Yeah it was great not having someone pc doing commentary, being a road racer I found his commentary a lot more insightful as well

Gutted you aren’t riding, if its any consolation your commentary at the NW200 was awesome, proper funny, you and the rest of the team seem to bounce off each other really well. All the best mate.👍🏻👍🏻

It's the best thing for your leg Lee. Get it strong and let it repair itself properly. The road racing will be there next year and you'll be back stronger and fitter than before.
Your commentary was kick ass on the I was in the paddock and had traveled all the way with my son from NewHampshire USA and had brought a toy tractor for your son and the picture i got with you was epic, and means the world to me! can't express how much I love you and your family and team. I have lost count of the number of people in the motoring forums who spoke of the superb commentary you provided. Brilliant and devilish and loved by all. I know how much you wanted to race and how much we all wanted to see you on track. Although it didnt work out this time you certainly gave us all something to remember NW200 2024 by. Get PROPERLY Fit as if you damage it again could be a disaster. We need you fit and fast. We can wait so take the time it will take. We are with you Lee👍
Absolutely gutted for you Lee 😢 That’s such a blow after everything you’ve been through and how hard you’ve worked to get fit after last time. The main thing is you’re still here and of course there’s always next time, but I totally sympathise with how tough it must be to be missing out.

Lee, I have been in a wheelchair (old rugby injury) for 25 years now, so I can empathise with your situation. But I also want to thank you for the brutally honest way you have described and approached your own mental health challenges here. I wasn’t so honest to start off with, even with myself, and suffered because of that. I am really hoping we all get to see you riding competitively again. For myself; I have a team preparing a Subaru so I can compete in a hillclimb next year. I am determined not to be there just to make up the numbers, but we are out to win the class! Even aged 61, the competitive spirit remains!

So gutted for you. Wishing you the best. I had a bike crash 25 years ago that left me disabled and it so hard to except missing out on my planned life. Keep pushing but being sensible is a hard balancing act. Your fans are right behind you. It was great to hear you commentating on NW 200.

Gives you a whole year to come back 💯 ready 💪 and hungry to get back out on the NW200 & TT circuits
It's tough to pin everything on a making a couple events then have to wait to heal up properly and then just miss it. A tremendous amount of pressure to be there both internally and externally but down deep you know not making theses events is the right thing to do.
Now some of the pressure is off because making it is out of your hands and your just waiting to be cleared and start training and riding so you can do it properly.
So sorry for you Lee. Hope your on commentary as you are a breath of fresh air. Onwards and upwards mate.

Brilliant NW200 commentary, just brilliant. No TT this year must be a huge knock but great that Lee had the balls to accept that the doc knows best best.
I expected this news when I saw the state of the leg while you were doing commentary at NW200… which I think you are a golden addition to the commentary team… you did great 👍
The most important thing is to get yourself well, I’d have hated to see you try and rush back and cause yourself more damage… or try and ride the TT injured 🤕

Lee, many moons ago I had 24 weeks in traction with a fractured femur just above the knee, and then 9 months in a full-leg caliper. Absolute pain in the arse. Keep a record of every good experience once all the framework and screws come out. It will made a great vlog. And wait until you actually run for the first time. You’ll have a grin a mile wide and all of the irritations will fade away in the rear view mirror.
Lee, I came here to tell you that you’re doing an amazing job with the boys casting. Great work. You’ll be back on the bike soon enough. Take your time. Heal up mentally, emotionally and physically.😉👊🏽

I shattered my Tib / Fib racing years ago, 8 months after the original reconstruction the plates broke and I had to start again. All up I was on crutches for over a year. Don't worry about missing the racing just get healed up properly and you'll be back just as strong. It takes it out of you healing from an injury like this physically and mentally, work and home life suffers.
Annoying as it might be, asking those around to help with the little things is a great way for them to demonstrate how much love they have for you in only the way special family and friends can. They will feel your frustration and feel frustrating there isn't even more they could do. Been that, done that when my wife got Breast cancer ( survived, thankfully). Love the drawing too - missed seeing you at the TT lsat year but hopefully 2025. Stay safe. Love the vids, needless to say. And enjoying your radio commentary too. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Lee, I can totally agree with your frustration of not being able to ride at the TT or even a motorbike. A couple of years ago, whilst doing a trackday at Cartagena, I developed a problem in my right hip. Eventually it was found to be an infection in the bone/joint and so I've had a temporary operation to remove the top of the femur and antibiotics to get rid of the infection before a total hip replacement. This has left me off work and unable to ride, both on track or road. Your TH-cam channel has kept me entertained, so for now keep them coming and your head up. Your a lot younger than me, I'm 64 so many years riding ahead for you, and me!, I hope. You mate can entertain a lot of people without or as well as your riding, well done.
I feel for you Lee, and I saw the disappointment in your face. I spent 7 months on crutches, twice! (none load bearing) after bone grafts, because of a crash at Oulton. The crutches were thrown across the room a few times. Chin-up mucker. You`ll be back even stronger!
Difficult scenario but you have to look long term. Take the necessary time and come back 100% . 👍

You still have that magic moment when it'll all come together on the bike again, you're channelling the power of the universe, you're having ultimate fun and the podiums will come from there again like they're nothing more than merely icing on a cake... We know you see it as a job - but it's not... It's a passion, and, to you... it WAS fun. It can be again. You can do it! You will... Take your time. (And if I see you at the island this year I'll expect an autograph - lol!) :D
Absolutely gutted for you Lee missing the TT. On a positive note your commentary during the North West was excellent and i can see a full time gig at commentary when you hang up your leathers.
Another one who loved listening to you on the North West coverage mate. And as horrible as it sounds, you can push the limit of recovery but you cannot force it, Hutchy and his leg is testament to that i feel.

Sorry to hear you won't be racing the TT this year. I am sure you will still be in much demand at the race for your dulcet tones and sunny disposition. Take your time with the recovery though, that way you will only need to recover once. As for me, this last weekend was my first full weekend back riding the pushbike. 22 mile rides each day and spun up to 17 mph on the single speed for a short time. Thanks again for all the encouragement and we all will recover together! You continue to be a class act and an inspiration Lee.

Well, that's gotta be a punch in the head! Positive I couldn't have taken that news as calmly as you did...even suspecting the bad news was coming. Hope to hear your commentary on TTPlus here in NZ... I'll get to the TT in person sometime and when I do, yours is the first hand I'm gunna shake...such an inspiration.

As much as you are absolutely heart broken you cant race what youve aimed for this year, you need to see how far youve progressed forward with everything mate! Your mental health, your mobility, your family life and home life, you can drive, you can still do nearly 5000 steps within a few hours, you still in the mixer mate!!! I know its not scratching that itch and its guttering. Youve absolutely smashed so many small goals whilst on this journey of recovery!!
I cant wait to see what you achieve once youve mended as I know you will be the most focused hardest working guy to get them big goals achieved when possible. Really looking forward to seeing you on the podium again dude!!
