Spektrum iX12 new features and my airware update routine

On this video I show the quick change model menu and the new deep sleep algorithm from the April 2018 airware update. I also will show my airware update routine performing a super easy all model backup before initiating the update.

You don't need to backup all your models when you update an app.
If there was a new firmware available (new android image) then, yes I could understand it, but then it's not a good place to store them on the device itself anyways. It probably wouldn't overwrite them, but to be 100% certain, you should save them to a memorycard.
The Spektrum logo glows if the radio is on. You don't have to wait for android to boot before you can use the radio, after a cold boot, you can controll your heli/plane/quad while android boots.

No need for a cell phone inside a transmitter. Huge mistake by Spectrum.

This was a helpful supplement to Spektrum's instructional videos. It should probably be added to them, in my opinion.

Very good video - thanks! I'm still on the DX9 (and i love it). But this iX12 keeps gettin' better and better. This is the first generation Android radio from Spektrum and i will follow the radios further updates. I cant afford it right bow and i might wait for the next version android radio from Spektrum. Maybe the speaker will be louder and maybe the screen will be made of glass and have a response to touch input like my Huawei phone. But sure a very nice radio - but out of my range when it comes to the price. Thanks for heads up on updates.

Great review. I wanted the iX12 but got the Futaba T16SZ as i needed more than 12 channels.

Thats a good radio. Spektrum has the DX20 and DX18. However they are not the android platform like the iX12.
