This is such a good video. Simultaneously awfully presented and insanely engaging. He's got this strange persona which is insanely self deprecating and self doubting but then also strangely arrogant in places? He's the most engaging enigma in this whole industry haha. Absolutely love his stuff
From what I understand of the guy, it’s crippling anxiety and massive imposter syndrome thinly masked by attempts to mitigate that via brags about stuff he’s done.
For someone that's done so much, he hasn't really done anything. Yet he doesn't realize that he's been out there having a life that most anyone would envy... He's got good friends, passion and an interesting way of talking/writing. Some just don't have any of those.
Fantastic PERFORMANCE by Tim. Been a big fan since he published an article on Kotaku about ‘sticky’ game physics and Mario. This is art. Tim please never stop creating.
I predict with confidence that the Tim Rogers “success” story is far from over. And I would pay good money that I earned at my dismal little job, for the opportunity to read any one of those “bad” novels.
@@G_Rez It's one of many things that he seems to be working on, but between the exhaustively excellent Action Button Reviews and Truck Heck, and especially Not Dying from the handful of ailments he usually suffers from, he has a lot on his plate. But whatever he releases I will gladly pay for.
I truly believe, that he wants to believe, that hes the man. He has some self worth/confidence issues, (that he mentions in other videos) that are firmly rooted in his childhood. I hope he gets his million dollars for TRUCKHECK and can truly create his visions!
Is this how Tim speaks in his everyday life? Ramble on about minute details from his past, and then repeat and paraphrase the same point over and over again in that monotonous, ponderous, hypnotic voice? Cuz I can't imagine what it must be like to be one of his friends or family members.
I’m sorry to be the one to break the news to you buddy... but many, many, many, many, many other human beings through out the annals of human history have said “first”.....
@@Puppy_Puppington I understand, pal. I probably should have commented “first person to say first in this comment section.” Thank you for reminding me, have a nice day.
Every time he says "I can't remember" or "I don't know," I know that's a lie for the convenience of the presentation. The man knows.
He may not see all, but he certainly forgets nothing
I read this comment in Tim‘s voice
me too!

his GDC talk about videoball is hysterical
Sociopathy is the word youre looking for. The dude has a perfect autobiographical memory. He just feigns ignorance as a strategy
@@awogbob rhetoric is now sociopathy

he just speaks about his time living and working in japan for sony during the ps1 era like it’s just some matter-of-fact. Like oh my god!!!
@@jadefae you've got this link? i sub on patreon and twitch, but i am not aware of it i guess.
It kind of hurts that I relate to this person. And not in a poetic, story-like way. No, it actually feels bad

Pretty sure one is being published next year
@@G_Rez are you crazy?
@@danfrancisjr pretty sure in one of his videos he says he has a novel being published in 2022. Can't remember which one at this point

this comment aged like fine wine
I love Tim Rogers so much. One of my favourite personalities in youtube
no one hates or loves tim rogers more than tim rogers
If he decided to talk for 1 hour about Ketchup I would listen
That was brilliant - thank you, Tim! Nice to get a glimpse of TRUCK HECK too. Cant wait!
Dang, it got real at the end. 😢
Amazing.
"I lost my visa, my job, fiance, and had to leave Japan" .. I had the same experience, word for word. I fucking hate Visa's
I can't imagine having to say goodbye to someone you were engaged to. Sounds awful.
Tim Rogers is the man. I'm trying to figure out if he knows he's the man or not... I think he does
I truly believe, that he wants to believe, that hes the man. He has some self worth/confidence issues, (that he mentions in other videos) that are firmly rooted in his childhood. I hope he gets his million dollars for TRUCKHECK and can truly create his visions!
Finally some news on truck heck! 2020’s almost over, Tim!
👀
How is no one laughing this is hilarious
I'd pay good money on Kickstarter to make 177X a real thing.
Welp, passed that halfway mark in January of 2019. What can ya do?
Tim is so hilarious and smart at the same time what a weird combination, in a good way i think is the "jim carry" for the video game industry
He hadn't realized yet that he needed to make a six hours out of every presentation.
but maybe he made a fun of it anyway
:)
GOD DAMN IT PATRICK
