I have a bit of a crazy story to go along with this video. If you watch it until the end, you'll hear me talk a little bit about my "irrational" fear of cougars, as I was kind of nervous filming in this forest. A few days ago, Jesse and I were hiking through this forest to scout out this filming location. On the way, we heard someone in the distance calling out desperately for their dog, Sadie. Just today, Sadie's owner posted on our village's local Facebook group that Sadie was still missing, and that they suspect she was taken by a cougar! 😭 They advised anyone walking along this trail and through this forest to watch for tracks. I am shook, and probably won't be returning to this forest anytime soon! Please send all of your love to both Sadie and her owner ❤
Oh no, I hope she's found. There's nothing worse than what I unfortunately KNOW they're going through. It's the worst kind of panic. My heart goes out to them. What a gorgeous backdrop you're filming in, though.

She had no connections, no social media, and not a very “dramatic”story…but her writing and raw honesty went on to touch MILLIONS and go one to be a number one best seller. This is very exciting to hear that your story is going to come out in print. When you do pre-sale of the memoir, I’ll be so ready to buy it! Books have been my favorite companion in every time in my life. When I was young, I wrote short stories. As I grew older, I tried a few times to write longer form works but fizzled out. I find it interesting that ChatGPT was a help to you. I’ve never tried it in my life. I’m a very old-school GenXer so any new fangled things kinda scare me. That blank triangular sign on the trail is ripe for a Jonas sticker. Nice job navigating that little slope going in, Jesse slipped there in one of his POV videos so it is treacherous. OMG, Jesse’s butt imprint on the forest floor. You filming in the woods was beautiful, but not worth the anxiety! I share your fear of mountain lions. There was talk of one being seen in the woods surrounding my childhood home 40+ years ago and even though I never saw it, I really got scared. I love being in the woods but the death by a stealthy big cat always crosses my mind. Thank you for including the BTS and the funny stuff. I can’t believe all you go through to get these videos put together for us. Thank you!

Thanks so much, Sherry! Didn't the forest turn out so pretty?! Jesse and I went for a hike a couple of days before I went back to set up my camera and film, to scout out the location. He had actually filmed a video there too, so he showed me the way... its the perfect little "stage" but there are too many wild animals in there for me to do it again 😂 I think I'm going to go down to the beach for the next video 👀 I so appreciate your encouragement!! 25:30 I did some research on the signage of the Kootenays and spent quite a bit of time (more than I'm comfortable confessing to) looking into all the different signs, and the differences between road signs, and park/forest signs. After consulting with some experts and Natural Resources employees they confirmed my suspicion. That triangular sign used to say "Sky." 😎

I asked my Animal Reiki group to send collective distance Reiki to everyone involved, I just felt so horrible about it!

Being told I ramble too much in this particular video made me so mad because this was the first video I took a few days to write a script and outline for, so that I stayed on track and DIDN'T ramble like I usually do 🤣 Dangit!! I won't be returning to these woods, that is CERTAIN. I'm actually in the process of setting up a little studio inside so that I don't have to go outside to film where the lions, tigers and bears live hahahaha.
I’m terrified of mountain lions! My husband took me on a trip for my 40th to Sedona in California. We went on a hike and while walking passed by a ranger who told us to “make noise” when turning blind corners. A couple had been attacked the week prior by a mountain lion. I wanted to turn back but I tried to act cool and we continued our hike. The most stressful two hours I could imagine followed. Will never do that again. Please be careful Brandy & Jesse!
NOOOOOOOO THAT IS MY NIGHTMARE. I am 10X more afraid of cougars than I am of bears or ANYTHING else! I grew up in Banff/Canmore and literally knew people IRL who got attacked and killed by cougars. NO. NO NO NO. I had this weird spidey sense that there was a cat in that forest and then after learning about the dog that supposedly got "taken" by a cougar nearby I was like ahhh fuck. I'm NEVER going in those woods again. The worst part is that any encounter would have been caught on camera, and just. no no no no no nonooooooooooo!
