Does it not get too windy where you live? I only throw 420-440 as an absolute max but I live right off a lake and it's basically windy every day with regular speed around 5-10 and gusts up to 15-20mph. I feel like discs this stable(or even a bit more honestly) are needed and I tend to bag more of them than any other kind of disc. Headwinds would just be really hard to deal with without them. Discs like Graces, wraiths, and similar may go farther for me on a day to day basis in calm conditions, but in almost any kind of cross or headwind, cloud breakers and destroyers and similar will generally deal with the wind much better and maintain dependability which keeps you from getting into trouble and they still go pretty dang far even if it's not my open field max distance. I'd also say with the S line cloud breaker DD3's of old, primarily the first and second, as well as the s-line versions of this different, modern "cloud breaker" mold, they do break in and become very viable go-to distance drivers even for people throwing only 340-360 I feel like. And once broken in they stay sweet for a very long time. I still bag an OG cloud breaker and a cloud breaker 2 that have been in my bag since they released. The OG is my max distance flippy guy and the cloud breaker 2 will stand up but still has good life in it and can handle a bit of wind predictably. My wraiths I tend to have to cycle out of the bag after a while because they just get too flippy and unpredictable in anything over like 7mph wind. I just got one of these new CB's today and I have the flu unfortunately or I'd give you my thoughts on it vs. the other cloud breakers.Sorry for the rant. I'm just a disc nerd.
I'll see your slightly breezy 5-1mph and raise you Wellington NZ... Average wind speed 22kph (13.67mph) 22 days a year on average are 46mph+ In October we average 19 days with 23+mph on our worst windy year... 233 days recorded Gale force (over 38.4mph) Highest wind gust recorded (on a hill about 5 mile from my house)... 154mph There is a term for people in wellington using an umbrella... Tourists. So..... I have a disc.... That I can throw in 20mph headwinds... on Anhyzer..... and it pulls out almost immediately to flat, and finishes left (RHBH). Its an RPM Kotare 1R (Koh-Tah-Reh) affectionately known as 'Mr Broken' (or Ken to his friends). This disc is not Beef... This disc is the entire ranch. (OK I'm not a 400ft daily yeeter, but I get my Beast (And Opto Diamond) 330ft .. The Kotare.. maybe 200 on a calm day. I'm not sure anyone that I have handed it to has managed to get it to turn at all.
I have such a hard time with anhyzer shots. I’m more of a natural hyzer guy so those super overstable drivers never was much useful to me. They are fun though!
Ever tried the Innova Orc? My go to distance driver, it’s a 10|4|-1|3. Loved the video, gotta get out to Caesar Ford soon
Haven’t tried one yet! I’ll put it on the list to try lol!
