Not going to lie every Christmas when I was little my mother would sing me this as a lullaby since I was a huge rail fanatic by age six I could operate most steam engines better than the engineer.

It's not Christmas without Lionel trains circling the tree, or at my house, behind the tree and then creating a tripping hazard all around the rest of the living room...and once, the kitchen, too.
It's a better cover than Joe Nichols' cover, I think. Still, I like Roger Miller's the best. And Roger wrote it as "Little toy trains ....." Not "Old toy trains....."
Oh. Funny that I have a copy in which Roger sings "Little toy trains ...". And who would give their kid an old toy train for Christmas anyways? Unless it was an antique. Does not really matter, though. It is a beautiful song.
