+dpskatoo75 Assuming you're under 35 (Just a guess for max age for this) by the time we're old, virtual reality should have been invented and at an affordable price. As long as you don't die before then that is. Won't need to move your body at all, so won't need the energy. Arthritis won't effect using a controller and that. The tech is already on it's way to it and with how fast tech had been advancing it's very likely we will see it happen before we die of old age. The thought of virtual reality where you are actually in the game happening at some point in my life is one of the things that keeps me going. Virtual reality can go far past games as well, it would be great for the old and disabled who can't get out and socialize or play sports etc... Just go for a walk in a virtual park and socialize, make friends, all without leaving your house.
For me the absolute worst is the "not in the mood" scenario. I STRUGGLE with it EVERYDAY. I'll spend the entire day at work thinking "Aw man, I can't wait to get home and gather some soldiers for Mother Base! Or complete a few goddamn side ops!" (PS guess what I'm stupid enough to try and play) just to get home, feed the pets, feed myself, etc etc.... and then when the day's chores are done... I'm just not in the mood for gaming. So I end up right here. On youtube. Just wasting away... *Sigh*

I feel your pain, downloading a game with 15GB with a 3k connection.... Anyone that is using the same router as you will slow it down even further so you sometimes need to download for 3 or 4 days... And that with your PC constantly running, even in the night.

Can totally relate to that. Game companies are terrible with patches nowadays. Can't count how many times I finally sit down to play in the evening, start the game and bang 5-6GB patches, sometimes even bigger needs to be downloaded. By the time they are done downloading, I'll be sleeping.

Alas when I was in high school I had the dilemma of only having free time for friends or video games... But thankfully I came up with a compromise! I got rid of my friends and made new ones online.
School is NOT the same, believe me. All you have to do is pay attention in class and actually get invested in what you want to learn. You won't have to spend so much time learning at home because you'll remember a lot of it from the classroom. Teachers will also be less harsh if you show interest. Homework isn't that bad. If you know what you're doing, it will end quicker than you think. Things do change in college but when you're in college you won't have time for games because you're probably spend more time drinking yourself into a comma. Or whoring around as it was in my case.
Or having a kid. I get up at the asscrack of dawn, go to work, get back, and now I take over for my wife. Good luck playing even a casual game, two year olds treat those four minutes of play like it's four minutes to destroy your home.

I know this is an older video, but I've wondered on a couple occasions how in the world you could cover the number of games that you do. There is no way you can possibly get too in-depth on any of these large open world games. Just doing the main missions takes anywhere from 30-50+ hours.

My physical PC game library is my computer retrogaming wet dream ... but I have yet to play more than a fraction of the games I have. The irony is that I find the process of hunting down old PC game titles and getting good deals on them almost as enjoyable as *playing* the actual games themselves.
I work at an art museum. Very respected, very professional...and I get to play video games at my desk if there's nobody around. Not in secret either. My bosses know about it and even advise doing so (or reading or something else to fill time) because otherwise I'm sitting there staring into space whilst waiting for people to enter the lobby.
The thing about not being in the mood to play during the limited free time is why I haven't finished the main story in Horizon Zero Dawn yet. And I also have to spend time with my girlfriend.
The worst is when you don't have the day off after the day a game is released. So you stay up till 4 am anyway to play it (cause let's be real, it took at least 2 hours to install and shit) and then you feel like death the next day.
Although it's kind of like number 9, the worst thing about being a gamer who works is trying to play online and getting your ass kicked by all those people who have been able to learn the game by playing for 4 days straight.
My problem is that when I only have one day off I don't feel like even playing on it, nobody wants to waste their entire day playing a video game during the few free time you have, you want to get shit done you haven't been able to due to work.

Retailers are one of the few businesses that are booming, and oh dear god can we say booming. It's crazy. I had this one friend of mine who had a job in a retail store. He started out as an assistance, and by his second year he was the store manager. Retailers in my country does not work for very long unfortunately before moving on to different jobs, so they are constantly looking for workers. And their wages are not bad either. It's not like you earn yourself a fortune, but it's quite a decent one.
Sometimes its dependant on the hours in my experience, when I was a landscaper I worked from 6am to 3pm and slept at about 9pm which gave me 5 hours to get down on Payday 2, however when I worked as a call center representative, my hours were 10am to 7pm and I slept at about 10pm which gave me an overall 3 hours to get down on gaming which sucked a lot...

I had to schedule my gaming when I was in high school because of all the extracurricular activities I did there as well as trying to be on top of my classes being in honors classes and all. So in other words being in high school feels like a 9-5 job without getting paid and I'm luck if I even got time to game, it felt like everyone around me is keeping me from having alone time. When I was in college and Splatoon came out, I had to play it when the semester ends because I had to focus on classes and I love Splatoon.
I'm 19 years old and working 35 hours a week, I'm a Produce Clerk at a Grocery Store, and being a Produce is somewhat a physical job, so when I get home, I'm tired, usually I just watch TH-cam Videos and then go to bed.
That's a problem of mindset bro. You're bracing up for work everyday and when you're done your body just drops everything. Because you're telling your body that using energy is no longer required. And your body just loves the sound of that because expending energy is something the human body really hates.

+MrRedisA.D.D. well there was Monster Hunter for PSP... but those hunts could last a long time, there was a lot to do though... unlike its DS counterpart thats nerfed beyond reason... however the original (better) versions on PSP also had missions "hunt" that would last no more than 30min ...perfect for lunch breaks. what needs to happen is lunch breaks be an hour long, and get paid too. i cant stand this 30min bullshit, by the time i clock out, make my way outside, eat and have a smoke i gotta go clock back in... then when i get off work, have to drive most nights pick up some fast food go home, eat, and fall asleep... things need to change... people need to get paid more and work less... end of story.

I wish I were still in high school, I had more free time then than I do now. School is NOT the same, believe me. All you have to do is pay attention in class and actually get invested in what you want to learn. You won't have to spend so much time learning at home because you'll remember a lot of it from the classroom. Teachers will also be less harsh if you show interest. Homework isn't that bad. If you know what you're doing, it will end quicker than you think. Things do change in college but when you're in college you won't have time for games because you're probably spend more time drinking yourself into a comma. Or whoring around as it was in my case.

Retailers are one of the few businesses that are booming, and oh dear god can we say booming. It's crazy. I had this one friend of mine who had a job in a retail store. He started out as an assistance, and by his second year he was the store manager. Retailers in my country does not work for very long unfortunately before moving on to different jobs, so they are constantly looking for workers. And their wages are not bad either. It's not like you earn yourself a fortune, but it's quite a decent one.
Sometimes its dependant on the hours in my experience, when I was a landscaper I worked from 6am to 3pm and slept at about 9pm which gave me 5 hours to get down on Payday 2, however when I worked as a call center representative, my hours were 10am to 7pm and I slept at about 10pm which gave me an overall 3 hours to get down on gaming which sucked a lot...

I had to schedule my gaming when I was in high school because of all the extracurricular activities I did there as well as trying to be on top of my classes being in honors classes and all. So in other words being in high school feels like a 9-5 job without getting paid and I'm luck if I even got time to game, it felt like everyone around me is keeping me from having alone time. When I was in college and Splatoon came out, I had to play it when the semester ends because I had to focus on classes and I love Splatoon.
I'm 19 years old and working 35 hours a week, I'm a Produce Clerk at a Grocery Store, and being a Produce is somewhat a physical job, so when I get home, I'm tired, usually I just watch TH-cam Videos and then go to bed.
That's a problem of mindset bro. You're bracing up for work everyday and when you're done your body just drops everything. Because you're telling your body that using energy is no longer required. And your body just loves the sound of that because expending energy is something the human body really hates.

My little sisters got me Monster Hunter 4U. =( When the fuck am I supposed to play that? *Cries* Hunting one monster is like an hour! And what's worse is that I LOVE Monster Hunter! Fuuuck!

+MrRedisA.D.D. well there was Monster Hunter for PSP... but those hunts could last a long time, there was a lot to do though... unlike its DS counterpart thats nerfed beyond reason... however the original (better) versions on PSP also had missions "hunt" that would last no more than 30min ...perfect for lunch breaks. what needs to happen is lunch breaks be an hour long, and get paid too. i cant stand this 30min bullshit, by the time i clock out, make my way outside, eat and have a smoke i gotta go clock back in... then when i get off work, have to drive most nights pick up some fast food go home, eat, and fall asleep... things need to change... people need to get paid more and work less... end of story.
my problem is I be tryna come home play games, watch TH-cam and catch up on every single naruto episode ever made :( I ain't got the time for all of that I haven't even made it to shippuden yet

Being a gamer with a job made me sacrifice my social life... I found out gaming is actually cheaper than a social life so I’m actually saving money 😁
I work 8 to 5, Monday thru Friday, so I can relate to a lot of these. I have my own place and am single so finding time to play games is not too bad. I can't imagine having time when I find a woman and she moves in though. Dear god, say goodbye to long bursts of gaming. Hopefully the sex will make up for it.

Me and hubby met in FFXI online and been together 10 years; my guild mate leaders from Singapore are gamers; friends from QLD are husband and wife gamers; my coworkers and best friends at work are gamers and in a relationship - it CAN happen. When hubby is gaming, I'm in my other area gaming (or sleeping...a lot) and I go to his room to watch him raid. I can totally understand though - previous dickhead boyfriends I had didn't understand that my ideal quiet weekends involved playing video games versus throwing money down the drain at some skanky club...........

+FireFox My wife is a gamer...met her in high school and back in high school I bought her an Xbox 360 just to play online together....as dates! haha Also a plus was when she moved in and brought her 64 and Gamecube with her haha talk about an Achievement :D

Dude I work late every night, I get home at around 2 am, play games until 5:30 am, sleep, wake up and shower, go to work and the cycle continues. I wish I were still in high school, I had more free time then than I do now. I envy you children with your summer breaks, winter breaks, mid winter breaks, spring breaks, etc. Don't take your time in school for granted. It's hard to be a working gamer. 😢

that sucks man I'm srry. I'd say the majority of the world works jobs they hate so they can sometimes do stuff they actually give a crap about
how about it being the night before work and you have to wake up early but all your friends are online and wanting to play the same multiplayer game....
Should change the video to the one thing gamers with jobs hate - their job.
