    Great video-to help the stain getting onto the color that you have already stained ,I hold a piece of sheet metal the length of my board in the groove so the stain does not touch the other board!

    Great job on these flags! I make a lot of flags however use 1.5 strips that I color offline then assemble. I have had issues with the white tint also and switched to 100% latex white paint. You can control the look by how long you leave it on before wiping. I like to leave it on for 60 seconds and then wipe for a whitewash look. Again, nice work.

    The stain you used in this video is no longer available from Lowe's (some stores still have old stock YMMV) They are now using a different tint-able stain base, also from Minwax, but if you give them the old codes, they can punch them up in their computer, and give you the correct color. Scarlet is 1789-B-20180927113713 Marshmallow is 1789-A-20180927114533 True Blue is 1789-A-20180927113504 Those colors are exclusive to Lowe's, Sherwin-Williams (the company that owns Minwax) isn't even authorized to use those color codes. Lowe's has different colors available now, but they're just not as good as the colors you used here, however, if you give them the tint codes, they will be able to pull them up. I use a slightly different gluing method. I have some of your templates and stars, and I lock in 2 corners like you did, but I like to put a drop of TiteBond III glue on the flag, then set the star into the template. This makes it a lot easier (at least for me) to prevent getting CA glue on my fingers, or the template. I'm a bit curious as to why you showed us the India ink, but then used spray paint.

    • @DwoodStudios
      @DwoodStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont see how its misleading. It is a solid piece of wood and made without a cnc as it says. I sell the templates and stars which are both laser cut. It makes it so that woodworkers that dont have a lot of tools can literally do flags by purchasinga template and having a router only. Alot cheaper and more DIY than a cnc
