- Gary Numan performing his classic hit on the make-up day of Cruel World Fest 2023. Despite playing his full set the day before, he blessed the audience with a second show, opening up for Iggy Pop (whose set was cut short on 5/20/23) and Siouxsie Sioux (who did not get to perform the day before).
On Saturday, 5/20/23 the Pasadena Fire Marshall shut the festival down early and evacuated the grounds due to an incoming lightning storm.
Third time seeing Numan and he did not disappoint. Great presence, awesome stage show and all around amazing artist. Highly recommend you see him next time he comes to your city.

The Pleasure Principle on cassette in my 1968 Chevy 2 Nova in 1980 ! 6x9 Jensen speakers ! Greatest times great music !
Heck yeah....those blue foam surround Jensen speakers...lol....blew many of those out in the 80's!!!!

Musically it's more similar to the Fear Factory cover version (that he also performed on) than his original version. Both are great, but the original is legendary.
Thanks I didn't know he performed on that cover. When that song came out nothing sounded like that. If you heard it on a quality stereo wow.

I've always enjoyed Gary's music and you can't deny the influence he has had on many bands over the last few decades but this feels like he is trying to imitate NIN(a band he influenced.. full circle I guess) in the 90's, with their attire and even the way he moves and postures. Still Great though this wasn't one of the best songs from that set.
Interesting version. Certainly not a rehashing or karaoke version of this timeless classic 80's song.
