Ah, Carole… He’s a heroic, fearless, undaunted, determined, daredevil, lionhearted… need I say more?? Even IF he’s not as young as he was, he’s more going for him that many a young man. Bless him!

Adrian, I take my hat off to you for your sheer willpower in starting a difficult job, maintaining a good relationship with yourself while doing it, and then completing that job in a very professional way. Then you go about asking Carole what would she like for you to do next. You have to be a remarkable husband and I’m sure she is so happy that you belong to her. She, by the way, is a wonderful wife for you to have too. Hugs to you both from Oklahoma City-Candice 🇺🇸😊🇺🇸
Adrian is a man to be adored and praised. ❤ My husband is wonderful, but he holds no candle to him when it comes to handiwork and patience. You are blessed to have him, Carole. 😊
Every Wednesday and Sunday I look forward to your restoration videos of your beautiful home. The love for your chateau comes through in everything you do which keeps me watching. Thank you!
In the 90’s I worked on a remodel of my then Boyfriends home..5 years we worked. He never wanted to get married, I of course did. His failure to commit and infidelity led to our break up. With in 6 months he was in a new relationship & his new gal got to move in and enjoy all my hard work. My only solace he was just as unfaithful and deceitful with her ...as he was with me, sadly. This is why I enjoy your team work together , so much ...your love ,commitment and true respect of each other is just wonderful to see.. Thank you for sharing with all of us ❤❤❤❤
"Finding the strength..." I re-built aN old, abandoned 50' sailboat that was 16' wide. It involved laying on my back with a trowl, (dripping fiberglass in my eyes/clothes) for weeks - trowling a mixture - upside down!!! An crippled old man( who had just sailed solo from S. America) would come by watching my discouragement. He'd constantly remind me, with his halting speaking, "Just...one...step...at...a...time..." I began to see, not A TASK SIMILAR TO paving a street (upside down), but ONLY the next step. I completed the boat by doing ONLY THE NEXT STEP! That was manageable. Fiberglassing the WHOLE BOAT WASN'T MANAGEABLE.
Carol, With your vision you have such an eye, such a touch, such perseverance and determination. The hall, the arches, decorative trim, etc. will be transfored into another place of beauty like the salon and the dining room by your talent and abilities. Well done !
I just love your hallway with the beautiful arches and ending up at your sweeping staircase. It will be so very impressive when all done. Your chateau has such amazing features unlike any of the others which I’m addicted to! Such a find and the two of you are such dedicated workers with the details.🥰🇨🇦
Carole....what a job you are doing...well done and admire hour tenacity!! The hallway is going to be bright and stunning! I am so impressed with your work ethics on doing jobs correctly. The floors in the chateau will last another few hundred years after all that Adrianne is doing!! Very impressed!
We painted our ceilings a pale color of the walls and picked the fancy plasterwork in white, it really makes the ceilings pop. I can picture a huge mirror that echoes the arches on that back hallway wall.
Out of all the chateau renovations I’ve watched yours is by far the best! You are so thorough and not just masking the problems that arise! The chateau and grounds are beautiful! I really enjoy watching the progress! You two are so darling together!❤
Your talents muster through to get the job done Adrian. So admirable. I'm having a glass or 2 (bottle ?? 😳) to cheer you on ! See you Wednesday...Cheers🍷🍷
If words alone could help give you the spirit to carry on and be undaunted I would use everyone. I’ve not the power, I can only tell you how amazed and respect your fortitude. Bravo!
Adrian the word that comes to mind is fearless. The hearts of most people would quail at the scale of the dismantling and destruction you confront with these floors. You just rip into it. 🇦🇺👍
Every week I am absolutely astonished by the skills you both have, never mind the insane work ethic. 13:32 Adrian, you are a craftsman extraordinaire!!!! Carole, can’t wait to see the final decisions you make for the hall. It will be beautiful. The bones are so lovely.
Great that Adrian takes time to clear his head and have some fun. The mountain e-bike looks amazing. I’d have liked some GoPro footage of your surroundings and going through that mud! By the look of the bike, I can only imagine how you are covered in mud! 😂 I’ve just given away my e-bike because I was knocked down by a car crossing a separated bike path! Sore knee. My two bottles of wine in the pannier survived too! Phew! But the incident scared this 74 year old. Brisbane east does not have very good cycle paths that adjoin the excellent cycle infrastructure in the rest of the city. So, it’s ferry for me now.
It is great that you are both wearing masks for these jobs. It's really amazing how much accumulated dirt there is under those floorboards. Take a day off once in awhile! The hall will be lovely.❤
What a transformation already, banishing dinghy for light and elegant. A lot of hard work but you'll walk this hallway multiple times every day in the coming years - hopefully with a little jolt of well deserved smug satisfaction every time!
Carole I don’t know how you and Adrian keep the motivation up to start each job from scratch but then I contradict myself because I DO know! You both love creating the beauty that you end up with as much as we love watching the process. The explanation you gave on the floorboard nails Adrian, was very enlightening and that’s what I enjoy hearing about not just the finished job. That’s why we are addicted to DIY Chateaux to enjoy the improvements vicariously. Adrian, I find it amazing that as tired as you are working on the Chateau you are still doing all your running and biking etc. I found it so funny looking at all the mud sprays on the bike and seat and wondered what you looked like too with having no mudguards on the bike?!😂👏🥰
I like the cucumber rack Carole, its a better one than those who you can buy. The hallway is becoming more lighter because of the paint. Adrian the job is tof with the beams and after you are ready with them, you even can't see them anymore.... After work you need some relaxation and the bike helps you with that. Good buy.
Splendid work on the hallway. Everything about the hallway is going to be incredible. I am looking forward to seeing where the horse lamp will be going and the look it will have in that long space. I do love the garden and how everything is coming along. I have almost caught up to today - after almost 7 weeks and I absolutely look forward to the work and fun you have with every video. Thank you Beth for putting all of this together. I thoroughly enjoy every video.
I’m glad you take the time to get out and have some fun and good exercise, not that renovating a chateau isn’t exercise! The hallway is looking so much better, but it’s a lot of work in a more confined space. Be well and looking forward to your next video. xx
It seems to me that the floors are the hardest job to do because it involves support of the structure and foundation of the building and also while working on them it stop some of the work on that area . But it is a very important job to do in order to be able to do the rest of the restoration of the room. It is a monumental task this restoration! May God give you both strength each day to accomplish one more step of the journey to restore Chateau de la Ferte.
I have a E-Mountain bike also. Just love it! Mine has 10 levels of assist. A little help… or no effort needed 🙃🚵♀️ So glad you got one! I bet you’ll really enjoy it. And I love 💕 the color in the entrance hall. It going to look gorgeous! 👍✨
Wow, the hallway is stunning, looking forward to seeing this Chateau completed. Though I was hoping you'd sand down and leave the wooden archways unpainted, it is turning out wonderfully. I admit I'm a bit jealous, I love doing projects like these.
Happy mothers day you two are both such hard workers you are inspiring for all of us step back and enjoy and be proud of what the two of you accomplished it's so exciting !😀😍
The hall is coming along beautifully and I do like the colour you have chosen. Thar bike could do with a mud guard Adrian or you are going to be a very muddy wreck when it rains when you get to your destination ha ha. Enjoy your bike, I love cycling. Have a lovely day.
Very tricky heavy work. Maybe u can cut off the old wormy part Adrian and save it for work in the barns or garden plots!! I'm sure u have dozens if ideas for reuse!! Carole is so busy too. Great the floor is mostly done. Live the Blue paint Carole!!! Adrian. Wow. Carole can use it too. Electric. I want one also!! Fat tire bike. Nice comfort@!! Good for U Adrian!!🚵🚵♀️
If anyone can d😊 this it’s both of you. When you feel like giving up, just walk into the parlor and letting inspire you that you can do anything!! I can’t imagine going from the parlor floor to taking this on. You’re probably mentally and physically exhausted. Give yourself a breather, and know that you can work through this very slowly.
You are both amazing, I can't even paint and you are doing it all yourselves. This would take a massive team to do. Keep going it will all be worth it.
I‘m not sure if someone allready mentioned it but I think your cucumbers where bend so strongly because you should take away every other flower of the plant because they often can‘t provide enough water and nutrients for so many fruits.
You can do it! Look what you've accomplished to this point! It has been a heroic effort and fantastic progress with beautiful outcomes. It would be so nice if you got some help and rest though. N'est pas? Yes, the exercise on the bike was an excellent way to unwind as well!
A lot of work has been done. Impressive. That is the kind of bike I needed in my younger years 😂 I simply used my 10 speed bike for any terrain I could handle with it. I used to bike up Blue Mountain on my favourite scenic road. Turn around and not have to peddle or stop. All down hill. Was an awesome rush. Oh to be young again with that kind of Energy. 🙂 Happy Biking ! Love the blue you chose, lovely shade❤
Nice bike Adrian. Carole, the arch and ceiling are really looking great. Once Adrian finishes the wiring and flooring (in the next 2 weeks), the hallway will make quite a first impression. I can't wait to see how you stage it. I know it will be a "Wow".
Love the colors in the hall and so much amazing work happening! It's good you are getting out for a ride - AND I love the bike! It sounds like from your description, it can haul ass!! Looks like a small fender front and back to keep the mud down. 😎😎
Nice bike. My husband is in the process of getting a new for him ebike to replace the one he has, which I will make use of for a few more years. My trips aren't as long as his ones to work. We cycled the Lake Dunstan trail (Central Otago New Zealand) recently and he really enjoyed it so I hope that means we will do some more in the future.
PG Tips lots of progress I see loving the hall . Floor coming along so is Adrian 😂😂😂 love the bike looks so good . The garden veg lots of variety . Don’t over do it u two 😂😂😂😅😅😅👏👏👏👏

Adrian looks to me like it's a good thing you are replacing the floor joints in the great hall as it probably gets alot of wear and tear with family & guest coming in and out all the time. Stay safe and carry on. Hugs, Kathy 🇺🇸
That packaging is thick enough to use for insulation. LOL. Carole, I buy disposable shower caps for DIY work. They are thinner so they aren't as hot but I do cut random spots in it to help let out the heat before I put it on. Otherwise it's like a constant massive hot flash.
Wow what a transformation and process. Nothing deters you two! Very inspiring but I could never undertake what you do so I'll leave it at great admiration. 😍 ahahahaha nice bad boy and bike is nice too! 😉
Ah, Carole… He’s a heroic, fearless, undaunted, determined, daredevil, lionhearted… need I say more?? Even IF he’s not as young as he was, he’s more going for him that many a young man. Bless him!
Well said!!!
Could not agree more.
He's the strongest man I know for sure! And he's all mine!!!! 😄 Cx

Lovely to see the hallway ceiling and walls looking cleaner. Brighter as you say, and far more cheerful. The floor will be fabulous too.
I'm always so impressed with both of you and your skills. If it were me, I would be so appreciative of Adrians flooring skills. Wow.
Out of all the chateau renovations I’ve watched yours is by far the best! You are so thorough and not just masking the problems that arise! The chateau and grounds are beautiful! I really enjoy watching the progress! You two are so darling together!❤

Thanks Kate 😊
Oh my gracious what a job!!! The floor and the walls are a great deal of work!!! It’s coming along so well!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nice bike! Adrian is such an amazing flooring expert. This hallway is going to look great. You'll get there.
Glad you got some fun in on your fabulous new bike!!❤
Will never get over what amazing hard workers you are.

That’s a shame with the accident. We are lucky to have minimal traffic here and the muddy lanes go on for miles
It is great that you are both wearing masks for these jobs. It's really amazing how much accumulated dirt there is under those floorboards. Take a day off once in awhile! The hall will be lovely.❤

I love eggshell finish.

Excited to see the cucumbers go up the great frame, and the rest of the plants grow 😊
I’m glad you take a break from the hardwork with the new bike it looks like so much fun especially around rural France

Boys will be boys.....Adrian certainly got the bike all dirty in a jiffy!
😂😂😂
You both deserve every good fortune that comes your way. You both work so incredibly hard. 👏👏👏👍
Great idea for the cucumbers! Wow, what a bike!
Good to see u Adrian, my goodness ur such a hard worker@!
I think it would be lovely to have a Trompe-l'œil on the ceiling. Since you want blue or grey maybe of clouds?
Love Adrian’s systematic diligence! Especially in time lapse😊 goes from ugg to WOW! Inspiring!
Thank you 😊
I have a E-Mountain bike also. Just love it! Mine has 10 levels of assist. A little help… or no effort needed 🙃🚵♀️ So glad you got one! I bet you’ll really enjoy it.
And I love 💕 the color in the entrance hall. It going to look gorgeous! 👍✨
This channel does lift my spirits in many ways.
u really are a work horse adrian those nails are maddening. hi carole your work is stupendous as well. this site is a joy to watch. thanks
I love wallpaper, but I must say I am loving the Hallway with just paint, Carol. I am sure you have great ideas for this area ❤😊
EXCELLENT idea for framing the cucumbers. Well done Carole. Enjoying you in Mexico City.
thanks for the vlogs, you are such dedicated chateau owners.
Wow, the hallway is stunning, looking forward to seeing this Chateau completed. Though I was hoping you'd sand down and leave the wooden archways unpainted, it is turning out wonderfully. I admit I'm a bit jealous, I love doing projects like these.
Not all the arch is wood
Happy mothers day you two are both such hard workers you are inspiring for all of us step back and enjoy and be proud of what the two of you accomplished it's so exciting !😀😍
Aww yes blue was correct right choice 😊
Great job on the floors and hallway walls/ceilings. Love the blue color. Enjoy your new bike. What a great way to see the countryside 😍😘
OMG how much hard work! I continue to think you both are super😊
Love the bike at last a treat for you
The hall is coming along beautifully and I do like the colour you have chosen. Thar bike could do with a mud guard Adrian or you are going to be a very muddy wreck when it rains when you get to your destination ha ha. Enjoy your bike, I love cycling. Have a lovely day.
Omg. My heart when you were walking backwards filming....😮
...C & A....great job on all of the hallway repairs...and nice Cyrusher bike!...💖👍
Limewash would look lovely down the hallway and up the staircase. The floor will be terrific when he is done.
Tough work you are both doing at the moment. As Dory would say, ‘Just keep swimming’ xx Kelly
I’m making my cucumber trellis very similar to yours. Happy gardening.
Old paint, gray paint in the hallway- assume Lead… be careful
Wear a good bike helmet… baskets would help to carry shopping items
Orange you glad to see me? Love the bike - good on you for getting it for tours around the village!

Carole I love the eggshell paint colour, the hall’s going to be gorgeous when you have finished with it. 🎨❤️
Nice progress on the floor. Great idea for the cucumbers. Very nice bike. Blessings.
Great job on getting out those wood beams. We love our e-bikes. ❤
I znów tyle pracy zrobionej rower -bajeczka super 🚴🤩
The hallway is beginning to come together so nicely. Excited to see what's next.
We agree about multi tool..could be a fire starter..
You both are amazing an absolute treat to watch.
You are both amazing, I can't even paint and you are doing it all yourselves. This would take a massive team to do. Keep going it will all be worth it.

I’m at home watching Ben Hur and these people are ripping up floors 💖💖💖👍👍👍💖💖💖
You're an amazing man,you seem to do the work of several men.
You can do it! Look what you've accomplished to this point! It has been a heroic effort and fantastic progress with beautiful outcomes. It would be so nice if you got some help and rest though. N'est pas? Yes, the exercise on the bike was an excellent way to unwind as well!
Hi you wonderful people. 😂 The hall is coming on very well. It looks good, and not even talking g about those floors. Good job Adrian👌👌👌
Happy Biking !
Good morning, Carole. I do believe a light blue is the color for the walls with white. I am very eager to see wallpaper samples.
Adrian, nice floor joist solution. Carole, the one arch is already looking much better.
Love the colors in the hall and so much amazing work happening! It's good you are getting out for a ride - AND I love the bike! It sounds like from your description, it can haul ass!! Looks like a small fender front and back to keep the mud down. 😎😎
My husband bought me my electric bike for birthday/Christmas. LOVE it, I live in the mountains so this allows me to ride where I could not before
That’s what it’s all about! 👍
Another excellent video! Thank you for sharing.
Don’t over do it u two 😂😂😂😅😅😅👏👏👏👏
You two are real troopers! Love watching your journey. Keep up the good work! 💪🏻👩🏻🌾🍅🥒🪚
the blue and white will be stunning....you can always paper later...the paint highlights the vaulting!
Massive progress on the hallway. Certainly a lot brighter that what it was before
I had to take up some decking and had the same issues with the multi tool not being useful ( didn't think about the fire danger 😮) We wound up using a jumbo crow bar...basically did the same as you. After all that grubbing I am glad you got to feel th wind in your hair (metaphorically).
Happy Mother’s Day, Carole! 🇺🇸
Adrian loves his bike 😂 I would’ve bought the blue one 😉
Great progress on the hallway ❤ The clean has already brightened the area ❤❤
Adrian looks to me like it's a good thing you are replacing the floor joints in the great hall as it probably gets alot of wear and tear with family & guest coming in and out all the time. Stay safe and carry on. Hugs, Kathy 🇺🇸
Hallway is looking great!!! Can’t wait to see the end result
Great video, thanks!
When ever I noticed slugs I put a saucer of beer out and the slugs blow up!! Works wonderfully. Give it a try
I truly enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.
That packaging is thick enough to use for insulation. LOL. Carole, I buy disposable shower caps for DIY work. They are thinner so they aren't as hot but I do cut random spots in it to help let out the heat before I put it on. Otherwise it's like a constant massive hot flash.
I steal them from hotels 😂
Wow what a transformation and process. Nothing deters you two! Very inspiring but I could never undertake what you do so I'll leave it at great admiration. 😍 ahahahaha nice bad boy and bike is nice too! 😉
😂😂😂
The hallway is coming along nicely. As awesome as that ebike is, it needs fenders. 👍👍👍👍👍
