    I have been in the US for over 50 years and I would say pronunciation is the hardest part to achieve when learning the English language or any other language for that matter but like you said shadowing is key. I can speak English, Spanish fluently and now I am learning Korean and yes again pronunciation is the hardest to achieve. That's my Trilingual Life!

      "R" is hard between languages. I am a native English speaker. I have managed the French "r", but not yet Spanish "r". And I know foreigners have trouble with English "r."

    • @stevenhs8821
      @stevenhs8821 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      English vowels very complicated (and I am American). They are natural for me, but make no sense at all from spelling. Intonation also. My father was Chinese. He could never pronounce "executive" correctly even after living in the USA for 50 years. Not only are vowels complicated, but then there are so many different dialects. I have difficulty with various English accents. I travelled to West Virginia, USA, only 200 miles from my hometown and I could barely understand the local speech. There people pronounced "island" as "allen" the boy/man's name. I was totally confuse. If 200 miles can make that much of a difference, what hope does a foreign language speaker have?

      I love your attitude! Welcome to the USA. We appreciate your desire to assimilate into the American Culture. You have come here during a chaotic time. The USA is under attack. Our Culture, our way of life is being undermined by enemies. Please don't allow yourself to become one of the brainwashed minions of our Enemies. Freedom, Self responsibility, liberty are the foundation of the American experience. Your ideals, morals, character are more important than anything else, even the propaganda that's trying to convince you otherwise. May you create a wonderful life here, may you find great happiness here. Welcome to America!!! Here, you can do just about anything you desire, doing no harm to anyone, you can be what ever you choose to be. Good luck, and keep on enhancing your life by striving toward excellence!
