I'll spend the entire day at work thinking "Aw man, I can't wait to get home and gather some soldiers for Mother Base! Or complete a few goddamn side ops!" (PS guess what I'm stupid enough to try and play) just to get home, feed the pets, feed myself, etc etc.... and then when the day's chores are done... I'm just not in the mood for gaming. So I end up right here. On youtube. Just wasting away... *Sigh*

+dpskatoo75 Assuming you're under 35 (Just a guess for max age for this) by the time we're old, virtual reality should have been invented and at an affordable price. As long as you don't die before then that is. Won't need to move your body at all, so won't need the energy. Arthritis won't effect using a controller and that. The tech is already on it's way to it and with how fast tech had been advancing it's very likely we will see it happen before we die of old age. The thought of virtual reality where you are actually in the game happening at some point in my life is one of the things that keeps me going. Virtual reality can go far past games as well, it would be great for the old and disabled who can't get out and socialize or play sports etc... Just go for a walk in a virtual park and socialize, make friends, all without leaving your house.
For me the hardest part is when you haven't played video games in a long time and finally are free but your friends want you to hang out but you just want to play. Ps this happens to me alllll the time

I feel your pain, downloading a game with 15GB with a 3k connection.... Anyone that is using the same router as you will slow it down even further so you sometimes need to download for 3 or 4 days... And that with your PC constantly running, even in the night.

Can totally relate to that. Game companies are terrible with patches nowadays. Can't count how many times I finally sit down to play in the evening, start the game and bang 5-6GB patches, sometimes even bigger needs to be downloaded. By the time they are done downloading, I'll be sleeping.

The worst is when you don't have the day off after the day a game is released. So you stay up till 4 am anyway to play it (cause let's be real, it took at least 2 hours to install and shit) and then you feel like death the next day.
When a patch or new content is due to be out, time has been scheduled at work so you can be there for all that shiny new content.... and they drop the ball on it.. delay it a day or more... and then you are at work and cant get to that new content. (MMORPG)

I'm 19 years old and working 35 hours a week, I'm a Produce Clerk at a Grocery Store, and being a Produce is somewhat a physical job, so when I get home, I'm tired, usually I just watch TH-cam Videos and then go to bed.
That's a problem of mindset bro. You're bracing up for work everyday and when you're done your body just drops everything. Because you're telling your body that using energy is no longer required. And your body just loves the sound of that because expending energy is something the human body really hates.
Using 2 weeks of vacation to play through the new open world game instead of going to the beach. That was the method for GTA5 and this will be for Red Dead 2.

I played GTAV for a little over a year, started working full time, then met this girl. Now I regret buying GTAV on digital download when it requires so much grinding for in-game money. I have no time for it anymore.

Jesus, I had never talked about this with others before. I had no idea others felt the same way, but it is reassuring to know they do. I can honestly say that every single one of these hits home.
School is NOT the same, believe me. All you have to do is pay attention in class and actually get invested in what you want to learn. You won't have to spend so much time learning at home because you'll remember a lot of it from the classroom. Teachers will also be less harsh if you show interest. Homework isn't that bad. If you know what you're doing, it will end quicker than you think. Things do change in college but when you're in college you won't have time for games because you're probably spend more time drinking yourself into a comma. Or whoring around as it was in my case.
I took three days to deliver a load of beverages because I kept tired crashing but I still ended the run $70,000 richer because my drivers made money as I was bumbling around sleep crashing.
Or having a kid. I get up at the asscrack of dawn, go to work, get back, and now I take over for my wife. Good luck playing even a casual game, two year olds treat those four minutes of play like it's four minutes to destroy your home.

Retailers are one of the few businesses that are booming, and oh dear god can we say booming. It's crazy. I had this one friend of mine who had a job in a retail store. He started out as an assistance, and by his second year he was the store manager. Retailers in my country does not work for very long unfortunately before moving on to different jobs, so they are constantly looking for workers. And their wages are not bad either. It's not like you earn yourself a fortune, but it's quite a decent one.
I love the fact knowing that I can preorder a game and stay up all night and day playing on day 1 because I'm not legally old enough to get a job. I'm set for the next few years but eventually I will relate to this list..... it's depressing

When you've been waiting for a game to release for months or years and when you finally get it you never get that binge that you want because you have work the next day. Even days off don't feel long enough to get that binge you most desperately need.
The thing about not being in the mood to play during the limited free time is why I haven't finished the main story in Horizon Zero Dawn yet. And I also have to spend time with my girlfriend.

I know this is an older video, but I've wondered on a couple occasions how in the world you could cover the number of games that you do. There is no way you can possibly get too in-depth on any of these large open world games. Just doing the main missions takes anywhere from 30-50+ hours.
Sometimes its dependant on the hours in my experience, when I was a landscaper I worked from 6am to 3pm and slept at about 9pm which gave me 5 hours to get down on Payday 2, however when I worked as a call center representative, my hours were 10am to 7pm and I slept at about 10pm which gave me an overall 3 hours to get down on gaming which sucked a lot...
I work at an art museum. Very respected, very professional...and I get to play video games at my desk if there's nobody around. Not in secret either. My bosses know about it and even advise doing so (or reading or something else to fill time) because otherwise I'm sitting there staring into space whilst waiting for people to enter the lobby.
I have both school and work all the time and this video well represents my, and many other people's, frustration with trying to play games while dealing with daily, regular real life.
Yeah...yeah...yeah...Look I love my job, I really do, I have a bad ass job, and it does give me the $$$ for Saint Gabe to suck up during the Summer/winter sales...But being a gamer will always be my favored activity outside of womanly relationships, my job not only took me out of playing competitive but also ensures that very sadly I may never really get back to wear my team and I once stood, those glorious times were wonderful...and terribly short lived. Now my friends whom have cool jobs of their own, all we can seem to manage is a few hours every weekend or so where we reflect on the "good ole days" back in high school and make promises that maybe one day we'll all have the time to get to that magical status of Professional Gamer. And it sucks I can't tell say that nerdy paragraph to my co-workers...ah well.

What really makes the work days a bore, is that I can't casually discuss any game/nerd topics to my coworkers. If i had more gamer coworkers i would actually enjoy being at work more.
Although it's kind of like number 9, the worst thing about being a gamer who works is trying to play online and getting your ass kicked by all those people who have been able to learn the game by playing for 4 days straight.
You're absolutely right. I usually give myself an hour or so of game time when I get home from work, so long complicated quests are out so I'll do daily activites during the work week. On my days off however change games, maybe do something open world or narrative driven. It's even harder for me because I work overnight so all my friends ate asleep so that leaves out raids and stuff. But this is something I enjoy so I try to make time for it.
My physical PC game library is my computer retrogaming wet dream ... but I have yet to play more than a fraction of the games I have. The irony is that I find the process of hunting down old PC game titles and getting good deals on them almost as enjoyable as *playing* the actual games themselves.
On the whole "staying up late thing," I intentionally do so every week. I work midnights through the week, which means I have to adjust to "normal people" schedule on the weekends. So I get off Friday morning and take a decent nap so I can function for the rest of the day. Then on Saturday night, I make it a point to stay up as late (or, uh, early, I guess) as possible to get back into that "daytime sleep rhythm" so I can function Sunday night when I go back to work. So yeah, I'm all about staying up while everyone else in the house sleeps.
So true from 1 to 10. I don't have time to play games, but when I do then I go all in. Then I don't realize it's 1AM and I need sleep for the upcoming day.

Yeah I completely get the “stay up late” or “scheduled gaming” thing. I upload gaming videos as much as I can but it is hard to when I work about 60 hours a week and planning a wedding. It is hard but worth it!

Time sensitive events in games are also another thing that sucks, because you miss out on certain loot and exclusive content because you’re too tired, or you don’t have friends to play with because all your friends work different hours or shifts.
I go to school everyday till 4 pm.. bus ride home is an hour, work starts at 6 pm, ride to work is 30 min. Work till 10pm. Im dead after that. I only play in the weekend, after cleaning my house, doing groceries and homework :(
I get home from work at 04:30pm, get a shower, get food, then go on a game at around 06:00pm. I go to bed at 01:00am to 02:00am usually and have to wake up at 05:30 for work the next day. It has gotten to the point were I am used to being tired and exhausted so it doesn't really bother me as much. I get lie-ins on Sundays.

I used to stay up till past dawn every single day because of work. Luckily for me I worked at home and often started just before my boss arrived to work with me. (It was just me and her. She runs her own shop) so my work day started around noon and depending on what the goal was, I’d usually finish around 7. And then boom. All night gaming. Hell yeah. And lots of coffee lol.

Can totally relate to that. Game companies are terrible with patches nowadays. Can't count how many times I finally sit down to play in the evening, start the game and bang 5-6GB patches, sometimes even bigger needs to be downloaded. By the time they are done downloading, I'll be sleeping.

School is NOT the same, believe me. All you have to do is pay attention in class and actually get invested in what you want to learn. You won't have to spend so much time learning at home because you'll remember a lot of it from the classroom. Teachers will also be less harsh if you show interest. Homework isn't that bad. If you know what you're doing, it will end quicker than you think. Things do change in college but when you're in college you won't have time for games because you're probably spend more time drinking yourself into a comma. Or whoring around as it was in my case.

Retailers are one of the few businesses that are booming, and oh dear god can we say booming. It's crazy. I had this one friend of mine who had a job in a retail store. He started out as an assistance, and by his second year he was the store manager. Retailers in my country does not work for very long unfortunately before moving on to different jobs, so they are constantly looking for workers. And their wages are not bad either. It's not like you earn yourself a fortune, but it's quite a decent one.
I love the fact knowing that I can preorder a game and stay up all night and day playing on day 1 because I'm not legally old enough to get a job. I'm set for the next few years but eventually I will relate to this list..... it's depressing

I know this is an older video, but I've wondered on a couple occasions how in the world you could cover the number of games that you do. There is no way you can possibly get too in-depth on any of these large open world games. Just doing the main missions takes anywhere from 30-50+ hours.
Sometimes its dependant on the hours in my experience, when I was a landscaper I worked from 6am to 3pm and slept at about 9pm which gave me 5 hours to get down on Payday 2, however when I worked as a call center representative, my hours were 10am to 7pm and I slept at about 10pm which gave me an overall 3 hours to get down on gaming which sucked a lot...
I work at an art museum. Very respected, very professional...and I get to play video games at my desk if there's nobody around. Not in secret either. My bosses know about it and even advise doing so (or reading or something else to fill time) because otherwise I'm sitting there staring into space whilst waiting for people to enter the lobby.

I have both school and work all the time and this video well represents my, and many other people's, frustration with trying to play games while dealing with daily, regular real life.
Yeah...yeah...yeah...Look I love my job, I really do, I have a bad ass job, and it does give me the $$$ for Saint Gabe to suck up during the Summer/winter sales...But being a gamer will always be my favored activity outside of womanly relationships, my job not only took me out of playing competitive but also ensures that very sadly I may never really get back to wear my team and I once stood, those glorious times were wonderful...and terribly short lived. Now my friends whom have cool jobs of their own, all we can seem to manage is a few hours every weekend or so where we reflect on the "good ole days" back in high school and make promises that maybe one day we'll all have the time to get to that magical status of Professional Gamer.
And it sucks I can't tell say that nerdy paragraph to my co-workers...ah well.

You're absolutely right. I usually give myself an hour or so of game time when I get home from work, so long complicated quests are out so I'll do daily activites during the work week. On my days off however change games, maybe do something open world or narrative driven. It's even harder for me because I work overnight so all my friends ate asleep so that leaves out raids and stuff. But this is something I enjoy so I try to make time for it.

On the whole "staying up late thing," I intentionally do so every week. I work midnights through the week, which means I have to adjust to "normal people" schedule on the weekends. So I get off Friday morning and take a decent nap so I can function for the rest of the day. Then on Saturday night, I make it a point to stay up as late (or, uh, early, I guess) as possible to get back into that "daytime sleep rhythm" so I can function Sunday night when I go back to work. So yeah, I'm all about staying up while everyone else in the house sleeps.
So true from 1 to 10. I don't have time to play games, but when I do then I go all in. Then I don't realize it's 1AM and I need sleep for the upcoming day.

Time sensitive events in games are also another thing that sucks, because you miss out on certain loot and exclusive content because you’re too tired, or you don’t have friends to play with because all your friends work different hours or shifts.
I go to school everyday till 4 pm.. bus ride home is an hour, work starts at 6 pm, ride to work is 30 min. Work till 10pm. Im dead after that. I only play in the weekend, after cleaning my house, doing groceries and homework :(

I get home from work at 04:30pm, get a shower, get food, then go on a game at around 06:00pm. I go to bed at 01:00am to 02:00am usually and have to wake up at 05:30 for work the next day. It has gotten to the point were I am used to being tired and exhausted so it doesn't really bother me as much. I get lie-ins on Sundays.

yeah man the amount of times I've looked at the clock it's 9:30 pm thought yeah 30 mins more and I'll go off, 30 mins goes past "in your head" and you look at the clock and it's 3:45 am and you have to get up at 4:30 am 😑😥

I used to stay up till past dawn every single day because of work. Luckily for me I worked at home and often started just before my boss arrived to work with me. (It was just me and her. She runs her own shop) so my work day started around noon and depending on what the goal was, I’d usually finish around 7. And then boom. All night gaming. Hell yeah. And lots of coffee lol.
Drinking coffee to solve your lack of sleep is like filling a car with gas to repair the damage from hitting a tree lol
@@blauwbeer556 yeah lol but i was desperate to finish the hundreds of orders in time for events and customers. so i drank a ton of coffee and vegan smoothies with probiotics to keep my immune system up and running lol i got sick from being overworked a couple of times though.

@@blauwbeer556 i wish i had thought that way when i was working for that etsy shop. but i didnt and now i only pull all nighters when i know i have the freedom to do so without paying for it in working while exhausted.
i do miss working with for her though. i enjoyed dying the yarn and hearing how happy the customers were with the result of the colors and packaging display. it made everything worth it. she ended up letting me take over the packaging and dying since i was doing so well with it. but sadly she ended up selling the place and closed her shop for a year. 😞 i miss working for her.

Dude I work late every night, I get home at around 2 am, play games until 5:30 am, sleep, wake up and shower, go to work and the cycle continues. I wish I were still in high school, I had more free time then than I do now. I envy you children with your summer breaks, winter breaks, mid winter breaks, spring breaks, etc. Don't take your time in school for granted. It's hard to be a working gamer. 😢

... I needed this. Work is dreadful until I forget I'm at work.. 40+ hours a week... And then during lunch break I clash to calm the nerves... And eventually saturdays and Sundays roll around and go time
