So many negative comments about this guy! So he's quiet, thoughtful. He listened to everything they said and asked questions. I'm sure he's brilliant at what he does. He probably had some bad experiences at boarding school, though. From what people say, they can be tough places for sensitive children.

What a thoughtful, well presented & balanced bloke, and as another commenter put 'quietly amusing', I love his perfect gentle language, obvious intellect & style. I wonder if he has a partner as I have a suggestion (not for myself) ....

In watching this again, I rather like the potential homeowner. he's seems like a lovely person, in terms of being calm, soft spoken, reasoned, faintly amusing. he seems honest and forthright. Kirstie is rather pushy and judgmental.

great decision, a bit of a pain to watch the 2 agents especially Phil projecting how the buyer is being difficult, while obviously making such an investment needs careful consideration.

I would never work with them . They are aggressive and arrogant in my opinion . I studied housing for 5 years looked at about 50 homes I'll take as long as I damm near need too and I will walk from any agent who are liars for the most part
U are responsible for the sewage line from house to street is an 8,000 fix and not one of these agents mentioned thst or getting s sewage line scope
A new roof needs done about every 20 years is 15 to 20,000 can u write that check I cannot lets see u do it
Water breaks ,mold , structural damage
      New windows
      Termites
      Snakes in the house
Hot water tank a couple thousand
      Ne w furnace about 8,000
      Should I go on
If these 2 talked to me like that let alone sat that close to me at a restaurant which I would never allow I'd just turn and walk away
300,000 dollar home in the States I'd pay 150,000 in interest make it make sense ?????????
      Property taxes
      Home owners insurance
Utilities are a lot more on big homes so u would want the smallest homes possible
This is a tv show and a bullshit one at that I just am sick to my stomach over how they talk and I'm so glad I decided to stay renting and never be house poor with a money pit
I did hundreds of hours of research in books and online forums of the real truth about home ownership . These agents are snakes !!!!!

We bought our house 2 1/2 years ago that was run down and dirty and had--yuck--carpet in the master bathroom. I wouldn't even move in until we redid all of the flooring.
It took me 6 hours just to scrub the front entry hallway. We've done a lot of work on the house and it's looking like new.

I see what you mean, but he probably wanted a bigger combined living-cum-dining lounge, not the reception along with the separate dining-with-kitchen formula that house offered him, neither was he willing to take up work to knock down walls and combine the space.

Doesn't this same couple do love it or list it UK? She has the let's tear down that wall energy and he's the grown-up in the room. I'm afraid their client has neuroses over and above haggling. He said something under his breath about visiting his sister from his "truly horrid" school. Poor thing.

The same for the UK version but they’re not a couple. And he actually said “boarding school” or at least that’s what I heard. He doesn’t seem neurotic but rather lacking the ability to see past a house’s decor.

Are these people crazy? How is he going to find time to do all these renovations as a psychology, Not to mention the cost. He could hire a contractor but, here in NY they charge and arm and a leg. Plus they take more time than they said to finish the job. They keep on showing him fixer uppers. He wants a property ready to move in.

  • @valynteena

Aside location, the house in mu opinion would have been the best option. It had it's own front door and personal garden although it needed major tidying up, where as the garden for the maissonate was shared. Secondly, it was cheaper which will leave enough money for the updates. For location, the one he chose was a good one. It didn't need as much work as the house, being on two floors made it feel more like a house than a flat as well. Personally, i will always choose a house over a flat except the flat is below budget or cheaper and is turnkey.

Reminded me of all the times neurotic people have said "oh I'm very easy going I'm not fussy" and they are absolutely totally that. Total denial and self-delusion, I think more neurotic people go into psychology because they're trying to figure themselves out or want to control others instead of dealing with themselves.
