I worked nonstop for a while and now i can live off of growing investments in Thailand. The long term barrier is business/work visa. I could defer to teaching bjj/judo in a smaller province but im interested in developing new skills with the time while i study the language. Are you planning on making videos of what businesses other expats have started ?
Yeah, I plan to cover this as well! The visa situation is a challenge. The education visa is a decent option…just need to make sure that the school is legit! Cheers
Teaching experience gained in Thailand is worthless in other countries. They don't give a damn unless you have certificates to show. I have 15 years of teaching experience in total however because none of that was legal it means nothing. However I have the skills and could totally manage the hell of out of a class. I also speak a second language.
Unfortunately this is true. I’ve met quite a few people who are in this situation, and the private schools here can be pretty ruthless when it comes to ageism as well. Can make for a tough career path.
Salaries would normally be lower… but if your a properly qualified teacher there are language teachers at international schools, and there are also French and German international schools.
hey i spend my holidays in Thailand now i come back to Europe but i wanna live in Thailand. I dont have a skills to work on remote it is possible to get job in Thailand?
It depends on education qualifications and experience... most jobs are in education and corporate management, but there are quite a few other jobs available as well.
There are plenty of specialty jobs, but it must be a position that can’t be filled by a Thai person… I’ve met chefs, realtors, accountants, lawyers… quite a range of people actually
Hi I have a canadian passport, a master degree in computer science and 5 years experience as a supply teacher in canada. Can i teach in public, private schools and universities without a degree in education ? Thanks for help😊
@@thebangkokguide thank you so much for your consideration. I m working to finish a degree in ai and machine learning so if it works i would apply in it field, do you think data scientist is in demand with a good salary ? Thank you very much ans have a great day

I work at an international school… pay at almost every international school is over 100k. Top tier is closer to 160k. any international school paying 60k is a private school masquerading as an international school.
There are definitely schools who offer that. I'm moving to Bangkok for a contract starting end of August and I'm being paid 80k a month with 10k housing allowance. Not yet at 100k but I think it's very possible in many schools (NIST, Patana, etc)
Your prior video about avoiding scams in Thailand was golden, really helped alot on my last trip :-). Really appreciate it
Cheers! I’m glad it was helpful!
Hey Cal, appreciate the insights! 🙏
Thank you for the kind words!

Had a great few years in Bangkok working in recruitment. However, it was the very high cost of high school education that brought us home.
This is the most common reason friends of mine have left as well. The international schools are pricey!
Your email id pls ?
Great info!
Thanks! Cheers!
The weather in Canada is cool and the air is nice and clean. It’s better than Thailand, isn’t it? If I were you, I would live in Canada
I like the hot weather, but I definitely prefer the air quality in Canada. I think both countries are very nice! Cheers
@@thebangkokguide If you had to choose between Thailand and Canada, would you choose to live in Thailand or Canada?

I cant find work at all and I cant even find remote work here in cali. I want to go to thailand so bad but it just aint working
There are a lot of remote work options as well. I’ll cover those in an upcoming video as there are def a lot of digital nomads here!
Is it possible to work as a chef in Thailand ?, like in hotels, restaurants as a person from the western world
Yes definitely. There are plenty of international chefs here!
@@thebangkokguide what websites do Thai people use to search for jobs there?
Indeed.com is quite popular for Thai jobs as well.
❤
My skill set is behavioral health. Multiple degrees in psychology. What are my options?
Education is probably your best bet there… international schools have a lot of positions.
Hey, do you know if it’s difficult to find other European language teaching jobs in Thailand and how the salaries differ?
Salaries would normally be lower… but if your a properly qualified teacher there are language teachers at international schools, and there are also French and German international schools.
Nice!
Thank you!

It depends on your education, experience and skills. There are plenty of good professional jobs but the job market is competitive!
I live in the UK never applied for a visa or have any knowledge on working abroad. How possible is it I could get work over in thailand?

Data scientist might be a bit more difficult as there are more Thai people that can do this job. I would recommend taking a look on indeed.com
How about IT jobs? Can I get a job as a software developer well paid?
You can find jobs but it needs to be fairly specialized as it has to be a job that a Thai person can’t do.
Most of the listings for software are in English so there's your answer.

It can be a bit difficult for more technical skills as many of those jobs are protected.
@ I don’t want to work as technician I just want any job customer service translator from Arabic to English cabin crew

I call bullshit on your international school salary. I have a friend who does recruitment in BKK. Nowhere near 100k bro...... 60K baht max.
