The swing from the drums to the crowd is an acknowledgement that something special is happening. That crowd has the feeling we all crave in the the audience. A unified expression of collective joy.

NIN aka Nine Inch Nails led by a guy named Trent Reznor. He wrote this song that you may know of th-cam.com/video/8AHCfZTRGiI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=JohnnyCashVEVO

I was 14 when I first heard Gary's song on the radio, and it blew my mind. Still love it today, and this version is simply a killer!

such a cool song, love how "into it" Gary Numan was...feel like it's the 80s again; and Trent's tambourine skills are off the hook.

This is one video I keep coming back to. One of my favorite performances. The reaction of the crowd in the beginning, Trent letting Gary do his thing, Trent playing tambourine and keyboard, the energy of Ilan Rubin, and finally but not least is the camera work. Over the top!

I love the look on his face, that smile at 24 seconds, how an entire arena of kids who probably weren't alive when that song came out suddenly get it and are completely stoked

Someone said it before me. But Trent allows Gary the full stage and stays in the background. And at the end Gary hugs him and thanks him. I’d like to meet Trent. He is a stand up guy.

I come back to this video over and over and over. It raises my blood pressure a good 10 points and I like it. From the opening lick you can feel the crowd and I want to be there so bad.

I bet Gary Numan never imagined anything like this when this song first came out more than 40 years ago :)
