ears. This too shall pass.
New subscriber here. LOVED the video! So much helpful information. I'm 70 yrs old and had worn the same short and colored haircut for over 30 years and decided it was way past time for a change. I've let it all grow out for the last year, just cutting the back and now it's all the same length, just below my chin, aiming for a bob, but I hate it because it adds fullness and focus to my jowl line, the one place I don't want to emphasize. I promised myself that I would give the longer look one year, but for me, the longer hair just doesn't work. I would love to see Audrey with short hair again, with a lot more volume on top to emphasize her eyes instead of her neck. Just my opinion! Thanks for a great video.
I was so pleased that my stylist grew my hair out using the steps that you recommended. It started with a Covid forced grow out period and then I decided to continue. Just decided to go in reverse and start shortening it slowly. I think Audrea looks beautiful with the lowlights, her eyes stand out so much especially with the shorter length.
Justin! I love your suggestions. I like the longer bob, angled toward the face and shorter at the nape, plus the low lights are amazing. I can use this! She looks MUCH younger this way, and prettier. If I were to see her on the street with these changes, I would think she's younger than now, and it's a flattering look... although behind the ear is great too.... I still color my hair with low and high lights, but am working at letting it be more natural with a great cut, under my chin which has gotten more double with COVID. Ugghhh. I'm 66.
I love the lowlights! So much dimension with such a subtle change! I really really like the behind the ears style, but also like the bob too. And thanks for the 5 tips, they make so much sense. I guess in summary, I love the whole video, lol! You hit it out of the park with this one Justin. 😊
Applauding the lowlights!!! And the bob I think looks great. She could still tuck her hair behind her ear both sides, part hair off center and tuck one side....I think she would enjoy the possibilities of changing it up without having to cut to change.
I love the bob and I’m all for full color! I’ve always colored my hair for years. after going through chemo and losing all my hair, I am presently growing it out and it is almost totally white. It definitely makes me look older. I am 69 and with color I look so much younger. But that’s my preference. I would also recommend side swept bangs instead of the shorter ones.
I think she should do the bob with the low lights! I just recently found your channel and love it. I stopped coloring 2 years ago and have been growing out a pixie. My stylist followed your same guidelines and I never felt like I was in an in-between stage... I had a new cut and style every 8 weeks! Now I have the shoulder length bob.
To bob or not to bob: that is the question. 🤔 I love the idea of tucking her hair behind her ears! I am almost 59yo and not the smallest I’ve ever been. Even though my head looks great in short hair, I don’t know that the whole ‘ensemble’ looks good with short hair, and I think Audrea may be in a similar situation. So, my suggestion would be for her to grow out to the bob. Try it on for awhile. If she doesn’t like it, she can always get it cut!
the bob for Audrea that Justin envisions is fabulous! Classic, grey is beautiful and powerful, the lines do make her look younger. Best of both worlds! PS Lowlights are a beautiful addition and would not undo any of the other good things as you will still be rocking that grey! The contrast does add dimension, movement and texture - I would go for it!!
Lost all my hair a couple years ago. This year it has been slowly growing back. I’m in this exact stage in nape, sides and bangs. I definitely want hair to grow longer. I had light-medium brown hair with gray roots which I had colored every six weeks. When my hair grew back, the front and sides are gray and the rest black and my previously curly hair grew back straight!?? Weird. I’m going to make an appointment to trim nape and bangs and color. Your video is great! Thank you!
My grandson is 19 and lost all body hair a few years ago from alopecia areata following a diagnosis of Crohns. I wonder if his hair will ever grow back.
I’ve grown my hair from pixie to bob twice. The tucking hair behind the ears helps a lot or pinning it back to open up the face. I really like that she stopped coloring her hair. Her current color looks good.
I think u hit the nail on the head! Thank you for educating us & sharing your beautiful journey with us as well! You are sharing your beauty making & taking beauty everywhere you go! How amazing!
Thank you so much Audrea and Justin for this video! The whole thing was fascinating but I was really intrigued by the low lights part at the end. I had light brown hair until I lost it all due to chemotherapy, and what has now started to grow back is my mother's white hair with some of my light brown sprinkled in. However, when I got it cut for the first time, it really looks more like my mom's white hair. A real shocker, as it takes me a whole generation in one jump. I may be looking at another surgery and round of chemo in the very near future and so will lose it all again, but now I have a good idea of what it will look like when it grows back and am planning for a great-looking white or grey style. I have seen some beautiful examples and this information from your channel is indispensable. Much, much, much appreciated!!
Hi, I hope your surgery and chemo are a great success and not too hard to get through. I wanted to tell you that my hair is white in the front with more brown as you go back. Well, I did a big favor for a stranger who I met on a neighborhood app over a year ago. He was finishing up cosmetology school and he wanted to treat me to a fun hair day now that he has his salon set up at home. He used different shades of gray to make my browns more into dark grays, then added low lights in a mid gray color. That was with real hair dye, permanent. Then we tried an overall temporary violet tint in the rest of my white. The violet only “took” a little, so there was a light violet tinge. It is fading with each shampoo. But the lowlights will stay, just as Justin said, and I will likely grow them out for good without it being noticeable. But…. I like them so much that I might occasionally pay to have them retouched. My hair just looks better with shades of gray going to white than with the brown and white. If you still have your light brown when your hair comes back again, you may enjoy treating yourself to this kind of lowlight coloring. Best wishes!
Prayers for a complete recovery! You are a strong, beautiful woman and I know your hair will be so beautiful 😍 You hang on to that vision of yourself ❤
Read alot of the comments, I am still at a loss. I have hair that looks like hers, a tad longer, lost my job, and life happens so am letting it grow out by circumstances. But gotta say I am 74, hair is so thin, went from below shoulder to helmet cut. All the family just loves my hair (any way it is at the time) They are trying to be kind. I am to a point I have no ideal. Have no stylist. Not sure of what to do with it, just want someone to tell me what it needs. I am willing to shave my head or grow it out to the floor, For some reason I can't tell what looks good on me, but sure would like to get someone that understood. Sounds like you understand, but ......lots of stylist say at your age it must be short, sorry just crabbing, like that you seem to care. Dont lose that concern for hair.
Marina, sounds like you need a hug🥰. My hair is In crazy shape too. I lost my hair a couple years ago and it is growing back slowly. I’m in my 70’s and can’t budget $300 for color and cut. I made an appointment with Toni & Guy Academy (T&G hair school) in Dallas. $50 + tip. Like Audrey in video, I need nape and bangs trimmed, plus color. I’m sure it will turn out ok. The past couple years I have been wearing hats. Have every color 😆 Good luck with your hair choices
I don't know anything about cutting the hair - Justin is a magician! But I do think that one thing that can be done immediately to update is to straighten the ends of the hair rather than have them curve under. This applies to the bob part, but especially the bangs. When bangs are straighter, they look cool and current, and I think they need to be more asymmetrical which can be done just by straightening and applying a little spray to hold off to the side a bit showing a longer face axis. And just running a straightener down the sides to take out the curve would also make this cut seem way less dated.
I love the layered back look and lowlights in her hair with side swept bangs. This cut is pleasant at any age. You are a very caring stylist. I finally found a stylist in my area, they do a Japanese scalp cleanse with spa treatment, and it is amazing!!!
Thank you sooooo much for explaining the grow out process. Your explanation along with a real life photoshopped model is amazing. I’m so glad I found your channel. I love your cheery personality and content delivery. 👏🏻❤️😁
I like the longer Bob with the low lights. She probably should still tuck her hair behind her ears though. I've been doing the grow out to a Bob look. Its probably taken me 2 years but I finally have it about chin length. Listening to you helped me better understand the process. Great video.
The longer bob made her look younger, hands down. The low lights, why not? Looks fantastic. Anytime you can get movement, it’s a good thing. For her, I didn’t like her hair swept back behind her ears. I thought the angular length in front was the way to go for her. As women age they want to feel youthful and also, contrary to popular belief, long hair is easier to maintain. You can do so much with it. Since the “ pandemic “ I haven’t been to a salon. And because I am familiar with hair, I cut my own hair. Oddly enough, I’ve never been happier with my hair. It seems they always want to cut too much. About every 3 months I trim my hair just sweeping all my hair forward and bind with a rubber tie at my forehead. Comb hair out, and trim the ends. About every 6 months, I section out just around my crown, and slightly in front of my ears, and pull that hair forward, tie with rubber tie at forehead comb smooth and trim. If your hair is thicker, you may want to slice out your pieces “ that are pulled forward and trim, then follow that guide line and trim. I love my hair now. It’s way past my bra line now, and it looks beautiful. I can do so much with my hair now. I wash and style once a week. That’s it.
Loved this video. I love Audreys grey but also think the lowlights did add dimension. You answered a lot of questions I have had as I am the same age as Audrey and also have grown out my grey. I have wondered about lowlights. My hair is long (past my shoulders) and layered and I have a slight natural darker stripe in the front. I am so scared to do any sort of colour again but maybe after your advice I might try some lowlights. Especially if I don't have to get them done regularly.
The thing from her note that stuck with me was that she is only 54yoa. All these shorter cuts are definitely aging. I agree with both low lights and the longer angled bob. Before you read her note I probably thought she was in her 70s. No offense intended, just being honest here. All my best to Audra and whatever she decides. Cheers!
I have to say, I agree here. When I first saw her photo I thought she was in her mid-seventies. To me, bringing her hair in tighter around her face made her look masculine. And tucking the hair behind her ear was a really bad move. Our ears (and noses) are parts of our bodies that continue to grow throughout our lives, and Audrea’s ears are already large. They make her look older than she is. I’d cover them. One thing I would like to mention is that, in my opinion, cutting the hair at the nape really short is very unflattering to most older women, especially those developing a “dowager’s hump” as Audrea appears to be doing. The view from the back is extremely masculine with a wide neck and high shoulders. Many ladies who gain some weight have this kind of posture as they get older, and, once again in my opinion, this cut is very unflattering. I’d like to see her with longer hair, maybe a little bit wavy. The color looks great to me. Audrea seems like a very nice lady, and I hope she finds the cut that pleases her. My observations are not meant to be critical or mean in any way, just my honest thoughts as I would express them if she were my mother. Keep in mind, I am not in favor of a Bob Cut on anyone unless they are young, very slim, and have an extraordinarily beautiful face with strong bone structure, and no double chin. (Those are the women who model the Bob Cut in photos.) Otherwise, I just think it makes women look heavy and frumpy. Once again, just my personal opinion. Thanks, Justin. I love your videos. And the fact that you ask people for honest comments. If you think I’m way off, that’s fine.
Sometimes, or oftentimes, people also take a few years off their actual age because it makes them feel better- same as a new hairstyle does. So maybe that's what's going on here. Nobody needs someone else pointing this out. But I don't know. Best to be quiet.
This is what I have been searching for! I am currently growing my hair out from a very short pixie. Which I have done in the past. I get bored and will change my hair more often than most. I never have enjoyed the growing out process. I have always said that I would stop coloring my hair once I had enough gray to not look tired. So, I have salt and pepper! I can't stand my hair falling into my eyes or over my brows. I will be using the suggestions you gave for my grow out. Thank you!
Thank you Justin for your suggestions in this video and thank you Audrea for sending in your photo. I like both on you, the short style behind your ears or the bob. I also love the effects of the lowlights!
I like the bob. I am at the same place with my hair right now so these suggestions were helpful! The low lights were a subtle change that I liked, but only if as you said, they didn't require constant upkeep!
I love the bob with low lights, she looks about 20 years younger. You've persuaded me to keep growing the bob, I'm nearly there. The longer it's grown the easier it becomes to manage. Thanks for helping me not go short again.
My concern with just below the ears would be the extra with that it would add to her face. It’s inevitable at that length unless there’s a lot of volume on top.
I like the bob. But I think I like it shorter better. It looks more youthful. But definitely do what makes you feel better. That's definitely the key ☺️
I have very long hair and have been considering cutting it into a bob. I would probably want it off my face rather than coming forward. I think your model in this video would probably like her hair that way too. Loved the lessons!
I totally hear you! In real life the low lights add a surprising amount of richness to people skin tone. It’s a subtle shift that creates a more massive change then you can really see in the photos. Definitely not necessary but fun for someone who wants to change without being forced into a bunch of upkeep.
I am struggling with the grow out so thank you for all the suggestions. The idea to work through the growing stage with style is perfect. I have always thought my face was round, but realize it is more square, having watched you work with Audrea The way my hair looks currently gives me a triangle shape, clearly not very flattering. I would like to send a couple of your videos to my hair stylist, but perhaps it would be best to ask if she would look at them. I have never learned to use a curling iron, but perhaps it is high time I did. However, I have gone back to using Velcro rollers, though not sure if that is perhaps too hard on my hair???? I have always wanted low maintenance, but I am retired now and willing to work more on styling. I am over 70 but still want to look and feel youthful. That takes work. 🇨🇦😊I am game!
OK, who thinks they know what my secret is that I talked about at the end of the video? I’d love to hear your guesses!
A baby?
Could it be a baby??
Your Office / Location
You're announcing your itinerary for the hair tour and want to invite me to a front row seat? Lunch? Dinner?
Nancy I like your guests.
I like her hair shorter and adding low lights gives her hair dimension. It's very subtle but makes a difference in her skin tone. Great suggestions! 👍
Thank you! I’m glad you like that. I totally agree, the low lights are settled but huge shift.
I totally agree with Nancy. These slight variations to her current style highlight her natural beauty. So many of us default to a Bob style as an “Oh well…”
I also agree that the low lights are not coloring her hair. It’s like the hair cut tweaks: it’s simply putting focus on the beauty of her hair color. No maintenance is required. And it will help with the “hold factor” as she styles her hair.
I love your videos, Justin!!
And the shorter style with low lights keeps some length in her neck area which is lost with the longer style. ♥️
Definitely love the shorter hairstyle with low lights...really really cute and flattering tucked behind the ear!
Justin please do a video on how to do lowlights on grey hair - what to tell stylist about the actual color (are they brown, black, dark grey..)? and placement of the lowlights etc…. Thanks!
"glow while you grow" made me smile... lovely i like both the longer bob and the recut of her grow out stage, nice job...good luck Audrea
This is amazing. She looks so much more youthful with the photoshopping you did to her hair. I love seeing how small changes make such a huge difference. I love the shorter look with low lights the most.
I like the shorter look with lowlights too!
Me too!
Same here 😊🇬🇧
Yes, Justin!
You name sound like you love music a lot. Me too I love music so much I like to listen to it old school and R&b. What kind of music did you like?
wish I could see a picture of yours!
Music lover 👌Lovely...looks soft because of the beautiful waves. You got it right. Isn't it weird how we fight our natural selves, and end up loving what we hated. Youth is wasted on the young..:) haha
@@Christina-sf4py Ha! That is for sure. Like the saying goes “if we only knew then what we know now”. Thank you for the sweet compliment!
Love the longer bob & low lights. Saves the neck getting cold in the winter too. Brilliant.
Agreed!!! You have a Beautiful Mom!
Your mom is beautiful and with Justin’s illustrations on how to modify…helped me!
I agree..to much talking and not enought showing. Come on Justin
Personally, I don't think the bob does anything for her. Would have loved to see some shorter styles, or a "long pixie" & a Pixie cut.
Agree 100%!!
@@judyivie4181 aw--- e z on this sweetie 🥰
Definitely she should go longer bob and love the low light idea. Very pretty end result!
Ohhh her hair is such a pretty silver! I vote for a bob WITH low lights! It would look incredible!!
You're pure genius. She looks fantastic with your improvements!! Great job.
Thanks for your 5 step process, Justin. It really helps to understand the right way to go about growing out hair!
You’re so welcome! I’m glad I could help.
I like the longer style very much! I take always big inspiration of your videos. Thank you so much Justin.
Hi Justin. thanks so much!
Lovely to get your feedback Audrea ☺️
Love the low lights idea, and I loved the shorter style. Add some texture cream and you are on your way to a more youthful look.
Yes. I liked her hair behind her ears and the lowlights, too.
I like the longer bob on Audra..can you do a good bob with wavy, courser 75 year old hair.??
A problem with urging people to grow longer bangs is that lots of us wear glasses and the redirect the long bangs in an unattractive way. For those of us with thin hair who wear glasses wearing shorter bangs is often the only practical solution.
Wow! She looks younger with the longer bob. She also looks great with it behind her ears. Love the natural color of her hair too.
She looks wonderful in the Bob. The low lights sound like a brilliant idea. Now I'm inspired to get some dark blonde low lights to warm up my silver.
Wow, the longer bob is very youthful on Audrey and classic!
I really think the longer bob with lowlights is the way to go for her! Great video Justin!
The low lights are a brilliant idea! I've never heard of low lights. I'll be discussing this with my hair stylist. Thankyou so very much.
The bob and low lites look amazing! Thank you for the 5 step grow out process!
Love the low lights! Didn't care for the bob, but think low lights might have changed my mind. Liked her off the face short cut.
Love the Bob! It takes 10 years off her look! Low lights are a great idea!
Thank you! I’m so glad you like them
Both the Bob and the in-between grow out style you suggested are very flattering for her.
Love the low lights and your suggested-length bob.
Personally love the look of the longer bob. Elegant and feminine! Goals myself. SO...Thank you, Justin, for this video... am in similiar boat, but am curly. :-(
And now that my hair is healthy (olaplex & less freq washes etc...silk pillowcase, no heat) it is even Curlier!!
Olaplex is a god send. I am a hair product junkie, something that really works!!! My hair has never been healthier.
Shorter is better...long bob weights her face down. I thought she looked older.
It started with a
Covid forced grow out period and then I decided to continue.
No to the bob. Yes to low lights. Yes to reshaping current look. Sir you have very helpful, creative suggestions. Now I am subscribed. Thank you.
Applauding the lowlights!!! And the bob I think looks great. She could still tuck her hair behind her ear both sides, part hair off center and tuck one side....I think she would enjoy the possibilities of changing it up without having to cut to change.
I totally agree! Well said.
low lights on grey hair...the way you do it..a winner every time!
“Glow while you grow!” I love it❣️😁
Love the longer hair on her, but that shirt bob looked amazing too! Wow!!
The Bob cut looks fantastic! Really helpful tips on making the grow out progress more bearable. 🐻
The cut you created for her was very flattering. The bob I would have to see. The low lights look nice and real.
The low lights look great! I like a shorter bob and tucked behind the ears. Very pretty!! 😍❤️
The bob looks good and maybe a dark blonde or light brown color, time to renew and refresh! Thanks for your videos!
Good solution.
the bob for Audrea that Justin envisions is fabulous! Classic, grey is beautiful and powerful, the lines do make her look younger. Best of both worlds!
PS
Lowlights are a beautiful addition and would not undo any of the other good things as you will still be rocking that grey!
My quick reaction is that the shorter cut tucked behind her ear makes her look more friendly and fun. This was interesting; thank you.
Prayers for your healing and peace 🙏🏻
Justin you crack me up! Thanks ! I think the long bob makes her more youthful. And of course I agree with the low lights.
My gosh. I am also lost in how to wear my hair at 77 and natural silver blonde color. I am afraid to go short.
Love his comments and funny insights and beautiful backdrops.
Great comment, I think you’re right on those ideas
I love the layered back look and lowlights in her hair with side swept bangs. This cut is pleasant at any age.
You are a very caring stylist.
I finally found a stylist in my area, they do a Japanese scalp cleanse with spa treatment, and it is amazing!!!
Definitely the Bob for her. She looks much younger. I love it!
I liked best the tuck behind the ear, stopping the grow-out at just below the chin. Thanks for all the ideas!
Thank you sooooo much for explaining the grow out process. Your explanation along with a real life photoshopped model is amazing. I’m so glad I found your channel. I love your cheery personality and content delivery. 👏🏻❤️😁
Justin you are brilliant! I love the mantra "Glow while you grow",
I like the longer Bob with the low lights. She probably should still tuck her hair behind her ears though. I've been doing the grow out to a Bob look. Its probably taken me 2 years but I finally have it about chin length. Listening to you helped me better understand the process. Great video.
Love your ideas. Low lights -yes. It helps to make her look younger.
Love the low lights and the longer bob. Stylish and knocks at least 10 years off. Absolutely gorgeous!
I think she would look fantastic with the Bob AND low lights! Gorgeous!
That’s it.
,
Love the low-lights! It adds a lot of sophistication.
I have added low lights to my gray hair and love it. It's so natural and very little upkeep.
Me too..70ish
Love the long Bob. Excellent job.
I love the bob with low lights, she looks about 20 years younger. You've persuaded me to keep growing the bob, I'm nearly there. The longer it's grown the easier it becomes to manage. Thanks for helping me not go short again.
I don't like the long bob on her, but I think a shorter one to just below the ears would look better. I like the low lights too.
My concern with just below the ears would be the extra with that it would add to her face. It’s inevitable at that length unless there’s a lot of volume on top.
Love the bob on her, more youthful! But in the meantime the little changes you suggest are HUGE! Great vid!
Low lights look good, but why bother. Gray looks great.
I totally hear you! In real life the low lights add a surprising amount of richness to people skin tone. It’s a subtle shift that creates a more massive change then you can really see in the photos. Definitely not necessary but fun for someone who wants to change without being forced into a bunch of upkeep.
Low lights are a great idea for some depth👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yes, I’m all for the low lights gave her so much more depth and dimension
Love the low lights. I went to my natural color and growing my hair out. Good advice. Thanks Justin!
Love the lowlights! I have also been doing them to my clients who have gone all white and they love them!
Bob and low lights, amazing! and you gave me an idea also for me, thank you.
