The best Akai channel - I know in 2023 Akai will get you products complimentary...Akai must be watching you. Great production quality value and execution plus keeping it absolutely real.....Akai please re-load the UK with more Live 2 OG colourways - we have zero here ATM. The best Akai channel.
Yo, this really means a lot and thank you so much for taking the time to share this input. We do it for the love of the art, and to build these relationships with one another. I’m extremely grateful to have people like you in this channel sharing the love. Blessings, brother. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I said the same!! Akai should hire him💎👌 and stop wasting there time & $$$ doing lame boring tutorials that don't explain sh!t When U buy an MPC ,they should put a nice golden card in the box with MALO BEATS info !!!!
I just want to compliment you on your thumbnails. They always make the retro really pop, and are high quality images. Also it’s never your face with your mouth open and eyes wide, like so many other people. 👍
This right here hit deep hahah I love the mention about the open mouth face shot hahahah I see it way too much now days and there now way I would ever be able to do it hahaha. Thank you so much for appreciate the photography art and details. Much love and blessings 🍻
Yo thanks for these recents dives you’ve been doing on the MPC. I got a Live 2 and it’s nice to watch these one off videos discussing an aspect of it rather than losing myself in long tutorial. There’s just so much to learn. I’m not complaining. nice to see someone giving off a sense of “Try this bro” rather than feeling like I’m sitting watching a tutorial.
It seems like Akai noticed how many of us paired the SP-404MK2 with the MPC, and they wanted to make sure that we can get everything we need from the Live lol! I have a strong love making beats and rocking out on my MK2, but it's refreshing especially from Dawless producer like myself, to cut on the MPC Live 2, and get all the Lofi goodies I need!! Love the content my brother, God bless and keep shining!🙏🏾✊🏾💚
You could not have mentioned it any better, and I forgot to add that in this video. This is definitely worth it for people like us, standalone, producers, that don’t really tap into our computers as much. I love how we’re able to use some of these plug-ins and standalone mode. I still love my 404 and it definitely has a lot of advantages with sound effects over the MPC but vinyl simulation itself was one of my favorite sound effects in the 404 and I love having it now in the MPC.
Man…. Malo … I can’t tell you enough how your channel has made me perceive sequencing, on the spot mixing, chopping records. I watch you religiously. I’m a singer songwriter, and I found records and a friends mpc. I find all your shit useful
I was looking forward to your take on Air Flavor Pro and figured you would enjoy it. I love the texture that it adds that you can put on the master channel or other channels. Gets me closer to the sound I love hearing out of my MPC3000.
Really love the Air Flavor Pro. So easy to throw on the master channel or to just spice and dirty up a loop or sample. I just put my SP-404 SX on sale lol.
I agree 100%. I feel like akai little by little is dialing in the sounds that I’m looking for so keeps me working within the box. So far I’m loving this plug.
Yeah man, I forgot to mention that in this video, but I think this is very powerful for someone that is completely standalone but if you have your DAW, I think you could find some great options with third-party plug-ins. Again, for someone that is completely standalone. This is a no-brainer for me and I’m loving it.
They’re definitely onto something and I’m so glad that these machines keep getting updates as time goes on. The S950 could be emulated very close with some of the settings here which is pretty awesome.
2:56 I just got my MPC Live 2 last month, and I literally watched this video just to figure out how to engage AFP 😂😂😂 I appreciate the videos, they’ve been mad helpful and inspiring 🫡🫡
As you say, did i need this plug-in ? I don't know yet. I wil begin to work with Air Flavor and Air Amp, and some filter. But the advantage i see in air flavor pro, is that you get lot of parameters in one insert effect. That's smart from Akai. And I've one question. As you own a MPC one, does Air flavor Pro is ok on MPC one, doesn' it use lot orf resources and slo the MPC ? Thanks for this video, and take care !
Thank you for this review Malo! You just sold this plugin to me even thought i own 404mk2. Power of mpc one is that we aleays can go back to the mix and make some small changes. Btw. Both beats are dope. Second one sounds like some older Madlib work👏👏👏
Have you compared this to any outboard gear like analog heat+fx or chroma console, I know they are different into terms of their purpose, but I feel like I have also really used the air flavor pro as a final master fx and it really adds a the perfect compression and Lofi that I really love, but a lot of my outboard gear I was looking for a real peice of gear that is always kind of on especially for my drum beats ..
Nice overview. When Air Flavor Pro came out it was instant love. I’ve been using it to spice up so many different things now. It’s great to finally have this on the MPC and all the routing flexibility. I’m not desiring a Chase Bliss Generation Loss that much now 😜 We’ll maybe not that much 😝
This sounds so good man, gonna try that out! You compared it to the 404 but would you also say it could replace your analog heat? Especially the on/off on the 2nd beat really felt like it was close, if I remember correctly you used that beat in the analog heat video too as an on/off comparison. Thank you for creating such amazing content!
This is such a great observation, and absolutely, I think, having external processing gear is always a bonus, and can enhance the sound, but at this point, I feel these plug-ins are good enough to stand on their own
Been on the fence on buying Air Flavour Pro or add an SP404 MK2 to my MPC One. This video convinced me to go with Air Flavour Pro since I can use it on my master or on individual tracks as an sound Design tool with only the fraction of the cost of an SP 404. But the Analog Heat ist still something that fascinates me, although it might not be needed when you have Air Flavour Pro 🤔?!?!
Bro, most of youtube beatmakers make wack beat, even more when they have an ultra clean setup; it is not your case, your beats are FIRE, drop a beat tape, please...
It’s a pretty significant upgrade in my opinion. Air flavor was great but it did not give you much flexibility if you wanted to dial in a specific sound. I still use air flavor for a lot of my instruments, but it did not really work out as good in my master bus, but now with air flavor pro, it’s been even better than what I expected. I just put together a great master signal chain that works for most of my beats, adding some grimy texture to my overall sound that I really like.
@@malobeats thanks so much for taking the time to reply with your thoughts, much appreciated! I was already leaning towards getting the pro version but now I'm sold from this video. Thanks again!!
That plugin is a nice addition, but in your comparison I think you're falling into the trap of thinking you're hearing something "better" because it's louder. You really need to match the before/after gain, or match the LUFs, in order to really hear what the plugin is doing. On the other hand, if it sounds good then whatever.
It’s also funny when you say not all your beats you put through a vinyl sim. My last sample definitely felt this i spent hours trying to REDUCE the vinyl crackle not add to it😂 peace
My Only Problem Is... CHRISTMAS CAME TOO EARLY. I Finally Feel Completed... I Agree With Everything You Said but I Would Strongly Recommend to Add IZOTOPE'S OZONE 10 ADVANCE To Your Final Master Tree and There Would Be No Way Possible Way To Improve A Final Cut After That. But Of Course That's Done In A DAW... SO AKAI Has KNOCKED THIS WAYEEEE OUTTAH THE BALLPARK 😁
Man, I actually have izotope and love it. I should have mentioned this in the video, but I think this one is a no-brainer for those that don’t use their DHW. Just the fact that they’re adding these plug-ins. It’s very impressive. At this point, I’m pretty confidence to finish an entire beat and standalone.
Yeah, I know a few people that have been hesitant to updating. I’ve had no issues from my end but my workflow is extremely simple so I can’t say much in regards it’s complexity. I have not ran into any bugs yet. What version are you on at the moment?
@@dzerobeatz I was hesitant to update but I went through with it anyway, and I’m glad I did cause I noticed the splice issue was finally fixed. i can finally audition the new samples again
@@tracksbyzero Oh nice! I don't use splice and the reason I rolled back was a manual chop bug along with a slower overall experience. Did you purchase air flavor? I own an SP404MK2 so im not sure what I would gain other than making my SP collect dust except for performing live. Do you find it worth it?
@@dzerobeatz I’m in the same boat! I just got my sp404mk2 recently and I’m debating whether or not to purchase. I downloaded the free trail a few days ago and still haven’t really touched it. I think I am gonna get it eventually so that I don’t have to bring my sp with me when I travel. But if I do end up getting it I’m most likely gonna use the sp as my master chain cause I think it still sounds superior
That was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this lol can I put this on my master for some good grimy textures. Definitely over exceeds my expectations.
Thanks for the video Malo, great breakdown of what’s possible with this new effect. For me this is probably the route I will take as I was looking into getting an SP 404 for the effects alone, but I think I rather try this first before committing to the SP 404 price. 🫡

Thx Malo. Have you done a dive into each of the parts of the plugin and your mindset when dialing each in?
