He consistently proves hes a good person through his actions (constantly helping out others with money, giving legal advice, defending people who others are scared to defend, etc) but he says terrible shit from time to time on a long format show where you have to fill the space or risk dead air. I'm more concerned about actual horrible people like David Dobrik, Keemstar and James Charles. Not a comedian without a filter

You have to be complete at some point to break apart. He is no longer who he was, and it's because he was chasing $$$ instead of being genuine. It's all just a grift.
He seems like kind of a 'I get caught up in the heat of the moment' kinda guy, saying a lot of dumb things live on his show that maybe didn't get through in his videos.
He absolutely is that kind of guy. The problem is when he puts his foot in his mouth, he doesn’t apologize, he doubled down and belittles anyone who tries to hold him accountable. I don’t care that he makes mistakes sometimes, he’s human. I care that he refuses to apologize or be responsible for his actions.
I mean a majority of the time that's kind of the point. He likes the cum town type comedy where you just go overboard for the sake of going overboard. Like the bomb the NRA thing was just a funny thing to say, it got a reaction, he rolled it back as a joke, and then played with the concept where he purposely was letting Dan (his producer) cut him off with a "we'll be right back" message.
I left H3 when they started the podcast. Their comments were so ignorant, even stupid, I just couldn't listen to their bs. I've tried, but they weren't funny or interesting anymore.
@@theirishpotato6588 I loved the ghost stories bits from the first few podcasts, and then after the Justin Roiland and Alex Hirsch special I stopped watching.
His early videos relied heavily on editing and splicing in funny clips with comedic timing, something that is missing when he rambles on for 3 hours straight with no filter
Ethan considers himself "the next Howard Stern," and, in a way, he's right: they both made their careers through transgressive comedy and now spend every waking moment making sure no one else has the same opportunity they did.
This is so stupid. When has Ethan ever done anything like that? Insanely stupid take, please promise yourself you'll stop spouting shit with a source :)
As someone who has been following most of these creators since the beginning, one thing that people never mention is that the original n word comment by Ethan was in reference to Idubs video where he tries to "Take the power away from the word". His thinking at the time was that if you just say it enough as a joke it can stop being an insult. Something that is addressed on the PewDiePie bridge incident because he specifically used it as an insult this gets addressed about a minute before the clip you showed. Mind you both Idubs and Ethan are ashamed about using it back then, the only difference being that that Ethan regularly addresses it. Also it has been said multiple times that the meeting with Susan was about them asking for an option for monetizing mature content on TH-cam in the same way channels like comedy central and adult swim do, something which she basically waved away. The way it's edited here really makes it seem like the harassment policy was Ethan's idea despite Susan having met with dozens of creators at that time like moistcritical for example, the only difference is that Keemstar keeps bringing it up as a conspiracy. Who is as biased a source as it gets.
These are valid criticisms, do you feel that outdoes the other issues and critisms regarding this character? I think regardless of this issue, even if this is addressed, there's a lot of issue with Ethan and his character
@@krisstasko could you point to an example, mind you most fans me included agree he constantly shoots himself in the foot because he has a habit of constantly taking jokes too far. Sometimes it's hilarious like in the recent Howie Mandel episode where he made him squirm the entire interview.
@@nonfelem if you don't mind, I'd like to use the examples in this video. The ones that really stuck out to me was Ethan's insistance on the "Bottoming" joke and only apologizing on Twitter afterwards while on the show he kept telling anyone to criticize him to shut up. Similarly, him doing the Walmart shooting joke while _everyone_ around him told him not to finish it. To me it shows he wants to have his cake and eat it too, he wants this image of being inclusive and understanding while also being able to say whatever he wants like he could back when he was smaller regardless of it was funny or just offensive. I think by telling most of his original audience to leave, he lost the people who'd hold him accountable without trying to wholly cancel him. Now he only has an audience who knows him mostly from the podcast and wants blood for every mistake.
@@krisstasko I think what you are noticing is the big change in his audience which came right after frienemes. Since Trisha brought a mostly female and queer audience who are obviously not going to take a joke about gays as nicely as his audience beforehand. He's said himself that he just wants to be like Howard Stearns who is someone is someone who constantly gets into controversy in part because he's constantly just saying what comes to mind. You can see it in the Walmart joke where he's just teasing the audience and the crew over a dumb pun, the joke being how tame the actual joke is vs how messed up everyone assumed it would be. The obvious elephant in the room is the political leanings of the people who used to watch him vs now, this is something I noticed first hand growing up in a red part of the country. Some guests like Jordan Peterson and Keemstar coupled with his previous anty sjw videos attracted a ton of people who are not happy with his views nowadays. These people just assumed that because he's making fun of Zarna he must also be a frequent poster in /Tumblrinaction like them and over the past few years the conservative pole has moved from bush asking for tacos to tucker openly spreading white replacement theory meaning that a guy who is essentially a moderate is now seen as a liberal by concervatives. And because he is a moderate he is stuck between two opposing fan groups which both assume he's betraying his audience, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes I'll tell you that much.
incels who spend too much time online and not outside with no friends love keemstar for providing them with online personalities to hate to pass the time

I'm a big h3 fan, I've been following since the early days and now I watch every podcast episode. Still, I find it so annoying when Ethan gets called out for something and the next time he just says "F*CK OFF, UNSUBSCRIBE" while Dan laughs in the background. This is a guy that for the last 10 years his job has been calling out people on their bullshit, but when he makes a mistake that makes his audience uncomfortable he won't own up to it
He even tell his own fans that they're sensitive!!! I stopped watching him I have been watching h3 for 4 years. he made so many mistakes and then he say "sorry guys I will learn but also unsubscribe its up to you idgaf" reminds me of Shane Dawson when he said " I'm willing to lose everything and I'm not asking for forgiveness you can do whatever you want forgive me or not" Ethan needs to actually grow up he even talks about Trisha when he said he will never mention her name again. I disagree with your point that Ethan has tried to edit the past, He has said many times than he's embarrassed of it and will apologize for his shortcomings as many times as he needs to, including in a recent interview with Howie Mandel. I don't see going back and editing the old episodes as trying to hide anything, I would do the same, cut out the parts where I used the n word put still acknowledge that i said it which is what Ethan has done.

I think Ethan’s preference is to be dressed up like a toddler in Teddy Fresh and bottle fed by Hila, then she burps him and changes his nappy... with peace and love he just seems like that kind of guy, with peace and love ❤️
everyone mispeaks, has bad opinions, and makes bad mistakes at one point in their life. Love you Ethan, you stand up for whats right infront of everyone even after the mistakes youve made! That is true bravery

I would put forth that RedLetterMedia is the longest running and most successful TH-cam channel. They may not have multiple million subscribers, but they've never been in any sort of controversy, their content hasn't become cringe over the years (I am saying that H3 has indeed become a bit cringe in my opinion, but I still recognize that they are extremely successful and you gotta hand it to them for keeping it up), and somehow they're still doing the EXACT same thing they've been doing for years without a change in format, and it somehow still manages to be fresh, funny, and ultimately insightful. I've never seen a channel with that much success be able to stay the course so flawlessly. They've certainly got more integrity than any other TH-cam channel I know of.
@@AssHandler I guess that's technically a valid point. It is their main platform now though, and has been for many years. But it is true that they already had some notoriety before entering TH-cam.

I was an H3 fan for years. I bought H3 merch, I own several Teddy Fresh items, never missed an episode. But what happened recently just brought back Bill Burr interview vibes and I couldn’t do it anymore. For a while I’ve been getting annoyed with their content, that Ethan has been resting on his laurels rather than keeping it fresh. Don’t get me wrong, I love the chill hangouts with the crew as much as anyone, but it’s getting stale. The call-ins are always cringey, he’s so rude to everyone, and the yelling at/belittling his audience when they try to hold him accountable (Dan’s behavior, too) was just too much for me. Ethan can dish it but he can’t take it and I’m over his Rules for Thee but Not for Me attitude.
The whole point of his podcast is to talk about Ryan kavanough & shit on radical right movements. I get it, he hates it, but he’s LITERALLY MADE THAT into a constant conversation. I… just like yourself, was a huge fan up until 4 months ago when he started making callers feel like shit when they called in live. & making his crew all into “ yes man “ & basically scare them with his constant 💩 taking to the point of them not even having true character anymore.
@@missbelle_elle I can make a compilation of the h3 crew pushing back, getting annoyed, & disagreeing with Ethan. Dan especially tells Ethan to roll things back and even hila gets upset with Ethan on air. To call the h3 crew 'yes men' seems like a stretch
@@honeydew_dream Any time the crew pushes back, Ethan belittles them nonstop and makes them the butt of the joke until they just sort of slink back into the corner. It’s particularly egregious with Love and AB, though I’ve seen it with Zach, Ian - all of them except maybe Dan who is just as bad as Ethan. I know that they stick up for him, say he’s a good person (and I believe he has a good heart) he just doesn’t understand when enough is enough and that’s problematic. He can’t ever read the room and just stop.
@@unintentional_smile No, Dan or Ian usually just plays the censor tone with the censorship screen and everyone laughs which btw is great proof that the crew aren't yes men cause a fan literally made a censor button for the crew to cut off Ethan when he says things he probably shouldn't. I'm often confused by people's hate on him. He's a guy who is clearly self deprecating and defers to women when his opinions are irrelevant. The H3 viewership and more importantly, membership, have a much higher proportion of women than some of his detractors. That's an important indicator for me, that I'm in a place that isn't horribly toxic. Lastly, the core of H3 is goofs-you can't say that about the very serious tone of the channels of his detractors. Bad jokes? Sure. But they seem so minor in comparison to much bigger idiots like Ace Family.

Really loved the video!! I’ve been watching h3 since the end of 2020 (originally for frenemies, but stayed) I’m an adult and I have my own opinions and understand that not everyone is going to align with my views and be perfect in every instance. Leftist and socially conscious people really need to stop seeing everything in black and white. Ethan really fucks up sometimes and is the detriment to his own show. Rn OTR and h3tv are the exact same because they are both live and they don’t take callers anymore. Why? Because of Ethan’s homophobic remarks. I don’t believe he is homophobic, but what he said wasn’t okay and it’s important to see that. Absolutely cancelling the shit out of people, running to their sponsors etc, isn’t going to make anyone learn anything tho. I often disagree with him (and Dan re: the call in) and it’s frustrating to see him learning so slowly, but he does a lot of good as well. I barely know any other creators who are so adamant in their callouts of people like Rogan, Peterson and Shapiro. He is insanely passionate on his stance on gun reforms and abortion rights. Also he’s a funny entertaining guy who’s maybe not everyone’s cup of tea, but definitely mine.
A couple years ago I saw an episode of Ethan's podcast where he did a segment watching videos of people working minimum wage jobs get drinks thrown at them, tripping and falling and spilling food or drinks on themselves etc. and it just sickened me. To watch somebody who has this wholesome story they've told dozens of times about the desperate poverty he and Hila were in before their YT channel took off, not being able to afford a bell pepper or something because they were so broke, laughing at the expense of people who'll likely never see a hundredth of the wealth that he and Hila now enjoy filled me with so much resentment that I stopped paying attention to them and never looked back. I guess once you become wealthy enough to be sure that you'll _never_ be in those peoples' shoes again it gets really easy to enter a mindset where you're willing to make even more money laughing and sharing with the world some of the shittiest shifts those people have had to endure just to earn a relative pittance compared to just what that episode's sponsorship brings in, let alone the ad revenue. Since then it's only been unsavory things that come to light about the guy.
Ethan has said some really dumb things in his career, but to boil a person's identity down to "minimum wage worker" so someone who is now wealthy can't laugh at them is bafflingly dumb.
I still watch h3 i think hes really funny and promotes positivity. I tuink people over analyse him too much your time wouldnt probably be well spent eslewhere

The way the internet treats Ethan is so strange to me. I’ve seen people call him everything from dumb and unfunny, to more extreme things like a crook & a sociopath. But the honest reality imo, is; *he’s just an average guy*. some people seem to think he’s simultaneously a total idiot and a machiavellian mastermind all at the same time. it can’t be both lol. YES. We all remember old Ethan, right? This "Toilet trouble" and "The diaper disaster" bits sum it up really good. He was edgy so to say, he was offensive, i`m pretty sure he was also more conservative back then. Now he is trying to erase the past and convince his audience that he didn`t even know who JP was and how he got popular when he invited JP on the podcast. I`m pretty sure he knew, he just can`t accept his mistakes and wrongdoings. That was ALWAYS his problem and he hasn`t learned how to do it to this day. I mean...trash JP all you want, be a leftist if you changed your mind- people do that throughout life, just acknowledge it, be honest.
lmao, he has acknowledged it, multiple times. Jordan Peterson is and was a gateway to transphobic far right conservative bullshit. He just hid it well back in the day. H3 made his point he doesn't want to promote that, it's his own channel and his views are not conservative, or ever were, bucko. And that's that!
I watch Ethan here and then, but sometimes his "wokeness" doesn't seem sincere. It seems like he is just trying to appeal too the audience he gained. That same audience will turn there backs on him because he will never be "woke enough"
He just learned the words and tries to say and do what he thinks will make him popular but it’s all very shallow. The only thing that makes him bearable is when he has interesting people to talk to. When it’s just him and his employees it’s so boring.
Also..also... ALSO! Remember how Jordan Peterson made that foreshadowing tweet in response to Ethan bashing & ridiculing him online? "You will be held to higher and higher and soon impossible to maintain ethical standards by the very mob you currently wish to please. Then you will make a mistake, and they will devour you. With glee. Please take this warning seriously. I liked you." Ha!
Wait, didnt he make a career out of calling people out for their bad shit and want them to apologise.........then when he gets called out for his bad shit he is utterly unapologetic and actively refuses to apologise, basically telling people to get over it. This is the kind of shit he likes to call out. Maybe he should make a video about criticising himself and his hypocrisy.

He consistently proves hes a good person through his actions (constantly helping out others with money, giving legal advice, defending people who others are scared to defend, etc) but he says terrible shit from time to time on a long format show where you have to fill the space or risk dead air. He seems like kind of a 'I get caught up in the heat of the moment' kinda guy, saying a lot of dumb things live on his show that maybe didn't get through in his videos.

I don’t care that he makes mistakes sometimes, he’s human. I care that he refuses to apologize or be responsible for his actions.

@@fm.burbank8461 why
I feel the same way dude. I wish he would go back to making videos I mean those speak for themselves of how funny they are
His early videos relied heavily on editing and splicing in funny clips with comedic timing, something that is missing when he rambles on for 3 hours straight with no filter
Ethan considers himself "the next Howard Stern," and, in a way, he's right: they both made their careers through transgressive comedy and now spend every waking moment making sure no one else has the same opportunity they did.
Also they’re both insanely out of touch with anyone who isn’t a celebrity that lives on the same coast they do .
in what way does he do that?!
Wtf u talking about
This is so stupid. When has Ethan ever done anything like that? Insanely stupid take, please promise yourself you'll stop spouting shit with a source :)
Bro the FCC tried to take down anybody that did what howard did, it's howard who had the balls to fight back so idk wtf yur talking abt

The irony of post that points out the infallibility of a man that won't admit he has it.
Its really nice to Rewatch this era when Ethan was so beloved all over the board.
Can you make one episode about FilthyFrank?
I watch Ethan here and then, but sometimes his "wokeness" doesn't seem sincere. It seems like he is just trying to appeal too the audience he gained. That same audience will turn there backs on him because he will never be "woke enough"
He just learned the words and tries to say and do what he thinks will make him popular but it’s all very shallow. The only thing that makes him bearable is when he has interesting people to talk to. When it’s just him and his employees it’s so boring.
@Ignota "Hyper liberal pro censorship platform" and yet people are radicalized by alt-right content on this platform every single day.
Just went from playing HOI4 to watching an epic video good day
Also..also...
Maybe he should make a video about criticising himself and his hypocrisy.
these 2 guys who pranked pewds though.. :P
You skipped the Jordan Peterson episode and prophesy as well as Joe Rogan.
Im pretty sure all H3H3s views are just people hate watching and bots.
I used to fall asleep to h3. Was happy he’d make money off my views. Now Ethan brings the worst out of me when I watch. I hate him so much now. And I watch cause, coman . Best dumpster fire on the net
This aged like a fine milk
why?
@@leolandi3852 Cuz H3H3 got eaten alive and discarded by the same people he buddied up to.
What bro canceled by Andrew Tate
Yo. I didn't know all this history about Ethan. What a ride! lol
Would like to see one on Cinemassacre!
Papa hasnt been blessed in a very long time
hes uncancellable because of his money and cultish fanbase but outside of his fans most ppl really despise him and also hasan who he has teamed up with - he has turned into the woke sjw he used to make fun of and is an angry miserable bitter shell of his former self - sad to see because he used to be everyones fav youtuber
Really nice job with this video man
His podcast is very boring
still waiting on one of these vids for Yahtzee.

Ethan is literally only "Uncancelable" because he is TH-cams Pet!

That’s google and the American governments fault for having such ease to personal information, you guys need GDPR.
I'll put myself to stake here.
I'm a very white dude, uncle ruckus is my best impersonation.
Me n a eastern dude got in a heated argument, got into a party, and revealed our true nature. As our guises dropped, we trolled for many games. Miss that dude fr.
Bottom line, dont be offensive, culture humour isnt a bad thing if its not meant as a rude thing. 👌
L3L3 Ethan Decline
The pewdiepie apology tour video ethan did was funny, considering that callin anyone and everyone a anti semi is his favorite thing to do now days
You mean anti semite?
You doesn't just do it for fun, he gets harassed a TON by the right wing/antisemites, they even had to move house because of it.
Even if you look on the Instagram of his wife and baby in hospital you can see that the comments are full of really disgusting antisemitic statements
Is this bigoted garbage fire supposed to be a sentence lmao
@@NefariousSpineLizard bigoted?😂
@@kaztheunbreakable Uh, yeah. I hate H3H3 but they have 100% been a target for anti-semites lol
I was there in like 2017 when he happily used the n slur and f slur which is just a cute and hilarioua thing idubbbz fans used to? Call him (wouldnt know cause i stopped watching) that was fucking wiiiiild dude. Im like this is youtube comedy... lmao. The audience laps it up because mental immaturity is the norm and the "community" is largely not minorities.
Get woke go broke
Ethan has gotten miserable over the years i just feel sorry for him
