Yooo I was also screaming “where’s the lime?!” When he started cutting up the rest of the garnishes. The lime really does bring all the flavors out, i was so happy when he busted out the lime
Just a tip incase you decide to make this again: Take the stems off the dried chilies and take out the seeds BEFORE you add the hot water! Also, your pozole looks really good!
Thank you so much for this comment! I made Pozole for dinner tonight and taking the stems and seeds out before soaking was a GAME CHANGER!!! It also made it less spicy which is good too!
They did in my city but ever since a new Hispanic grocery store opened up here, it seems they’ve been taken off the shelves in other stores? Interesting lol.
As a mexican, that looks amazing !! (I was a little worried at first ngl) Some pro-tips to enjoy future pozoles: tostadas have more flavor than tortillas, lettuce is better than cabbage imo, and you can add a little oregano at the end or some chili powder (to your bowl) to add more flavor (as you did with lime, it's so good right?), and if you can handle it... add MORE chile/adobo to the soup oh yeah
Hi Julien! I’m a college student and work part time so I struggle to cook something all the time and just meal plan in general. Could you do a series on easy meals you can make to meal plan? I think it would be interesting! (If anyone seeing this could like so maybe he can see?? Thank you!!)
Valeria Torres Hi!! You might like the series “struggle meals” on Snapchat. As a college student myself I find it really informative on how to make cheap and easy meals and how to meal plan for the week!
I always cook two recipes in big batches for a few weeks and then I just freeze it. This week I did tikka masala and (traditional) Bolognese sauce. All you have to do take it out the freezer in the morning/afternoon & boil your rice or pasta when your ready to eat. Oh and heat up the sauce.😅
Julien: I couldn't recommend making your own tortillas enough. me, mexican with a big family being forced to make over a dozen tortillas multiple times a year: I'll pass on this one fam
Also a Mexican here ☺️ it absolutely warms my heart and makes me emotional to see people trying a food that I have grown up with and love dearly make it and experience the new flavors for the first time Julien you did this absolutely beautifully and respectfully and it looks delicious!!
¡Hola! this is me! Exactly. My husband and I have been married for over twenty years and every time I bring over a dish my grandma really likes, she says it.
I love hominy so much that when I was growing up (and even now as an adult) when my mom would make Menudo she would serve me literally only hominy, no meat (mainly bc the meat always freaked me out texture wise.) Hominy is so delicious and underrated
I wanna make this so bad 😭 my mom hasn’t made me pozole in like 7 years because she didn’t think that it would be that good without the caldo de pollo but I hope we can make this together! Just a few notes: you can also add oregano as a side dish. We use dried oregano, it adds a whole lot of flavor. We also eat it with Tostadas instead of tortillas just because they’re crunchy and are a nice contrast, they’re gluten free and are just like tortillas but crunchy! When you make tortillas you should consider adding a little bit of olive oil. It helps the masa come together a whole lot better. When you cook them you want to make sure they they inflate like a balloon, I didn’t see this happen with you’re, probably because the clip was short, but something that can help with that is making the tortillas thinner. My mom probably does 2/3 of the masa that you used to make the balls and then presses it well. You want to be able to see the light through them but they shouldn’t be transparent. This will make the tortillas really nice and soft and a good way to know that you made them right is that when you fold them, they don’t crack/split. They stay whole until you tear them!
When he made homemade tortillas in one of his last videos he did make sure it inflated like a balloom, he probably just cut that out in this video :) but we also eat it with tostadas/tortilla chips

Julen needs to heart this. He needs to heart this right now!!
We, the Mexican fans, are proud of what you just did
Saludos desde México :3
Saludos de guanajuato mexico
The love that you’re getting in this comment section is a true ode to your character Julien!
I just had some last night, Julian is now Julián
Se iso 5%mexicano! Now he needs to make tamales.
Yooo I was also screaming “where’s the lime?!” When he started cutting up the rest of the garnishes. The lime really does bring all the flavors out, i was so happy when he busted out the lime
SAME!!!! I WAS LIKE WAITTTTTTT
Jenna in 2019: "Julien, you should make more soups!"
Glad Julien delivers.
That's what friends do.
This should be like a theme, trying to make international dishes
Kate Carroll yessss would love to see him try to make Arabic food
yehh persian stews and rice with tahdig - would love to see
The fact that Julien isn’t afraid to make food from other cultures!
I’m glad you did it to ‘em Julien!!!!!!! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Julien: we’re gonna open up this GIANT can of hominy
Me: I thought that was the only size? 👀👀 I didn’t know it came in a smaller😂
Cristian Jim lol. They do but it’s like 1/4 the size.
Same tho, i didnt even know they had a smaller size
i seriously don't know what they would use the smaller can for. Not pozole!! 😂😂😂
They did in my city but ever since a new Hispanic grocery store opened up here, it seems they’ve been taken off the shelves in other stores? Interesting lol.
I guess one of the suggestions Julien is gonna call in
As a mexican, that looks amazing !! (I was a little worried at first ngl)
Some pro-tips to enjoy future pozoles: tostadas have more flavor than tortillas, lettuce is better than cabbage imo, and you can add a little oregano at the end or some chili powder (to your bowl) to add more flavor (as you did with lime, it's so good right?), and if you can handle it... add MORE chile/adobo to the soup oh yeah
I showed this video to my mom, and she loved it. Te manda las bendiciones Julien

I always enjoyed the content of the green brothers... aka Pro Home Cooks th-cam.com/video/-ZMevpv7T2s/w-d-xo.html
@@rebekkiej this is a perfect tip.
Lucy Bleu Struggle meals is also on youtube!
I’m so happy he added the lime I was so sad thinking they weren’t gonna have lime lol
Ari Ruiz same!!!
Julien: I couldn't recommend making your own tortillas enough.
me, mexican with a big family being forced to make over a dozen tortillas multiple times a year: I'll pass on this one fam
I thought he wasn’t gonna add lime and almost had a heart attack
Also making Tamales is the next level step lmao
Ivon he should definitely make tamales. That’s always fun to make 😂
YES
Omg yes I was like LIME Julien! Lol
Me watching this with my Mexican mom:
“he should invite me so I could taste it”
Brenda Hernandez pues que me invite para probarlo 😂 I heard that in my head
Julien: "What's the worst that can happen?"
Also Julien: "I'm making Minecraft lava cake."
Also a Mexican here ☺️ it absolutely warms my heart and makes me emotional to see people trying a food that I have grown up with and love dearly make it and experience the new flavors for the first time Julien you did this absolutely beautifully and respectfully and it looks delicious!!
Jenna: *grows up eating nothing but her dad's bean soup *
Also Jenna: I am a soup CONNOISSEUR
Julien: “what’s the worst that can happen”
Me: you become addicted to it because it’s so good
As my grandmother would say, "Now you can get married." lol
maddwitch ¡Ya te puedes casar!
No es igual en inglés :c jajaja
Eliani Sanchez cómo?
¡YA TE PUEDES CASAR!
¡Hola! this is me! Exactly. My husband and I have been married for over twenty years and every time I bring over a dish my grandma really likes, she says it.
Julien: corn is the worst. I hate corn.
Also julien: *eats corn from the can like Jason*
I love hominy so much that when I was growing up (and even now as an adult) when my mom would make Menudo she would serve me literally only hominy, no meat (mainly bc the meat always freaked me out texture wise.) Hominy is so delicious and underrated
Llama__ 96 i’m the same way with posole too 😂😂😂 i mostly just eat the broth and hominy 😂
The meat in menudo is wierd though so completely understandable. Now as an adult I enjoy it more lol. JULIEN MAKE MENUDO NEXT PLEASE
Alana Benitez i do the same thing!!!!
Me too! I only ever serve myself the granos & i put a bunch of lemon
I’m the same way with pozole and menudo, even as a 22 year old I only eat the hominy and maybeeeee a few pieces of meat
Yess!! Tostadas!! I was literally gonna comment this!!
Another tip: When taking the seeds out of the peppers, you take them out when the pepper is dry
Wholesome advice ty ur a pal :)
Any recipe that calls for meat:
