He’s technically not super because he takes damage but if there was a real super edition mod it would break the game because of being invincible (except for drowning or getting crushed).

You can actually get that with cheat codes though
1 ring transformation/Super Sonic with no rings + Super Sonic doesnt lose rings = you pretty much always start off with Super Sonic and speed through the whole game

If you pause at the right time too your see regular sonic balinncing sprites witch declares he’s sonic
