Umineko No Naku Koro Ni, one of the most beloved and popular visual novels in the entire genre. After reading Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, I wonder what Ryukishi07 has in store for Umineko, in this psychological fantasy murder mystery visual novel
Today, you're going to get a taste of my Umineko Experience for the first time.
This will cover the second half of Umineko. Umineko: The Answer Arc, otherwise known as Umineko no naka ni Chiru

There’s actually some missing logic in Bernkastel’s puzzle. She says in red that Kanon is “Treated as killed” but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t killed. Shanon and Kannon being the same person is not properly defined in the vn, only implied. By the strict rules of the simple mystery game George could have killed Kannon. I’ll go one further, that means Marie could have killed Shannon, and any of their parents could have been the other killers.
I like how you can hear insane Akasaka in Battler's laughing. They're the same VA.
Ange's name is weird and it's unclear how to pronounce it. In Japanese it's "enje". Japanese doesn't have the soft A sound like in "apple" so the E could be a substitute. However it does have A as in "awful" so it definitely isn't pronounced with that like you've been doing because they would have used that character. The E at the start may be taken from "angel" (In japanese, the english word is enjeru) but it also seems to be made to mimic the name "Angie". It's wack.
Well the only confusing thing is, that the When They Cry wiki actually lists her name as エンジ as well as エンジエ.
So if one actually went into the japanese version of the novel and checked it, you'd be sure how to pronounce it I guess.
Either way the beginning of the name is clear. It sounds like the short a in apple and not like in awful or in angel.
The tricky thing is the latter part.
If エンジ is correct, it would be like jee in 'jeez', if the other one is correct it would be like je in 'jester'. You cant really make it out from the voice acting since everyone says it slightly different or rather as a mix of both.
Anyway, I think her name is definitely inspired by angel. Translating the a sound of angel into japanese would have sounded a bit weird, so thats prolly why they went with the short a

The name Ange stumbled me at first, because I kept saying her name in one syllable lol
@@dappershinx9234 @MV The correct spelling is エンジェ, it seems like the wiki just has a spelling mistake.
The romanized spelling is 'Enje', with the first and last vowels being the same sound (え). This sound is most similar to the 'e' in words such as 'end' and 'jet'. So, basically, to pronounce エンジェ, sound the 'en' from 'end' followed by the 'je' from 'jet'.
The reason the English translation displays her name as 'Ange' is because of some wordplay borrowed from the original Japanese text. The English word 'Angel' can be written in katakana as エンジェル, which when the last character is removed becomes エンジェ. This was carried over into the translation, where the last character of 'Angel' is removed to create 'Ange'.

Yeah it took me a whole day to solve but it was still so much fun.
In retrospect, it was actually kinda fun and way more streamlined thankfully. Felt more solvable haha
took me abt 2-3 hrs, i felt so dumb cuz some ppl didn't even need hints but it was one of the most fun i had the entire way through, alongside the rest of the episode 8
@@0neyetmany-0 I think I'd have solved it much faster if I wasn't too much of a paranoiac over what Bernkastel would do to Battler and Beatrice if I chose the wrong culprits T-T
That's only Part 1, I know, but still ... let's admit it ... Erika wearing a pirate hat, that was the COOLEST thing in All of Umineko!

@@BoyHedgehog Because the manga literally goes against everything the original Episode 8 tried to teach the reader? Because it goes full Erika-mode and shows the truth, even though whole message of Umineko is that the truth doesn't matter and that the cat box should never be opened for the sake of those inside it? Because the visual novel is perfect as is and doesn't need any additions or changes to the story? Is these three reasons enough, or should I name another few?
Something about how Bernkastel suddenly broke the fourth wall and challenged _me_ gave me chills back when I first read Umi.

Ah man, I've been really enjoying this return to Rokkenjima, and sad we're getting close to the end. I really enjoy your highlight choices, sharing your thoughts and theories, and enjoying all your first impressions. As soon as you got to Bern's game, I couldn't help it and started the game up again to try to rework through the logic all over again. Such a great game and story and series of videos. Keep up the good work and reviews! Slowly making my way through some of your other recommendations!
