I was born in Burton in 1957 and left my home town in 1983 to live in Winnipeg. I miss my home town and still visit it from 1986, 2001,2003,2005,2008,2010,2013,and my last visit 2015.
Yes, Burton is a good town, sadly lead by Fools & Horses, whom just seem to want to pull each other down. One wants one thing, the other another., so there is never ever a cohesive move in a forward direction. Just look or remember how Burton quietened down when the By -pass was constructed. Then that `Bailey` called St Peters bridge was assembled and the traffic all returned. Call that progress I do not I call it greed and inefficiency of vision. Why in heavens name can not the councils forget there political `Bent` and work together for a better quality of life for all whom live "In Burton".
The best thing about Burton are the roads leading out of it.
I still live in Burton today
I always will see the Telephone Exchange out of my window
Nearly 3 years in this town, and I love it ☺️

Burton-upon-Trent is a decent town, but it's sadly decaying. Businesses closing and the younger generations moving away. Great shame.
