Worth a tryout in Skirmish mode for those of us who dont have the perf in MP yet. The Officer with 50 (5x10) will be air dropping crates first up I suspect. Somewhere back in skirmish? I noted some tanks had smoke grenades . Their use will add to the game dynamics. Can be used to be a rouse if nothing else, where micro is not a strong point. -Hag
i would add 1 more important thing, if you sneak up and u didnt get spotted, but enemy fires blind shot , like with mg42 and hits you, you will be visible for a few sec, but the few sec doesnt matter becouse other will kill your sneaky capping soldier

Never played multiplayer, different creature. I like the micro static game myself, and I use smoke as much as anything else thrown by hand. If someone used smoke on me in multiplayer I would defo shit the bed. But they wouldn't need smoke to kill me haha. Typically, in single player of course, if I am not in the best position to just approach a tank's blind side or if other units are nearby, I throw a smoke or two on a standing tank (either damaged or engaged) and if I crack the hull with AT grenades or AT rocket I then throw a molotov if they are handy to kill the crew quickly as they exit. I also use smoke to plant dynamite on tanks that have rear MGs, cos planting an explosive at the rear under the engine will most of the time completely destroy the tank, or cause a fire, and that destroys the tank. One guy with enough smoke and an explosive can destroy every tank that comes his way if it can be stopped near him, then fish out more dynamite from the wreck for the next tank. Crouching smoker, hidden stoker.
Holy Smoke!But i am pretty sure it worked in AS1,maybe not same as now,but for infantry cover it did.I think that MYTH that it doesn't work came from two effect: 1)AI can't see you but player CAN and will react and "force" shot in smoke and 2)people expected they trow smoke,not waited smoke to form,go in and expected they can kill everything and everybody without being killed...IT doesn't work that way so people start shouting "it is broken,it doesn't work"...I am sure it work cause i test it on infantry and you can get "point blank" close but without shooting (obviously) You can test it in AS1 if you disagree. As of usage,it is pretty good for capping zone from enemy,giving better chances then with out it,so it CAN be used offensively.And there is a heavy arty with big smoke shells so you can make great smoke screen from safety before you move your boys in. Strat29 Well,even with out of arty grenade can be useful in urban environment in streets where side view is harder to brake smoke mechanic,like Tram depot or Suburban map.I can't wait to see some "smoke action" in one of yours next video :)

Wow. Smoke works surprisingly well. I am not sure how practical it will be though. With the nearly 5 second delay plus the fact that you have to throw multiple. Your enemy is getting 20-30 seconds to react to whatever your doing. They could run their own guys into the smoke very easily in that time. They could also, back their tank away from the smoke if you are trying to use it offensively. I can really only see this being useful offensively against tracked tanks.
hmmm im really doubtful of the benefits of any offensive. But I can imagine using this to put it around my tank when its broken.. or when I want to peekaboo shot
i've used smoke tons of times to take over a zone while under heavy fire. just crawl one guy in with hold fire. and have rest keep throwing smoke and grenades at assaults.
Strat29 or using smoke to move an at gun or t.d to flank a track tank ,but i guess it all comes down to the speed of the game i;e waiting for smoke to plume enough but most times using smoke against a good player is advertising a warning signal that your opponent is up to something
a may + how are you managing to even get this game to run without crashing/lagging/d.cing and setting your computer desk on fire ? such a shame it feels like it is 6 months away for finished,so many new players must try it out and with all the performance problems leave and uninstall

True you have to block all the enemy infantry LOS for it to be effective. I see it definately working for your tank defense though. You could just smoke around your tank without worrying about enemy infantry LOS. This is something I will defianately use. Hmmm I can see arty smokes in team games being effective, bigger ones though where arty might be useful. But damn they take way to long to reload. You gotta be pretty damn confident the smoke shell will work in conjuction to your tank attack to waste a barrage on that.

+Takemikazuchi 00 I use it as scare tactics! When a tank comes killing my troops and I have no means of countering it I drop 2 smoke nades making a path to the tank, and your first instinct is to get it out of danger so he stops killing my men for some time
I always use them when building sandbags early game, the work brilliantly. Never understood why nobody uses them.

my favorite grenade lol, especailly in casual games with my friends, get as many smokes as possbile and throw them everywhere

That's actually a good idea. Smoking around your AT gun so it disapears quickly after a shot too. I will definately try this for a ambush
