you are one of a few people in your generation that are studying neuroscience, so you have a responsibility to share and to bring this important piece of life to the light.
em i'm pausing this video every 30 seconds to process the experiences you're sharing with the one's i'm having myself. not being a medical doctor because you want to help people through research, filtering everything that comes from life through the brain, wanting to fix drug addiction rather than just put a plaster on it and i'm only half way through the video! it's nice to have someone else who's further on my path than i am sharing their experiences and seeing how similar they are to my own. because of stories like this i know i'm in the right profession! if you keep doing what you do i'm sure you'll hear about me in years to come. we might even collaborate on something! keep being you em
Thank you so much for sharing! I was so nervous about being vulnerable and sharing my story, but i’m so glad it resonates with you. Your comment is why I posted this! Thank you
You are truly so inspirational! I’ve been working in a job that drains me for 8 years now and I’m so ready for a change. I love learning about neuroscience but I’m not in a position financially to persue education in it, so learning from you has been so motivating! I always look forward to your posts ❤
I found out about you last summer and I immediately started following you not only because I’m passionate about what you talk about, but also because you are such a radiant person! Love your energy, thank you for opening this channel ❤️
Totally agree, we change we should evolve and never say to our selves, or listen to others , that is not for you ,or now is too late I talk from personal experience, and i m grateful to find out other inspirational , amazing and completely motivated human beings such as you I wish you all the best from heart and keep sharing your light with others!! That makes us happy !
Thank you for this video Em! You have definitely been through a lot on your journey and I love to see how you overcame numerous challenges. Whether it was the breakup or the death of a close friend, you are strong ❤
Haven’t watched this vid until the end yet but it is SUPER helpful as someone who recently graduated from undergrad in bio and thinking of getting into neuroscience research field too! THANK YOU
I just found you while scrolling throughout my university application process because I'm willing to start a bachelor in Neuroscience in a few months and, watching how you passionately talk about your career path and the closeness you show just adds me more excitement to enroll the degree, thank youu!
This video popped up because i’ve been searching for people who’ve dedicated their passion let alone their time for neuroscience - Please keep sharing videos and tips about starting/continuing this path. Thank you ❤️
I’ve been studying law for 2 years now but i’ve always hesitated between law and psychology or neuroscience. I think one of the main reasons I followed you was to see neuroscience related content and avoir the urges of dropping everything and changing lane. It’s really really inspiring to hear about everything you’ve been through to get where you are and also because you have adhd it gives me hope in my abilities to become better as a person with adhd as well. I am really passionate about everything you post and I am really in awe with how amazing you are❤
You are a science divulgator about a life-changing subjects... you have a position that can lead to many changes in the world, that's why you find people trying to stops you because of your following on social media, you are reaching the world from the deep place you are, you are benefiting the future of the humanity with your vision and work... there are lots of old people with old views that don't care about the future of science because they will not be part of it. I'm wishing a long life and a lifetime motivation so that nobody can stops you. I chearing up for you ❤❤❤❤
This is the video I’ve been looking for all along! You literally described everything I’m looking for in terms of degree/research and lifestyle alignment…THANK YOU SO MUCH!! ❤
I love your work Emily, great to learn more about you and your journey 💭💫 very inspiring. Addiction is such an important topic, you are helping to spread greater awareness about treating the underlying causes (often it's childhood abuse and neglect), which the medical profession STILL does not seem to want to acknowledge. Gabor Maté talks a lot about this topic too, you could work together perhaps? The world needs your wisdom 🙏🏻💖
Your thoughts are so much similar to me. I also am obsessed with neuroscience and wanna major in it but they don't teach neuroscience in my country so I'm doing bachelors in biotechnology and inshallah will do neuroscience after that from abroad.❤
I love this video so much!! It was so insightful, as someone who’s aspiring to become a neuroscientist someday as well. It’s relieving knowing that I don’t have to get my PhD to be successful in this field because I’ve been stuck on whether I should go for that or not. You’re doing great things, Em!! You’re definitely changing the world in a positive light and you’re such an inspiration to many out there. Keep going!! Thank you for creating this video, I’m definitely subscribing now 💖
Welcome, Mental Health is a big deal. It's only talked about when things go cuckoo. I think you're helping to bring awareness. The different oddities of the human "cranic"existence. I think we all can learn, share and like your content! Liking the vibes. Perception!
Wow this is absolutely and truly inspiring ❤ I’ve always wanted to do something meaningful with my life but never materialised. But this video is a sign definitely I needed to change the course of my life and start over again. I love neuroscience with all my heart..thank you for sharing your life story. Wow I’m grateful for finding your page on Instagram ❤🎉
Hi cool stuff, I would look at youtube shorts as well, its a great way to introduce concepts. I look as astronomy shorts all the time, its a great way to learn about a topic such as neuroscience!
Have you been approached to be a mentor before? You have a ton of knowledge and mentorship could be another way you could help people if not already doing so. Your story is very similar to mine, I was in one major and then fell in love with Psychology after taking my psychology class, now I’m working towards becoming a clinical psychologist.
So as a person who has a degree in English literature How can I get ready to study neuro science because iam afraid that I don't have the qualifications to be a neuroscientist although I love this field so much plz advise me what to do ❤
Hi! I talked about this a bit in the vid but yes I took classes while doing my PhD! It was 4 semesters of courses in total and I finished them before being able to graduate! The PhD itself depends on how log it takes you to publish your research. :)
@@emonthebrain thank you, I was interested because you said in the video you took classes, in the UK we don’t get to do that in a phd. I’m doing a research masters but I actually miss doing classes as well. I’m in a different area but useful to hear about your experience :)

Great journey, what's the things that you hope you know when you was 17 years old? Maybe it's a good question for the next video😂❤❤
